7 years as sweethearts, 1 year of civil marriage followed by 25 happy years of a union blessed by God. This March, we celebrate 33 years of bliss, and I’m still head over heels in love with the then 16 year old boy who took my heart & (thankfully) never gave it back. <3

People always ask me, “why & how are you still so kilig & in love after 33 years into the relationship?” Well, I guess it’s because I always count my blessings, and no matter how I look at it, Kap truly is my biggest blessing. I also try not to create problems when there’s really none. And I choose to always see the positive & accept the negative, because no one is ever perfect. #mayforever #foreverisachoice . The “Honeymoon Phase” doesn’t exist when you fall for someone who is dedicated in making you feel loved & admired the ENTIRE time you’re theirs. That is the definition of unconditional love. So stop “upplaying” the temporary loss of affection in your relationship just because you had a tiring week, or a bad day at work. Love is a CHOICE, not a phase. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) Love doesn’t just die. It’s up to you to keep it alive if you really want it. Gentle reminder: In a sea of people, if you’ve finally found THE ONE, fight for him & don’t let go. O pag-ibig, kapag pumasok sa puso ninuman, hamakin na ang lahat masunod ka lamang.

My Kap is a simple guy as you know. He’s not one to enjoy pomp & pageantry. So even though I would like to don another white gown & walk down the aisle again to meet my faithful groom to renew our commitment & vows, it is just not Kap’s cup of tea, so to speak. He likes to celebrate things simply & quietly with only those near & dear present. Wala naman daw expiration ang pag-ibig namin, bakit kailangan pang mag-renew when his love for me is forever & beyond? 😉 Oh di ba? Ang galing magpalusot nitong OTL ko?

We thought of doing a quickie anniversary getaway just so it’s out of the ordinary , but we would miss the kids too much. Remember? The last time to 2 of us went on a “just us” trip, we were lost -literally & figuratively hehe. The only available schedule for the college kids is on Holy Week, so Kap booked us all a week long holiday to Indonesia, a place we’ve never been & where new adventure awaits. \m/

But of course, anniversaries are meant to be celebrated. Hindi naman pwedeng i-pause at maghintay ng celebration a month after, lalo na’t kung umabot kayo ng 33 years still strong & standing!

Mahal ko, remember 33 years ago when we promised to love each other forever? We had no idea what we would encounter in the future. What difficulties life would send our way, or what joys. Ang alam lang natin, basta mahal natin ang isa’t isa at gusto natin ng habambuhay.

We’ve learned a lot since then -about each other, and about love. There were hard times when our love was the only thing that saw us through. I’m glad that we’ve kept that promise we made so long ago.
