Gosh, my tree is SO OLD na. I think I’ve had it since 2005 or even earlier? I can’t remember anymore sa tagal. I got it from FLORA SILK (which later became FLORA GARDEN. It’s closed na now btw. We went there 2 weeks ago to buy new ornaments sana, unfortunately, they closed down for good waaaah). The kids have been bugging me to upgrade kasi mukha daw kawawa haha, but I just can’t seem to let go of my little tree because of 4 things:

1) sentimental value – how many Christmases ago have we happily exchanged & excitedly opened gifts under that tree? Dami kayang memories noh! Sa hirap at ginhawa kasama namin yang patpating puno na yan! ;P 2) It’s compact size is just right for our small living space. Plus it’s easier to store, doesn’t require a big bodega. 3) It has “built in” fiberoptic lights that courses through the branches. I don’t need to buy lights annually, and I don’t have to string around the tree. Also, it’s less sunog-prone, don’t you agree? 4) The smaller the tree, the less trimmings you need! Tipid!

I was contemplating if we should still put up a tree this year since the family will be spending Christmas & New Year away anyway. But then, kawawa naman our helpers kung malungkot ang Pasko nila, and my Mom will also stay home. So in the end, putting up the tree won, kahit na medyo mabusisi! 😛 At least they’d still have a semblance of a holiday.

Our tree looks the same every single year. Mahal na kasi sobra ang mga palamuti so I just buy a dozen or so new trimmings yearly to spice it up. This year, kahit wala nang bata sa bahay, I decided to make it a teddy bear-filled Starbucks Christmas Tree! <3

Jena has so many Bearistas lying around, nakatago lang sa cabinet collecting dust. So I thought to myself, mailabas nga! CLICK HERE to see how many we’ve collected through the years since 2000 when my Lovey was just 1 year old. 🙂 And even though she eventually outgrew it, I’d still buy one whenever a new bear comes out. We’ve been collecting for 19 years now!

Ang mga usisera kong aso! How funny, they were watching the Ates decorate the tree the whole time. Parang may mga isip! ;))

Out of all the Bearistas we have collected, I love the halloween bears the most. They are the absolute cutest! <3 Too bad Starbucks skipped making some last year & this year. </3

Eternally grateful to my angels who make life so much easier for tamad old me. ;)) I just placed the bears strategically & they completed my tree. Sanay na sila year after year.

Buti nalang we have lotsa bears to cover even the back part of our munting puno.

Tada!!! My small but oh-so-happy tree. <3 A silent witness to all our Christmases together through the years. Hinding-hindi ko papalitan yan kahit na lumaki pa ang bahay namin. The tree is a symbol of love, not money. Remember, It’s not the size of the tree that counts, or the gifts underneath, but the family that surrounds it. <3

With my Starbucks 2018 Christmas Edition Bearista. Oh yes, akin na sila. I have inherited them back from my not-so-little girl, and I’m just getting started! 😉 There’s a limited edition 21st anniversary Binibini at Ginoo Bearista coming out, I hope I can get my pudgy hands on them huhu. HELP?
