Socials at The Cafe Hyatt City of Dreams

Blogging has opened up so many doors for me. I’ve met so many interesting people, gotten involved in so many things, and have gone to so many places. It’s a world that I never imagined myself to be in as a young mommy of 3 when I started blogging.

Friend for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime.

There is a saying that goes – Some people come into your life as blessings. Some come into your life as lessons. While some come to your life to teach you to let go. Sure I’ve gotten burned along the way during my short blogging career, having met people whom I thought would stay but unfortunately did not -burning bridges & ending superficial friendships in the process. But I’ve also met some of the most incredible human beings, angels on earth really, who proved to me that there is still kindness & decency in this world after all that’s been said & done.

These are the kind of people who come into your life & you know right away that they were meant to be there. To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are & what you want to become. The kind of people who, when you lock eyes with them, you know that at that very moment, they will affect you positively in some way. <3

I strongly believe that there is really a purpose for everyone you meet. Some people come into your life to test you, some to teach you, some to use you. But in some rare instances, there are also some to bring out the very best in you. Not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever, that’s one painful lesson I have learned & have come to accept. Bukod kay Kap, walang forever. ;P

Girls compete with each other. Women empower one another.

These ladies are surrounded with such good vibes & radiates positive energy that you can’t help but shine along. They aren’t busybodies with an opinion on anything & everything, or the type who are set on putting everyone down in order to raise themselves up. They are quiet yet strong. Godly women who don’t see each other as competition but instead stands WITH you, not AGAINST you. Times with them are not spent on idle gossip on who’s who & what’s new, but rather on how we can complement each other in being the best that we can be.

Save for one, our friendship is young, on its initial stages still. But these are women I really look up to, made quite an impact in my life, I truly admire, and I hope will stay..

The social climber (me of course haha) and the beautiful socialites. Happy to have spent such a fun-filled, food-filled day with power women I look up to so much, admire, and love at The Cafe Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. From bloggers extraordinaire Rica de Jesus of heart2heartonline.com & Karen Young of butterflyinthespring.com (and entrepreneur at karenskitchen.ph) to food experts & also empowered businesswomen Michelle Ramos of Neil’s Kitchen , Leah Dy of Fruits in BloomToccare Spa, & D Furniture Shop, sweet baker Anita Li of Baked by Anita fame. And of course, our beloved muse & host, Ouie Badelles – resident princess of Hyatt. ;)

A couple of weeks ago, we met for a very happy lunch at The Cafe Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. If you are a long time reader of this blog, you know I don’t do ladies lunches. You know I don’t have many lady friends. I mostly bask in the company of Kap or my kids -it is where I am happiest & most comfortable. I am not a social butterfly & I shy away from events. But these ladies have something so pure & beautiful in them that has attracted me & I can’t seem to keep myself away. This is our third time to get together actually, with another one scheduled next week to celebrate Leah’s birthday, and I can say in all honesty that I’ve enjoyed every moment spent with them. No dull moment and every time is a learning experience.

Food for the tummy. As always, I head straight for the freshest catch of sushi, nigiri & sashimi when at The Cafe Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. <3

Next will always be the cheese, meats, fruits & nuts. The Cafe has a great selection. I always manage to choose ALL, lol.

But THIS is what I was saving my tummy space for. The Cafe’s gigantic & imported Steamship Wagyu Beef by Snake River Farm available only on certain days! Make sure you call ahead to ask about this main attraction. <3

My co-CCF’ers Michelle & Karen, ladies I super love & admire for their faith and also for their disposition in life & strength in character! <3 If you only knew their stories, you too would be amazed. Michelle painfully watched her favorite sister succumb to the big C, as well as see her 2 nephews perish in a freak accident some years back. And yet, her faith remains strong & is slowly but surely on her way to healing emotionally. Only a big God can make a big pain go away. Meanwhile, Rica (who is a Tantoco, photo credit to Karen Young) is so simple & down to earth. I am humbled to be in her company as she is so unassuming & friendly. No sense of entitlement at all for these 3 golden ladies -a tough act to follow.

I am doubting if I have anything at all in common with these lovely ladies other than our gender, teehee. I seem to be the only one who had FOUR plates! While they were delicately nibbling here & there, I was full on having the time of my life at the buffet stations, gah! @_@

I love that most of the stations are interactive. Made fresh & personalized for each guest. <3

The happy bunch. They talked & laughed, I listened & ate. ;)) And ate some more. Anita is a warrior, she survived an aneurism at the height of her baking career but is now back in fighting form, by God’s grace & miracle. I knew of her when Ate made a special request for one of her amazing chocolate cakes. It took 3 years for us to finally meet face to face. I am very happy. <3 Leah is the youngest and TALLEST in the group. But don’t let her youthfulness & beauty pageant persona fool you, she is so accomplished with self-founded businesses left & right and busy being the #bosslady in her empire & in her home. Ouie also faced his own battles recently with a health scare but is now in the pinkest of health, I’m happy to see. I am so blessed & honored to be amongst these magnificent warriors.

Jose “Ouie” Badelles is my boyfie in another life hahaha & moonlights as the Marketing Communications Manager when we’re not together. I love him to bits. <3 Also spotted, Executive Chef Chad Ogden, and another good friend, Francis David – Director of Sales & Marketing, Hyatt City of Dreams.

I can still remember my very first time at The Cafe Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. It was love at first sight the moment I saw the delish spread. I got hooked & never looked at another the way I do The Cafe. ;) I knew it was THE ONE. Just as I know in my heart that these ladies are THE ONES. <3 We are, after all – Foodies for the Soul!

Thank you so much dearest ladies for another afternoon well spent. We are certainly ladies who lunch, learn, love, land laugh. :) And thank you Ouie my love for joining us & being our muse for the day haha. Til our next fellowship, love to you all! :-*
