It’s the new season for The Walking Dead. And of course you know how I LURVE zombie shows & movies. Yep, just can’t get enough of them. I guess I’m dark & twisted that way, lels. Kunwari sugary sweet yun pala may tinatagong kakaibang anghang! #ganun
And you know who else shares the same affinity? The Superfriends a.k.a. The Clan! IKR! Who would have thought we’d also like the exact same show?? :P So we made a night out of it last saturday. Never knew zombies would be such a cause for celebration!Had an early dinner at Yabu ATC which just opened a couple of days ago. As expected, it was overly crowded but what can we do? The SF kids wanted katsu. Even if meant more than a hour wait to get a big table to fit all of us (no, they don’t accept reservations). Needless to say, the service was really really REALLY BAD. But the servers were all smiley & pleasant in spite of the busy busy place, which is a huge point booster in my book. Wish I could say the same with the manager though, who was as asim as asim can be that night! Anong problema mo ‘Dong? :P
Sadly we were incomplete again. The big boys had plans of their own.

My ate Marita is the sweetest, and she just loves me so! I swear she is like my ate in every sense of the word. <3 She made me sangria & served me nachos as I watched the apocalypse with bated breath. She really spoils me a lot. Her nachos are really THE BEST! Full of yummy fillings as you can see, no scrimping! m/ Better than Friday’s & Chili’s combined.
The beauty of the basic Sangria recipe is that it is as delicious as it is easy, and it only gets better as you spice it up with your own tasty additions! Really, it is hard to add the “wrong” ingredient here, think favorite fruits, spice and liquors. Even a kitchen noob like me can do it. Chill and enjoy!
Total Time: 5 minutes
1 750 ml bottle of red wine
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
1 Apple cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Shot brandy
2 Cups ginger ale or club soda (I use 7-up)
Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon and orange into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sugar and brandy. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale or club soda (or 7-up) just before serving.
If you’d like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice.
And because zombies are so “IN”, there was a Outbreak Mission right in our neighborhood. But no, I didn’t join. First of all, I can’t run. Secondly, I’m so lampa. And lastly, we (my family & I) are such scaredy cats! Us & the dark with looming zombies? That’s a no-go thank you. Hanggang watch lang ako. My reader, co-blogger, and friend Jeng of Food in the Bag went though, here’s a LINK to his post if you want to know what went on in the Outbreak Mission at Filinvest City.
Outbreak Missions happens on October 4, 18, and 19 at Filinvest City from 10pm onwards. It is no longer merely a run. It is a choice-dependent adventure. Participants will be grouped into teams and asked to complete several tasks by looking for survivors, performing challenges, and uncovering clues around the course. Each choice takes the team to different tasks that bring them deeper into a post-zombie apocalypse world. And the ending depends on the decisions they make while trying (and screaming) hard not to be zombie food. This photo belongs to Outbreak Manila.
I hate that I have to wait for a whole week before I can watch the next episode. Super bitin! :(( Baka may kakilala kayo sa FOX. Can you give me advanced viewing please??? :P
