Celebrations & Occasions Food & Dining

Seven Corners

Because Kap is (ma)K(unat), I am allowed to splurge on food only when there are special occasions. Like birthdays. Or anniversaries. But he still gives me a certain budget & I’m not allowed to go overboard. So for their 4 past succeeding birthdays, I made sure to make reservations at hotels with buffets because I know it’s the only time I can get away with it.

So far out of 3, I was happy with the outcome of only 1, and that was Kap’s birthday celebration at Market Cafe. The last 2 sucked big time (Read HERE & HERE). And because we didn’t have the best dinner with the 2 girls’ celebrations, I braced myself for a mediocre dinner as well for my babyson’s 16th birthday celebration last night at SEVEN CORNERS, CROWNE PLAZA GALLERIA.

It was another untried & untested restaurant so I didn’t get my hopes up. I haven’t had the best of luck in choosing so far so I thought what would make this any different. :PTo my pleasant surprise, our dinner turned out better than I expected! Other than the maze-like underground parking where we got lost over & over again (yes. In the parking lot!), and the sashimi which were not fresh, we enjoyed everything else that Seven Corners had to offer -down to the dessert which amazed me because I haven’t been impressed with hotel desserts as far as I can remember. The servers were also very attentive & friendly even with a fairly good crowd.

For 1.8k/person, I was happy with the steak & seafood offerings on a weekday. The prime rib was succulent & tender. The seafood fresh & aplenty. The romantic ambience was definitely a big factor too. I gave myself a mental pat in the back for choosing this resto to celebrate my babyson’s birthday. He’s very simple & low-key, doesn’t ask for much. So I was very glad that our dinner celebration turned out so well because I know he doesn’t want a week-long celebration like his sisters. 😛

 Corner 1. Seafood Station.

Corner 2. Japanese/Sushi Station.

You can see their sashimi slices are really not the freshest.

Make your own Miso Soup.

Corner 3. Salad Station.

Corner 4. Make your own Noodle Soup station. I was too full to try this. But my tablemates were quite happy with their individual choices.

Corner 5. Carving Station. Aside from Prime Rib they also had a Leg of Lamb, Lechon, and other meat varieties.

And boy did I fall in love with their prime rib! It was so tender & juicy. None of that tough, chewy stuff in the past 2 hotel buffets we ate in.

Corner 6. Make your own Pasta & Pizza Stations. I really love how you are free to choose what you want in mostly every station at Seven Corners! <3

Corner 7. Dessert Station. With coldstone-type ice cream! Just look at that BIG smile! <3

Cheese & Bread Station.

And because I’m a believer in the power of a family prayer, I am promoting it wholeheartedly..
I also asked for a birthday blowing cake when I called ahead to make the necessary reservation since the kids have outgrown their desire for a custom-made one. Seven Corners was so nice to accommodate my request & gave a traditional birthday song number..

Happy 16th birthday my dearest GO-wapo! <3

I super kaduper LOVE this boy! <3

And so do the girls! <3

And I’m sure you know what happens when they get too full. Yep, brace yourselves for the following mowdelicious photos! ;))

Up..

down..

and all the way home! ;))

May your life be filled with love & happiness all around. :-* Happy sweet 16 my babyson! <3

    Hi Jane,
Happy Birthday to your favorite son! 🙂
Please don’t be sad when you feel na he’s neglecting you. Sometimes, sons are like that, they want to explore more outside of their comfort zone. It’s their pa-binata past time lang. Please remember, you and your husband raised him well, nurtured him with love and with attention galore pa from his sisters! He knows that you’ll be there for him no matter what. Please know this – His Dad is his first and greatest “idol” , his Mom is his one and forever “love”
    So, don’t be sad. 🙂

Salalamat nga pala for your buffet posts and with pictures pa!

Ms. Jane, it’s really a pleasure to see how much time you spend to make your family happy. And it shows how much they love and appreciate you. I’m a fan of your family blog. I do hope my kids grow up to love me as much as your kids love you 🙂

Hi Jackie! 🙂 Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your support. I’m sure your kids think the world of you too. We moms just gotta love them as much as we can, for as long as we can. Pretty soon they’ll outgrow their need for their mommies so we have to make every minute count. 🙂
