Kap & Me My Kids Others

Khalid

Being a couple of old farts, sometimes we like the song playing on the radio but don’t know the name of the song or who the singer is. We just bop our heads to the sound & try to sing along –kadalasan nga mali-mali pa ang lyrics namin haha. Sound trip lang ba, ganun. So when our 2 girls asked if they could watch the concert of a certain Khalid na hindi naman namin kilala, we gave them the green light on the condition that they have to get front row –pero hindi pwedeng sa mosh pit. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

Buti nalang mababait nag mga anak namin, they don’t mind us old peeps tagging along their lakad hahaha.

Not only are they prone to nakaw in that situation, but also chancing! But since Khalid‘s performance was in Araneta Coliseum na alam namin may upuan at isangkatutak ang fire exits, our safety concerns were somewhat minimized.

I know, I know, you’re probably thinking.. Ate is 24 na & my not so little Bae just turned 19. Basically adults already. Well, the mommy in me will always try to protect them & keep them safe no matter how old they get. Aba sayang naman yung sakripisyo at pinagpaguran ko ng ilang taon just to keep them safe & sound diba.

Because when it comes to my kids, I will fight with the fangs of a wolf & the claws of a dragon. No one and nothing can, or will, stop me from protecting them no matter how old they get. And that is a promise I intend to keep for as long as I live. Masanay na sila. 😛

Anyway, going back to Khalid (for the record, it’s pronounced “kuh-leed.”), the girls played his entire album while we were in the car one day & while listening, Kap said “uy gusto ko yang mga kantang yan ah, sino ang singer? Pa-download!” (remember Kap & Jena danced to “8TEEN” for her debut so he was very familiar with the song, lol. Only then did we connect the dot between the song & the singer na magko-concert pala. Oo na, we are so outdated! ;P

Learning of their Dad’s enthusiasm, the 3 kids connived & bought us tickets as his birthday gift (syempre naman sabit ako, always & forever). It’s so hard kaya to find a gift for Kap they he will really like, so this was an opportunity of a lifetime. ;)) Unfortunately though, all seats near the girls’ section were sold out, so they had to buy from a reseller, and in a different seating area –sa bandang Lower box na. We didn’t mind. With our failing eyesight, kahit sa VIP Patron pa kami umupo good luck na maaninag namin si Khalid – ang itim pa naman nya, lol-JK. #peace

Even the kids are broke with the sunod-sunod na birthdays these BER months haha kaya they have to wisely ration their allowance!

Concert naman is about hearing. And we heard great, even waaaay back, lol.

We gotta admit, we kinda zoned & conked out during the opening act. James Reid daw & his crew, according to my seat mate who I unceremoniously poked & asked, teehee. Da who? 1 hour na jumping around in hoodies & rapping, hindi namin type. After almost an hour, Khalid finally came on stage. Gising na uli kami. 😛 Tuloy ang saya!

Kap & I were so clueless kung sino ang opening act. I had to nudge the girl beside me pa to ask “sino ba yang mga nagtatalunan na yan?”. James Reid daw. Me: James who? #pataykangbataka buking talaga our generation gap! ;))

Funny thing is, talagang kami lang ni Kap ang matanda, as in. Swearbear, we kept looking around, puro mga bata ang nasa paligid namin, 21 and below! Looking at us, they probably wanted to ask us to shoo! ;)) Panira sa event nila hahaha. #sorrynotsorry

Henyways, we still enjoyed & danced the night away – the young once alongside the young ones, bakit ba. #oldwiseandmaypera naman kami. Keri lang.

After the concert, we were FAMISHED! The girls are currently crazy over Samgyupsalamat & they wanted us to try it out, so that’s where we headed for a late dinner. Unli meats, nakupo, baka bangungutin kami sa bigat hehe.

The name ‘Samgyupsalamat’ was coined from the word “Samgyupsal”, which means pork belly in Korea, and “Salamat”, which means thank you in Filipino.

You can get unlimited meal of 10 kinds of Korean meat (beef & pork) with side dishes worth Php499, or opt for an all-pork meal for only 449 (haller, add ka nalang ng 50 pesos may beef na, so why hesitate. Even Kap knows it lol).

Ang saya saya! <3 Many thanks, kiddos, for this awesome treat (buti nalang salingkit ako kay Kap my Kap hehe). 😛 Pwede ba uli kami sumama?
