I’m sure you are all aware of how classy a lady JIN PEREZ is right? All her food posts are literally screaming dollar signs & klazz! ;)) She eats only in nothing but the best restaurants in the Philippines & abroad, so when I asked her out on a lunch date because she missed my recent christmas dinner at Phoenix Court with the rest of my guest bloggers, I knew I had to take her somewhere her cultured taste will be more than satisfied. I’m so glad THE BLACK PIG opened just in time.
The Black Pig is a modern european restaurant serving well-curated, European-inspired dishes with Spain’s black Iberico pig as the highlight. They also offer signature draft beers and a good selection of wines.
From the word Charcuterie alone which means cooking devoted to prepared meat products, such as bacon, ham, sausage, terrines, galantines, pâtés, and confit, primarily from pork -PLUS the fact na nag-nosebleed ako, I knew right there & then it would be perfect for Jin who loves to eat well! ;)

The Black Pig was only on its soft opening, but everything worked accordingly when we were there. The food were served promptly and the servers courteous & attentive.
The Black Pig is housed in an almost vacant building with business establishments few & far between, you would hardly know it was there, but the restaurant fills up quickly by word of mouth.
There’s a cute pig outline fronting the entryway which I completely missed. Good thing Jin saw it!
The menu choices were very sparse. Maybe in time there will be more to choose from.
And my beautiful lunch date who could pass for a delicate china doll finally arrived. <3
I really appreciated that Jin was willing to come to Alabang. She knew I would be lost outside my zip code. :P
We were given a full basket of complimentary YUMMY bread assortment. Not only were they fabulous, they were also aplenty! <3 Some restos would give only 3-4 pieces. The Black Pig gave us a basket that would make any starving woman smile! ;)
I knew Jin loved cheeseses so I ordered this cheese selection ahead of time. 580 php
And because I wanted to impress her into thinking I knew how to eat susyal cured meats, I also got us a Charcuterie Board 850 php Huwag niyo na ako tanungin kung anu-ano ang mga yan!
Sausage Selection 520 php
A side order of Crispy Potato Wedges to eat with the sausages 80 php
Ang celebrity blogger (R) at ang closet blogger (L)! ;))
Nahiya ang point & shoot ko sa mga angles ni Jin! May sitting shots na, may standing shots pa.
Pan Seared Tuna 380 php
Pork Belly & Bone Marrow 480 php. The pork belly was soft to the slice, no struggles necessary.
Mushroom Risotto 280 php
It was the feast of the Black Nazarene so my girls were able to join us for lunch. We can learn to be susyal together from Jin! ;)
The complimentary coconut covered mallows. <3
Rum Baba 250 php. The rum was really strong. But I learned from Jin that the trick was to pile things & eat them together for a burst of complimenting flavors. I learned something new yesterday!
Apple Mille-Feville with Vanilla Ice Cream 280 php which I liked better than the Rhum Baba.
Jin’s dessert of choice, the Choco Praline Mousse 290 php which we ALL liked the best! A must-have when you dine in The Black Pig.
See the thick slab of chocolate? That, my friend, is LHAV! <3
With Jin who loves to eat & Jane who loves to eat more! (obviously)
Thank you so much for humoring me Jin. <3 I know you most probably got a media invite to try this new resto but you went with me instead. We had such a fun, wonderful time with you, as always. And thank you for the to die for See’s chocolates. It was halfway empty by the time we got home haha.
