Celebrations & Occasions Food & Dining Kap & Me My Kids The GOppets

Jana Turns 24!

My kids have outgrown mommy’s surprises. They no longer look forward to extraordinary pakulo from their atrebidang mom. All adults now, they have reached the age where they just want to celebrate their birthdays privately & quietly sans fanfare. Ever since kasi, showy talaga ako. I demonstrate my love to them through not just words, but more with action, so I had to exert the ultimate restraint to not go against their wishes & keep it low key this time around.

It started with my Bae when she turned 19 this year. 😛 So she also told me under no circumstance should I spring on her a birthday surprise. Gaya-gaya puto maya! @_@ Bakit kaya? Ako naman tuwang-tuwa pag may nice surprise, hmp!

Birthdays are supposed to be special, gusto ko talaga kahit konting effort man lang sana meron, but the stars are not aligned. Super not in my favor huhu. Palpak pati bulaklak! </3

I called them relentlessly to try to get the flowers to Ate in school on time, kaso talagang hindi kaya. She had a clinical duty in a hospital after 12 noon, so refund nalang. I have to commend FLOWERDELIVERYPHILIPPINES.NET though for giving me back my money kahit na ako ang may kasalanan at dapat talaga hindi na qualified for a money back. I highly recommend them, sobrang profeyshenel! Plus they have the least expensive Rainbow Ecuadorian Roses (believe me, I canvassed).

Ayan tuloy Ate, virtual Ecuadorian roses nalang for you, nausog tuloy. Sadness Everdeen ahuhuhu.

Buti nalang this girl is not the romantic type, lels. 😉

Ayaw, eh di huwag. But gifts are very much welcome daw with wide open arms pa, lol! 😛 Matalinong matsing!

I wanted us to twin but she opted for brown mules, para daw pwede kaming mag-hiraman. 😛

Because she had school on the day of her birthday -and as you well know, I’m a stickler for celebrations, we had pre & post birthday eats of course. Doon man lang makabawi ako sa kanya kahit papaano.

Pre birthday..

I swear, Peninsula Manila has the prettiest lobby! <3 Sarap mag we-fie! 😉

Afternoon tea with my girls. It’s a holiday pero #aralpamore si Atey! Kawawa. #roadtoMD Kaya naman I like to spoil them whenever possible, coz they all study so hard. Mababait at masisipag na mga anak.

On the table at the Peninsula Manila. PINK afternoon tea set for breast cancer awareness priced at php 1,400.00/set. For every purchase of the afternoon tea set, proceeds will go directly to the Philippine Foundation For Breast Care Inc. which provides hope & help to women battling breast cancer. Poached chicken salad, cranberry aioli, arugula, pan de plaque | Strawberry goat cheese, proscuitto, pickeled shallots, rye bread | Buffalo mozarella, tomato jam basil aioli, tomato bread | Sundried tomato & spinach quiche | English scones with strawberry jam, lemon curd, and clotted cream. | Pink grapefruit eclair, Strawberry tartlet, Raspberry millefeuille, Velvet macaron, Cherry cheesecake | Pink Flamingo Tea (A graceful TWG blend of green tea with crimson hibiscus blossoms. Rose-colored cup with tart, fruity overtones. Don’t forget to claim your FREE pink pen! \m/

After our afternoon tea, we watched a 4D version of The Nutcracker. (It’s such a nice Christmas movie, btw. Do watch it with the fam). So funny coz the last time we tried 4D, nahilo at nasuka ako kasi nga gumagalaw na ang upuan, may 3D glasses pa. So I always tell the kids NOT to buy movie tickets kapag ganyan. But then, ako ang natokang bumili ng tickets for this particular movie, guess where I bought lol. Akala ko naman kasi reclining chairs kaya tig-500 each. 4D pala hayPasaway na nanay! @_@ Hilong talilong uli ako paglabas!

But of course, lafang pa more in spite of my dizzy state. ;)) Spices again for dinner. For the Pen Card, it’s 50% off for every 2 guests. 30% for 3 guests, and 20% for the succeeding number of guests. We parked at the hotel then took a grab car to Greenbelt & back. 😛

Actual birthday..

For Ate‘s actual birthday dinner, I still had a small surprise up my sleeve. She requested for shabu-shabu lang -eh we have that naman talaga once a week, nothing special na for her. Kaya to spice up her special day, I asked Bae to order a Merry Berry 9×13 cake from Cakes by Miriam for her Ate. For an additional charge, they deliver right to your doorstep by the way! <3 Wagi!

