Food & Dining Staycations & Vacations The GOppets

Day 1 – Off we go! (12/21)

Like ALL our adventures, of course this latest one JUST had to start with a misadventure, gosh. Our pre-booked & pre-paid bulkhead seats were jumbled and we were scattered like dust in the wind when Asiana Airlines changed our intended plane to a smaller one. Nag iba-iba ang upuan naming mag-pamilya huhu.

Booked our trip more than 6 months in advance & we were able to get a pretty good deal, although a long stopover in Korea was in the works (which, at the time, I didn’t think we’d mind so much. Iba pala yung actual na hehe. Pagoda galore!). I suggest you fly direct & the heck with saving a little over convenience. We lost a day in the process on top of the weariness, so NEVER AGAIN. @_@

Bumped into my mommy friend RIA who was spending the CHRISTmas holiday with her sister TEREE in Korea.

The email sent to me was in Korean, so naturally I didn’t understand. I was supposed to re-book our seats pala. And since I didn’t, the computer chose for us, hayz.

The alternate plane was considerably smaller than the original, so there was a shortage for bulkhead seats. Buti nalang we went to the airport early so customer service was able to arrange our seats like we previously intended! They were going to refund but of course I refused. Ano sila, sinuswerte? I insisted on the bulkhead seats we already paid for 6 months in advance. Buti nagawan ng paraan.
.
The rest of the flight was uneventful, thank God. We had a 7-hour layover at Incheon airport before heading to our first destination which was NYC.

Thankful for the use of the Asiana Business & First Class Lounge at the Incheon Airport, which we were able to enjoy since we paid extra for our bulkheads seats.

Kapitan Kunat was not willing to shell out $27 each for our convenience, hay naku!

For the layover, I was hoping Kap wouldn’t notice that there’s a minimal fee for the use of the Priority Pass lounge. I’ve gotten away several times in the past, so I was pretty confident mailulusot ko din itong gastos na ito ($40/person) Weh, Kap was able to nap in the flight so he was alert hehe. Napurnada ang masama kong balak.

Good thing our hero BAE found out that we can use the Asiana 1st & Biz class lounge for FREE since we got bulkhead seats woohoo. Otherwise, magtititigan lang kaming lima for 7 hours, my gulay. Thank you so much Meni my love so sweet! :-*

We were able to nap, shower & eat in the lounge so we were pretty chill for the 7 hour wait.

Tuwang tuwa ang mokong kasi nakalibre kami sa lounge.  Ayan, ang himbing ng tulog. Nanggugulo pa kamo! 😛

Dinner, sleep, shower, brekky. Thank you so much (Beh and) Asiana for this big comfort! <3

While the 2 younger ones & I dozed, these 2 night owls stalked the airport grounds. They are the TRUE travel buddies, mga gala at hindi mapakali sa isang lugar. They always have to be on the GO. @_@

The start of our American adventure on the next posts. It’s 11 days in NYC, 3 days in Sanfo, 3 days in LV, and 7 days in LA making it a total of 25 days woohooooo! I hope you enjoy our travelogue. #oneisSILVERandtheotherGOLD (in celebration of our 50th bdays & 25th wedding anniv)

Hi Ms Jane! F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!!! Ive been waiting for this post for quite some time now. I honestly thought you’ve decided to join the bandwagon of bloggers who has moved their entire platform in Instagram. The fluidity and uniqueness of your humor is quite limited on IG I still prefer you continue with your blog which will provide you with longer space to write and unlimited pictures to post! I really cant wait for the blog series of your USA adventures although I was given a glimpse albeit briefly in IG when you posted up to date. Thanks Ms. Jane!!!
