Indonesia Day 3

Mulia Money Exchange (located inside the Inna Garuda Hotel at Malioboro), said to have the best & fairest rate according to our driver Heru, opens at 9AM so we had a leisurely morning. 😛
After another hearty breakfast courtesy of our hotel, we went & exchanged some USD to IDR.

Walang palitan sa mga bangko in Manila ng IDR, so we had a little Rupiah lang exchanged back home kasi nga, malaki ang lugi sa palitan in the black market.

Btw, Grab car kami dito all the way since public transport is also so cheap. So far puro flat rate na 55 pesos lang ang nagagastos namin sa Grab taxi whenever we’d go out to dinner. Mabubuhay kami sa Indonesia! 😛

With only 2 hours to spare on our last day in Jogja, we did a quick round of Taman Sari Water Castle. Taman Sari, which translates to “perfumed garden”, is the site of a former royal garden of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta.

It is located about 2 km south within the grounds of the Kraton, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Built in the mid-18th century, the Taman Sari had multiple functions, such as a resting area, a workshop, a meditation area, a defense area, and a hiding place.

Taman Sari consisted of four distinct areas: a large artificial lake with islands and pavilions located in the west, a bathing complex in the centre, a complex of pavilions and pools in the south, and a smaller lake in the east. Today only the central bathing complex is well preserved, while the other areas have been largely occupied by the Kampung Taman settlement.

On our way out, we saw a unique shop selling hand-painted shirts. The 2 older kids got some as souvenirs. Kap said walang shopping this trip; so nagkasya na ang mga bagets sa rattan bags, local t-shirts & other trinkets hehe.

Voice of Jogja shirts. In fairness, the shirts are of good quality. Tapos talagang Made in Indonesia pa sya, so magandang souvenir of our travel here. Plus, the prints are so unique. 😉

We flew Air Asia going back to Jakarta. Ang laki ng lamang kesa sa NAM Air which we rode coming to Jogja. Kaya chill lang kami pabalik (well, aside from the crying toddlers seated in front & behind us –ang swerte naman!).

Our welcome ride from the hotel which Ate booked online weeks ahead didn’t come. Buti nalang there were several booths for hotel transfers, so Kap sprang for an Alphard!! 😉 We landed past noon so we were hungry but didn’t want to waste any more time eating. Solution? Take out! Ate in the car on the way to our hotel – Ascott Sudirman.

After an hour, we finally made it to home sweet home – episode Jakarta. 😛 Kap was feeling galante & booked a suite with THREE bedooms & 2.5 t&b complete with a dining, living & kitchenette!

staycation = stay in.

unplug.

restore.

Kap learned that there was a Hard Rock Cafe in Jakarta so #lamna, we headed to buy a shirt for his collection after a quick (and much needed) shower.

Checked out the Pacific Place Mall where HRC is housed, but it’s too high end for our lives lol. Lumayas din kami agad. Masakit narin ang paa ng mga prinsesa.

I was feeling so loopy by the end of the day that I left my cellphone while resting on a bench at Galeries Lafayette whilst the gals were looking at shoes. I really thought it was gone for good but Bae, my hero, saved the day. <3 Even though she was as weary as me (more pa, I think) & couldn’t walk properly in her flats, she ran like the wind, went back to the last store we visited, and claimed my phone! Luckily, Indonesians are such honest people. Thank you my bebelove for your quick action. ILYSB!! :-*

Ate found Mie Aceh Seulawah, a highly-rated hole in the wall resto serving crab noodle, so we hightailed it there before going back to our sweet suite. The kids are excited to enjoy our home for the next 3 nights, and so am I! 😉

Goodnight na muna guys! :-*
