Food & Dining Staycations & Vacations The GOppets

Day 12 – NYC to SFO (01/01)

I have mixed emotions about leaving NY. Sad that 11 days moved on pretty quickly. We have barely 2 weeks to go for the last of our bonding days in the US. But also happy in a way, because life in NYC is just too stressful!

I’m constantly on the alert about our safety, feel ko talaga the city is so dangerous. Resulta, I’m not comfy taking my eyes off the kids kahit na malalaki na sila. Daming matatapang na itim & homeless littering the streets of New York.

Sorry, and the kids are angry at me for thinking this way, but I can’t help feeling the way I do. Ibang level talaga sila magsalita at gumalaw. Feeling ko any moment masasaksak kami sa daan, lol.

Plus every place is just so crowded (or maybe it’s just because of the holiday season?).

Left the apartment before 6am to catch our 6-hour flight to San Francisco. It was already mid-afternoon by the time we landed & another hour to get to our apartment.

“Remember that happiness is a way of travel, not a destination. It is not down in any map; true places never are.”

Knock out uli kami ni Kap. This is how tired we are with our daily shenanigans, maupo lang, tulog agad. Btw, akala mo nasa bahay ako noh? Nakataas pa ang paa sa eroplano hahaha. Sorry pohwz, pinulikat lang! ;))

Thankfully, we have a car for the entire duration of our remaining trip! Kap tasked Babyson to find us a decent-sized vehicle na kumportable kaming 5, plus with ample room for our many (and increasing) luggages. Part of our US itinerary is crossing to LV & LA from Sanfo, which will require long-distance driving. The cheapest & most economical one Babyson was able to find was at Alamo via Rentalcars.com . Our total bill for the entire duration ( days) was $665.35 or 34,825 php. Pikit-mata nalang for our family’s safety & convenience.

I’m soooo loving the Sanfo vibe already. Even our apartment feels so homey.

They live just upstairs (may separate silang entrance). Plus we have our own garage, hindi tulad ng sa Brooklyn na lagi kami nakikipag-agawan sa parking sa labas ng bnb.

Ate found this gem in a quiet neighborhood. Bonus point is mga Pinoy and may-ari, so Kap befriended them at libre na ang Q&A portion, lol. Jackpot! \m/

Just have to say, the green exterior doesn’t look very inviting does it, but it’s super cozy & inviting inside. We felt right at home! <3

It’s comfort food for the fam before we called it a night. Ate‘s friend KIM LAO recommended this resto, R&G Lounge, which was near our area. Matikman nga!

The color green seems to follow us everywhere. Chinese food again on our first day in Sanfo, kaloka! R&G is a 2-storey restaurant in the San Francisco area that served decent Chinese food. Pasado sa panlasang GOppets.

For dessert, we tried Bob’s Donut & Pastry Shop.

Bob’s Donut & Pastry Shop is a popular 24-hour bakery in the Bay Area providing a variety of classic donuts & pastries. It prides itself in making the BIGGEST donut in San Francisco. In fact, Bob’s has a Giant Donut challenge. Eat one in under 2 minutes & it’s on the house! 😉 Unfortunately, when we got there after dinner, all the giant donuts were sold out.

Kap is sick, and as usual, my Bae wasn’t able to sleep in the plane, so we decided to call it a day & sleep early. Baka lumala pa ang sakit ni OTL. Bukas, humanda ka Sanfo. Susuyurin ka namin ng buong-buo!
