Food & Dining Staycations & Vacations The GOppets

Indonesia Day 4

Jakarta is pretty much like Makati. It’s a city where business takes place. Other than malls, there’s not much to see or do, kaya we got to chill the morning away. Tamang tama kasi madami din akong labadang kailangan gawin. 😛

We are sweating buckets here kaya kulang ang dala naming damit since we are changing clothes like twice/thrice in a day. We also try to take cold showers as often as we can, otherwise we will die of heatstroke, I swear! @_@

Being an early bird, Kap wakes up REALLY early. At dahil magkatabi kami, syempre pag galaw nya, gising na din ako, wah. So we decided to have a brekky date dahil yung mga anak namin, wala yatang mga balak magsipag-gising.

Met up with Ate after the giblings had breakfast to check out the pool & steam area. Kagabi kasi madilim na when we went up, wala na kaming maaninag. ;))

Lucked out when we discovered The Sanctuary. Puro masasakit ang mga likod at binti namin kakalakad the previous days, so these massage chairs were much appreciated.

Everyone was ready to go out & explore by noon. Since we had a big breakfast, we were still too full for lunch so we went to Taman Mini-Indonesia Indah muna to kill time.

Ang laki pala nitong Mini-Indonesia. 😛 After we made our first stop at the museum, nagkatamaran na kaming lahat umikot. But it’s ok coz I think this was the one & only place that was photo-worthy. The rest of the area parang mej bakya na.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah or “Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park” is a culture-based recreational area located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. It has an area of about 250 acres.

Popularly known as Taman Mini, it consists of 26 exclusive replicas of traditional houses of chieftains found throughout the Indonesian archipelago from Aceh to Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java and Papua. These are pavilions displaying the history, arts and crafts and traditions of each of the provinces. Built for education and family fun, Taman Miini has large areas for family recreation, a number of flora and fauna parks, various museums, performing theatres, an Imax theatre and accommodation facilities.

The heat really got us beat, so we headed off to lunch to replenish our energy. Haru, our driver back in Jogja, recommended Suharti for the best chicken daw in Indonesia, so we gave it a try.

Kap wanted to check out Seiko watches. There’s this particular style that he’s been looking for, yung Hulk Green Sumo (akala mo naman bibili eh ilang beses na syang nakahanap pero ayaw naman bumili hay, pinapagod lang talaga kami). I wasn’t willing to go on another wild goose chase, so Babyson volunteered to make the sacrifice hehe.

The girls & I diverted back to Pacific Place after my dream of finally buying an Hermes Lindy was quashed dahil sarado yung tindahan dahil holiday pala (Black Friday) huhu. Sayang, pagkakataon ko na sana since I finally got away from Kap my Kap. Ayan tuloy, wala na akong Second Chance (which is incidentally the name of the store) kasi dikit na uli kami for the rest of the trip after his Seiko chase.

BUT! It’s ok. Ayaw kong may makakitang iba, please lang. 😐 Sige anak, buy & buy I don’t mind. Basta for your eyes only ok!! @_@

Nakahabol din sa amin ang boys after 3 hours of walang kwentang Seiko chase. As I expected, Kap didn’t buy again on this trip. OA.

After Nasi-Goreng all day err day.. AAAAAH, the wonderful smell of plain white rice. Hahahahaha!

When it comes to food, I’m quite adventurous. Pero nagsawa na ako sa Indonesian food. Hindi ko na kaya. Ipa-chinese food mo nalang ako araw-araw kesa mag-Indonesian food every day. Hindi ko talaga type. So food court kami tonight. Meni & I had Japanese while Kap & the 2 older kids ate (what else) Chinese. After 3 days of Indonesian food; quota na talaga kami. Tama na, sobra na, ayoko na.

Ang dami pa naming plano on the way back to our hotel. Mag night swimming pa daw, may steam bath, may-massage chair. Eh paguwi, nagsipag-tulog na after a quick shower. Pagoda! ;))

Tomorrow is our last full day. Kap was so nice to book our room until night time kahit na may extrang bayad just so we can shower again before leaving for the airport hehe. Ganyan kainit dito sa Indo!

Missing the doggos. Glad for the short vacay, but also happy to be going back home where I can have aircon 24/7 lol. GN world! :-*

Dogs love us, and scientists have proven it. … They measured the dogs’ brains when the dogs smelled their owners and found that the scent of an owner activated the “reward center” in a dog’s brain. That means just the scent of their owner makes a dog feel unbelievably happy. Awwwww, we miss you too dearest Lelly & Twinkowwww! </3