In case you want to order, A 9×13 Merry Berry cake costs php 3900 with a delivery charge of 700 for Ayala Alabang (delivered straight to our house). Banner is also extra 100, lucis 60, and 24 gold candles at 10 pesos each. Total cost is around 5k, the look on her face, priceless! <3

Since I already gave my gift to Ate a weeks ago (see above), she didn’t have anything to open on her actual birthday, boo. Good thing Babyson & his beloved got Ate this NASA x VANS sneaker that she’s been eyeing. Thank you KT & Babyson! :-*

Her sweet & thoughtful achie Kim also sent over a birthday gift. <3 I love how Ate found an older sister in Kim & that they remain close in spite of their busy skeds. Thank you Kim & Joe for loving Jana the way you do!! :-*

Post birthday..

So I booked a table for 10 for us & some of the HOES at Marriott Cafe in Marriott Manila..

Ate has pared down her closest friends in med school to 4. Two of whom are her constants. I’m glad she has such a strong support group, and that they can really rely on each other. Med school is so tough!

I’m happy Ate was able to take a little break from med life & enjoy a carefree night with her friends & her salingkit fam hahaha.

Marriott’s dinner buffet starts at 2,150 depending on the night you visit. This is the weekday rate. The choices are not that extensive though: Chinese, Japanese, Salad, Indian, Filipino, Carving & Dessert stations.

A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be your best friend. ILYSM Mana!! :-*

Having great friends to share your life with is a gift like no other. After all, friends are the family you choose. <3

You don’t choose your family, they are God’s gift to you as you are to them. I’m just so so thankful & grateful for this bunch! #thankyouLORD #blessedbeyondmeasure

Dearest Mana. All I’ve ever wanted in life was a happy family. To be a wife to a loving, caring & devoted husband. And a mommy to healthy, beautiful, wonderful children. 24 years ago, you made one of my wishes come true. Being a mother was a fulfilment of my lifelong dream. You, dad, and your siblings bring color to my otherwise dull life.

Thank you for noticing. :-*

Not just on your birthday, but every single day of my life, I celebrate you my dearest Jangi. Happy 24th birthday! <3 No words will ever be enough to tell you just how much I love you, how I’m so very proud of you, and how you make me so very happy! #luckymemommy

I hope your birthday was filled with sunshine & rainbows (inspite of the no show of the rainbow roses lol), love & laugher. Maybe next year, you’ll allow me na to make some magic so I could let you know just how much you mean to me, and how much having you in my life made me the happiest ever! <3

O ayan, may pahabol pa ang gaga. ;)) The gifting never stops, lol.

Happy birthday to Jana! I have been a follower since 2011. I admire your relationship with your children, Ms Jane. I had my first child in 2011 and I would like to share you were my peg. Didn’t know how to raise my daughter back then. Kakatuwa lang, ginaya ko how you treat your kids with so much love. If my mom reads this, she’ll get jelly bakit hindi siya inspiration ko as mom haha. ❤️

Oh gosh! Sorry if I caused undue worry! It’s just that I’ve seen too many bad things that can go wrong with ID theft and you never know with the malice that’s out there in the world. 🙂

This post made me ?. Im actually back reading. Recently ko lang na-notice your blog pero I follow your IG and admire how you are as a mother and wife. I follow mrsnerimiranda and parang pareho kayo. Just so much good vibes. So much love. I hope my relationship with my kids will be like yours.

When I read about your daughter and her friends… dun ako na ?. Naalala ko 12yo daughter ko because she’s having “friends/classmates” issues in school right now. Actually this has been going on since grade 4. She just told me the other day na may exchange gift daw lahat ng girls sa class nila pero ayaw siya isali ng isang girl even though one of her friends insisted on letting her join kasi daw “di naman natin siya squad”. My daughter is not really keen on “the exchange gift” but her concern is bakit “ayaw sa kanya”. Mabait yung anak ko. Hindi na lang nagsasalita when they are talking about her. And pag nagkukwento siya sakin nakikita ko na pinipigalan niya umiyak kasi daw ayaw niya ako mag-worry She’s an achiever and an honor student. Pero hindi siya pa-bibo or pa-epal. Swabe lang. Pero it seems yung girls doesn’t get her. Iba sila ng hilig. They are into KPop and like to chat and FB, she’s into anime and doesnt like social media. So feeling niya palagi di siya makarelate so most if the time dinidistance na lang niya sarili niya. What I’m grateful naman ayaw niya magbago ng hilig just to please them or para ma-belong. Anyway…because di sila swak ng most of the girls… boys tuloy ang friends niya kasi daw walang arte. ?

Pasensiya na napa-hugot ako. Feeling ko kasi mas affected pa ako than her. Nanay kasi di ba. Have a wonderful christmas vacation. ?

Hi Beth. 🙂 I so feel you. When our kids are hurting, x100 ang intensity ng dating sa atin huhu. May I give you an unsolicited advice? Please take her out of that toxic environment asap. Those bullies will NEVER change. I commiserate with you, your daughter deserves a happy & carefree environment. It’s hard enough that they have to study hard, tapos may ganyang bagay-bagay pa to distract them from school. December 14, 2018 at 2:05 pm
