Day 15 – SFO to Vegas (01/04)

Today’s the day we move on to Viva Las Vegas! It’s a 10-hour drive so we woke up early & tried to leave the apartment by 8. Kaso, ang daming stopover ni Kap & the kids so pasado ala-1 na kami nakaalis.

The kids asked to pass by Target to buy chips & drinks for the long road trip ahead. Gah.

Kap left his (heart) BACKPACK in San Francisco. Along with his shades & his pride.

Hahahahaha!

When we went to the bridge the other day, I saw & fancied a picture frame na korteng Golden Gate. The price was US$24.95 – pumalag si Kap. Sa Chinatown nalang daw kami maghanap at siguradong mas mura. Umatake na naman yung sakit nya – Kakunatitis! ;))

Pero syempre my evil bubble thought was: “Haller? Yung gas hindi mo kinompute? Yung oras na masasayang kakahanap hindi mo na-consider? Eh yung parking fee?”  @_@

Kaso baka mapalo ako sa pwet, so I just kept my mouth shut.

Kinalabasan, wala naman yung gusto kong picture frame sa chinatown just like I predicted. So bumalik kami sa Krissy Field where I saw the frame at napiiltan si Kap bilhin for me.

By the time we took off for LAS, it was way past noon already. No time na to eat a sit-down lunch, it’ll have to be on the go.

Thank you kuya Alfredo & Ate Jean for being so kind & accommodating to our family & patiently answering all our inquiries, helping us the best you can. Thank you too for the water & juice you left in the ref for our first day in Sanfo. My fear talaga is baka walang mabilhan ng tubig, so finding our ref well stocked with drinks was a big relief. You are so very thoughtful & the perfect hosts! <3

😉 He will take the 2nd shift, kaya nagpahinga na agad. Our Bae is not comfy with the roads in America, so she asked to be excused from driving duties.

Stopped by an American fast food chain, Carl’s Jr., for a quick & super late lunch na parang meryenda na nga, 3-in-1 grabeh (brekky, lunch & snack rolled into 1!). Note how useful my pocket is, hawakan ng fries!

Upon reaching Las Vegas at close to midnight, we immediately checked in at where else, Hard Rock Hotel. Kap’s obsession with this franchise is real. @_@

Kap was able to find a good deal online, so he decided na hotel naman kami this time, pahinga muna from bnb. The suite can accommodate 5 people comfortably. Kawawang Babyson took the couch as usual. He was so tired from the trip that I don’t think he minded though. ;))

Thank you anak for always taking the high road. And yet, you don’t complain of your soddy accommodations. Know that we appreciate all your sacrifices.

Totally wiped out when we reached Nevada at 11:30. The 2 older kids went off to buy food so we can relax & sleep the night away.

So very happy & proud of how our kids turned out. Pare-pareho naman kaming pagod at walang tulog, and yet they still took it upon themselves to scout for our food, knowing their parents are old na, weary pa. This long distance driving is really for the younger ones, hindi na pwede sa mga uugud-ugud na tulad namin. Suuuuper taxing!

It’s been a looong & tring day. Bae & I are still sick & coughing like cray. I hope we’ll be better na in the coming days so we can enjoy God’s blessing.

Signing off guys. :-*
