Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant, SM Megamall

Vikings’ very lovely & charming PR & Marketing lady RAQUEL BARTOLOME was so gracious to invite me & my family to the newly opened branch at the new Fashion Hall of SM Megamall around 2 Mondays ago. And just in time too as the kids were winding up their last few days in school & were SO ready for summer break & happenings. m/

Yes, you read it right! Vikings will soon be opening on the 6th floor of SM Aura! As in this coming MAY!!!

With our gracious hostess Raquel Bartolome. Thank you so much for having us & seeing to our every need. We truly enjoyed our family dinner at Viking’s Megamall from the fabulous spread to the friendly, helpful and ever-smiling servers. <3

VIKINGS LUXURY BUFFET RESTAURANT, possibly the largest buffet restaurant in the Philippines, is not new in the food business. It started several years ago & now has 5 branches. The Main in SM Mall of Asia, SM City Marikina, SM North Edsa, SM Lanang Premiere in Davai, and the latest baby which just opened a couple of weeks ago, SM Megamall.

What’s in a name. The Vikings were great warriors who once ruled the seven seas. They are known for their colossal ships, fierce spirit and their extravagant way of life. They believed that the world was theirs for the taking and would regularly hold grand feasts that would last for days on end -not stopping until their every want and need was satisfied. Their legacy of grandiose celebrations continues to this day in Vikings Buffet.

My mighty & VERY HUNGRY warriors! ;))

The restaurant is MASSIVE. To say the least. And yet, there was a very long wait list. Thankfully, Raquel made a reservation for us so we were shepherded in quickly. Better make a reservation at the contact number above if you decide to visit.

My fashionista kids being their usual silly selves! :P

And of course.. there’s me too! V is for Vikings! ;)

The Antipasti station welcomes you as you go in.

I skipped the Salad Station in lieu of other delectable delights. Lels.

Of course, I immediately headed over to the Sushi section to prepare my tummy for what yummy-ness lies ahead..

If I were to eat at Vikings every single day, I would not tire of their sushi & sashimi assortment. So many choices.. so many colors!!! <3

My happy, vibrantly-colored appetizer plate! <3

They have a make-your-own-pizza-and-pasta station! m/ But I decided I wouldn’t carbo-overload to leave room for more important stuff!

Important, substantial stuff like these! ;)

My happy plate #2! <3

They have a Mongolian Station where you can choose all the ingredients to add to your heart’s desire.

I could only look adoringly at these beautiful meat spread but I got too full a little bit too quickly huhu! These are, in order from left to right: Turkey, Ham, and Boneless Lechon!!! <3

And all kinds of Beef parts! Chuck, Rib Eye & Belly!

I got a teensy weensy bit of each, plus some cheese that I just couldn’t resist.

Meanwhile, back at the table, I found 3 hot pots waiting for me! Vikings really has everything, I’m not kidding.

Chinese Noodle Soup

I love Ebi Tempura. These were a bit small for my liking, but when you load up, it’s like you’re eating a jumbo sized Ebi Tempura just the same. :P

I liked the steamed gyoza but again, found them smaller & thinner than I preferred. Maybe it’s really meant to be bite-sized since Vikings has a whole lot of other offerings. ;)

I was delighted to find a whole station of under the sea creatures. But alas, my stomach could only hold so much. :(

Vikings also has a grilling station where you choose your meat & have it cooked exactly the way you like it.

My very happy bunch who loves to eat & eat & eat! <3

Unlike other hotel buffet spreads where you have to pay separately for drinks, Vikings has beverages of all kinds included in the base price. Shakes, soda, fruit juices, BEER, sake, coffee, tea.. name your poison! They have it. m/

Ice cold Twinnings beverages in TEN varieties! I think this is why I got too full quickly. I tried almost ALL that my tummy was sloshing with all the flavored drinks I eagerly consumed with every step I made. Turning 4-5 makes me have hot flashes now & then so these were SO wonderful in keeping me cool throughout!

It was too late when Ate pointed out this Sake. Would have gone well with my sushi & sashimi platter! <!–3

Of course I will ALWAYS make room for dessert! <3

Lots & lots of assorted dessert. <3 I skipped the fruits this time & gave in to my sweet tooth. Kap was going around station to station like crazy so I had my moment. ;P

And another moment! ;)) I really appreciated the freshly cooked puto-bumbong & bibingka. Vikings really thought of everything that could make a foodie very, very happy indeed!

As we were wrapping up our feeding frenzy, yet another person happily celebrated his birthday in Vikings. Big boss celebrated with around 50 of his employees sitting around us..

So naturally, we raised the roof, celebrated with him & joined in the merrymakings. After all, isn’t that what Vikings do?? Eat & be merry? ;) Look, terno pa kaming  nakaUbe ni Kap!

Their reaction to my merriment & food-drunken stupor? Spell it out. —> WoW, LoL MoM!

Even at 9PM, the place was packing! And there were still some people outside waiting to be seated. That’s how well-received Vikings is, so again, MAKE SURE you have a reservation!

By the way, if you don’t know it yet, Vikings has a very special promo for its guests celebrating their birthday there!
