Food & Dining Staycations & Vacations The GOppets

Day 25 – LA to Manila (01/14)

“Vacation is like flirting with life. It’s like saying: I would stay & love you, but I have to go. This is the end of the line for me, here’s my station.” Ahuhu, yan ang feeling namin while stacking our bags in the car & locking the door to the bnb behind us.

There’s such a finality to these simple acts that I can’t help but feel melancholy.

Post-vacation blues is real gaize, hindi ako nagiinarte hehe! More than the sights, the eats, the shops, what I’d really miss the most is waking up to the family & spending the whole day with them. No interruptions, no school, no work, no friends. Just us, enjoying the adventure & experiencing new things together 24/7.

No time to prepare breakfast for the long haul ahead, so we truly appreciated Julie’s thoughtful pa-baon. Ate what we can in the bnb, and packed the rest for the trip home. The Guava Roll/Strudel (pried at $.91 each) was something special – flaky short dough filled with Porto’s signature guava jam, it’s truly unique & I can’t wait to share some with Mom & the peeps back home. I wonder why we don’t have this, guava is abundant in the Phils. right?

Up to the last minute, packing, packing, packing! Lahat ng mabibigat, sa hand-carry & praying hard na hindi sila titimbangin, lol.

Kap has friends in literally both low & HIGH places hehe. Too late when we found out our pilot for the flight home was none other than Kap’s good buddy, Capt. Nol Isaac. Palabas na kami ng aeroplanoSayang, wala tuloy upgrade huhu. Dami pa naman daw bakante sa Business Class, waaah. :'((

Two reasons why coming home was not as bad as I thought it would be.. Lelly & Twinks! They must have missed us something bad, sumama magsundo. <3

Chase your dreams, go take an adventure. But always know the road that will lead you home again. Hello home sweet home, we’re baaaaack!

“Goodbye vacation, goodbye Christmas, goodbye snow and adventures. Goodbye to the days full of fun New York, San Francisco, Vegas & LA. This is not a goodbye forever, we will meet again in the next few years, and it will be even better. <3

‘Til our next adventure! To my loyal readers, thank you for sticking with me guys! :-*

I truly appreciate all your posts Jane. That was lots of fun reading about your trip (except the bad luck in San Francisco). My honey and I had been to all the places you visited so it brought back memories. 2003 -2008 we went RVing and we took our time just roaming all over the USA and eastern Canada. June 2017 we went on a luxury cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. December 2017/March 2018 we went on a luxury cruise to eastern and western Caribbean. This July we will be on a luxury cruise again to Alaska to celebrate my honey’s birthday. I really hope one day in the future we would see you taking a Crystal Cruise. Take Care and God Bless. Thel

Oh wooooow Thel, your travels are truly my goals. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do RV with Kap one day some day. How romantic, coasting through the long & winding road at your own pace & time. That would be such a memorable adventure! <3 Cruise, on the other hand, is still a dream yet to be achieved. 😉 In time, God willing.
