Celebrating 30 at Taal Vista Hotel

Now that the kids are bigger, with our youngest at age 16, I am more confident leaving them behind for romantic getaways. But overnight is all I can handle at the moment. Longer than that & I’d be leaving Kap in an instant to go back home to my babies by any means necessary. I have the greatest separation anxiety, I swear. I fear that something cray will happen at the most inopportune time that I’m not around. This is what the evening news filled with horrors does to a parent -becoming paranoid!

Even when they were much younger, we always took them along EVERYWHERE we went. The whole crew, the kids, the yayas, and the whole house all crammed into a van. Kap was resigned to watching only kids-age-appropriate movies & eating at kids-menu-approved restaurants haha. Now, the hubby has trained me well to let go.. sorta. ;))

For our 30th couple anniversary, I wanted it to be a family affair but Kap put his foot down. He wanted a me-and-him alone time away from all the stress that’s been making me sick & sungit all day err’day. Time to de-stress daw even for a day na wala akong pinakikialaman. The kids can participate a few days after since we’d be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary anyway. But first, a romantic getaway.

And since Kap can’t pry me away from the kids for more than a day, the logistics for our rendezvous would have to be local. Or rather local that doesn’t involve a plane ride, teehee. So Tagaytay with its cool(er) weather & romantic surroundings was perfect for our 30th.

Bombs away! ;)

Our renewal of vows: Kap: I promise to stop you when you over-shop. To pay your monthly installments when you reach your credit limit and all your cards are blocked. Attempt to eat the rest of the food when you over-order (as you always do). To always carry your bags to ease the burden on your knees & back. To make sure you go to the doctor even when you keep delaying the inevitable. To remind you to take your medicines, and to stop your from finishing your dessert because I want you to live long. To understand & love you even at your most sungit peri-menopausal phase, knowing that’s not who you really are deep inside. To love you even until we’re old & gray, and to hold your hand every step of the way. Me: I promise to love you even when you always stop me from shopping to my heart’s content. And when you take me to the cheapest of places. To love you even though you won’t let me order my favorite food (s), to stand proud beside you even though you are not color-coordinated & you flat out refuse to wear long pants to classy places. To love you even though you always make me late & do a grand entrance. To bear you loud phone calls & busyness knowing you are only doing it to secure our future. I promise to love only you not just in this lifetime, but until the next.. and the next.. and the next.

It’s a bit of a walk from the Lakeview Side to Taza Fresh Table. Builds up quite an appetite. ;)

I love the vows! Winner! hahaha…

Intriguing yang watermelon jam… mahilig ako sa pakwan kaya interesado ako diyan. And, you’re right, I think I’d spend that additional P300 to upgrade my breakfast experience. Mukhang mas magandang mag-almusal sa Taza.

Have a great Wednesday, Jane! Naubos na namin sa wakas yung dala kong Aling Aging last weekend, hehehe… Mwah!
