24 hours in Hong Kong!

24 hours in Heng Keng, what a productive day it had been for the 2 older siblings who had very limited time to enjoy their trip abroad because of their busy sked at work & in school!

It was Jena’s 1 month break from school & she asks very little, really. So when my Babylove requested for an out of the country trip, I had to move heaven & earth to make it possible.. without having to leave anyone behind (well, except for the doggos)!

With just one day to book our madaliang trip to the nearest country na pwedeng balikan lang, we chose Hong Kong as our destination. Our first getaway after 3 years of travel ban due to covid!

Super thankful cebupac had a promo even at such short notice – 10k roundtrip per person. So I made an executive decision to do this without consulting Kap my Kap kahit na we were seated right beside each other in the car – in the pretext that he was busy driving (kasi alam kong papalag sya hehe). It was, after all, now or never! @_@ So yeah, I got an earful after as expected (mej nagdugo ang tenga ko), and some tears were shed (mostly mine.. some Jena’s), but after all the hullabaloo & grief coming from my better (and wiser) half, everything came into place & he finally calmed down after a day of not speaking to me. 😛 #thegrudge

Kap kasi is the type who has to be prepared. Ayaw nya yung ora-orada, unlike me na laging strike while the iron is hot. Kap is the turtle to my hare. Anything unplanned, he is at odds with. Isa pa, wala kaming nakatabing US dollars, so he really panicked. Although I told him naman Hong Kong accepts peso exchange!

We left late afternoon already on the 25th as we had to go to church muna (non-negotiable yan kay Kap), pick up Duktura from her overnight duty in the hospital, tapos she had to pack her clothes pa. Plus the mandatory 3 hours waiting time in the airport, gaah. We arrived in HK on a cool Sunday night & mega-rushed to YUNG KEE for our reservation. Unfortunately, because of the delay of our plane, we got there late & had to celebrate our Christmas dinner elsewhere.

But One Dimsum was a good alternative that my Babyson randomly pulled out of his hat like a magician! It was a hole in the wall resto patronized by locals, perfect for our first chinese meal! <3

My golden son also managed to book us at Holiday Inn Golden Mile along Nathan Road in spite of the rush & busy holiday season. We got 2 premiere rooms lang priced at around 8k each (KKB – kanya kanyang breakfast). Sobrang maabilidad talaga itong GOwapo ko, I’m so thankful to have such a cooperative ally, hehe. The location was super favorable with the mtr/7-11 accessible. ‘Lam nyo naman, ako si #drinkyourwaterbitch. I need a 24-hour convenience store near me for emergency life-or-death purchases!

The next day when we woke up, Kap already had breakfast ready! Aayaw-ayaw pa daw say mag-HK pero wag ka, out of the hotel and up & about na sya ng pagkaaga-aga! ;))

My Babyson was able to move our Yung Kee reservation to lunch on the 26th, so we rushed over to get our much-coveted table before noon. It was the one & only resto on his agenda so by hook or by crook, we had to try the goose there. Winner naman pala talaga sya, in fair.

I wanted them to try Mott 32 sana, kasi when Kap & I went there for our anniversary, I super enjoyed the juicy goose & the ambiance. Kaso mo, fully booked kasi nga Pasko. Le sigh, next time I guess.

By the way, the weather was perfect, light to no jacket lang sya. I packed all-sweaters, so pawis ako. Tees & an optional light jacket (kung ginawin ka) is recommended for the December weather there.

With only a few hours left for the 2 older siblings in HK, we set out to divide & conquer. The boys went to Sneaker Street while the girls went to Harbour City to do some extended “goose” shopping. Can I just say? This particular goose, by far, was the most expensive one I have ever seen in my entire life! 😛 Ewan ko ba bakit nagustuhan nila, ang dungis namang tignan!

I felt bad that the 2 siblings only had 24 hours 12 waking hours in HK & had so little time to eat/shop/enjoy what HK had to offer! :'( But at least they got a brief break from the busyness of life, huhu. Kahit papaano nakakain at naka-shopping sila ng slight.

And just like that, my babies had to leave for Manila. </3 Kap & I promised them another trip mid-year when the 2 older ones had more time to spare. Duktura already filed for a 7-day leave & my Babyson is graduating for Med School in July kaya may konting free days sya before Internship. I can hardly contain my excitement for our GO-saka trip! \m/

The next 48 hours by our lonesome, up next! :-*

Medyo nangangapa pa ako mag-blog uli, kaya pagpasensyahan nya na muna ako while I get used to writing again.
