Food & Dining Staycations & Vacations The GOppets

Day 18 – Vegas to LA (01/07)

Umagang-umaga empake uli kaming lahat, mahirap talaga pag laging on the go. Bukas/sara ng maleta.
Ang problema, we are always accumulating something along the way kaya yung maleta namin umaangal na rin. Ayaw na magasara! @_@
Vegas is the land of 24 hour buffets! So we had a hard time choosing which one to patronize. Lahat mukhang sobrang sulit at masarap.
Babyson read a review that brunch at Bacchanal Buffet in Caesar’s Palace was the best in Nevada. In fair, happy at busog-lusog si Kap paglabas. 😉
Can I just say for the record though, that if this is indeed their best in Nevada, then IMHO, nothing beats our buffets in Manila. Even the foreigner at the next table raved about Sofitel Manila’s buffet to his companions. 😉 #pinoypride

Stretch pants all the way for team GOppets since we came to Americuh, hahaha. Panay ang lamon. Bacchanal is a luxe, modern buffet place at Caesar’s Palace offering 9 show kitchens & features 500 dishes daily. Perfect for these pugad baboys. ;))

Their buffet spread was good, but then again, so is ours back in Manila. Pwedeng makipagsabayan ang Pilipinas, in fair. Dinner, served daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. is $45.99 for adults, Sundays through Thursdays. And $50.99 Fridays and Saturdays. For kids, the prices are $35.00 during the week, and $45.99 on Fridays and Saturdays. Weekend brunch, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. costs $41.99 for adults and $35.99 for kids.

Got distracted by these cute Christmas ornaments at one of the pop-up stores in Caesar’s Palace on our way out that we were almost late for check out! Masyado akong nalibang.

Lucked in when we randomly passed by this pop-up store on the way to Bacchanal. It was closing down after the holidays and their wares were being marked down considerably. Would have wanted to buy the whole lot but how to bring home?? Baka magkabasag-basag lang, sayang.

Kap allowed me only 12 huhu. These babies are so delicate that they require handling with care. Kailangan hand carry kaya kahit anong iyak ko to add more, Kap was adamant at sticking to a dozen. :'((

Meanwhile, the girls got distracted by THIS! ;))

Along the marble halls of the Appian Way Shops inside Caesar’s Palace Casino is an exact replica of Michelangelo’s David, made from Carrara marble. He stands 18 feet high and weighs more than nine tons. Tatawa-tawang nagmamatyag itong dalawang The Innocents, hahahahaha! Ano kaya ang pinagbubulungan nila?? Jena: Gluts Ate, gluts! ;))

Hurriedly went back to our hotel – may extrang bayad pag lumampas kami ng 12 noon.

Ate is loaded with info. She always reads up ahead & studies our route -squeezing in places whenever she can para masulit ng husto ang lakad namin. She found out about this magical, colorful place & directed her Daddy to make a brief stop at Seven Magic Mountains on our way to LA.

The Seven Magic Mountains is a desert art installation by Ugo Rondinone featuring 7 painted boulder totems up to 35 ft. high, this is meant to draw in tourists to Nevada. These 7 neon-hued boulders reportedly costs $3.5 million to put up, most of which came from came from private donors, with Aria Resort being the largest contributor.

Rondinone proposed Seven Magic Mountains in 2015 and it opened in 2016. Rondinone cut car-sized boulders from a nearby quarry in Nevada. He then had bright coats of neon paint added. After that, rocks were stacked into towers. The display is said to be open only for two years, between 2016 and 2018. If that is the case (sayang naman ang ginastos), we are super thankful to Ate that we were able to take photos here & see it up close & personal before the state totally removes it. <3

Barstow Outlet is a shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores at Tanger Way in Barstow, CA. We were able to buy several designer bags & wallets for our hardworking angels back home. I hope they like their pasalubongs! <3

The fam, me, and my stinking socks reached L.A. by nightfall..

I think this is the perfect bnb for our little fam amongst all the ones we booked. Spacious & modern, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer, parking. Perfect!

Poor Babyson, he sleeps on the couch again for the duration of our stay. :'((

Since comfort food for the Goppets translates to Chinese food, and we definitely needed a lot of comforting sa pagod na pinaggagagawa namin sa sarili, Ate googled & found this pretty popular place where Jackie Chan filmed a scene in Rush Hour.
Alam nyang matutuwa dito ang Daddy nya, and this girl had serious sucking up to do kasi may balak sayang waldasin the rest of he pocket money in the LA stores. ;))

The Foo Chow Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles, California. The restaurant serves as the hideout of Juntao and his men. It is featured in Rush Hour & Jackie Chan made an appearance here in one of the scenes. 😛

Did 3 loads of washing pagkauwing pagkauwi.
Multi-tasked with my trusty nebulizer. This has saved me from going to the hospital so many times, thank you again & again, Madrazo fam for giving me my safety net!
Ok, tulog na muna me. Excited for the days ahead! 🙂
Last leg of our journey. Guys kaya pa ba? Kakayanin!
