Sumptuous Sunday/HBH part 2

It’s a VERY SPECIAL sunday today!!! m/ it’s my hunny’s ACTUAL birthday!!! <3 Went to morning service to give thanks for my hunny’s 43 wonderful years. Topic today was: Confessions of a Spiritual Leader by bro. Roy Fabella. Please click HERE for a video of his message.

Lunch was unexciting, leftovers from last night :P But the dancing after made up for the lackluster of our lunch! ;)

Went to the fund raising event after.. I was surprised to like REAL STEEL! I thought it was purely a tough guy movie, but it turns out to have a heart! <3 I really really wanna watch it again!

Because it’s a special day, I wanted us to try something new for dinner. Read this article on Salcedo Village. So naturally, I was intrigued (and I was really sick & tired of chinese food already!). Since we’ve never ever been there, I wanted us to try EVERYTHING on the list! ;)) First off.. to Apartment 1B for dinner!

10 Things To Do in Salcedo Village

4. Enjoy a home-cooked meal with a gourmet twist.

If you’re a fan of the Food Network’s “Barefoot Contessa,” and always wondered what it was like in the Hamptons, then you’ll feel right at home at Apartment 1B.  It’s the meat loaf (P450) and roast chicken (P430) that’s garnered them repeat customers according to their servers. The popular neighborhood restaurant “where everything’s good” (as people have been known to say) has been around for some time, but what keeps patrons coming back for more is their consistently good food, attentive wait staff and homey interiors that even Ina Garten would approve of. Apartment 1B is located at One Lafayette Square 132 L.P. Leviste Corner Sedeno Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.  Tel. No. 843-4075

Business Hours: 7:00 AM-11:00 PM
Price Range per Person: Php 501 – Php 1,000
Payment Method: Cash/Credit Card

After 30 minutes of going around & around, and getting lost (HAHA!), we finally found Lafayette square. Apartment 1B is hidden, so you have to look for the Lafayette building instead of the cafe. And as luck would have it, IT WAS CLOSED!!! @_@

So, guess where we ended up eating, anyway!!! ;P Yup, chinese food galore! OMG!!! @_@

I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the mood for chinese, or maybe my taste was off, but in spite of the Tatler rating, I just found the food here so-so…

We still ended up having chinese at Hai Shin Lou.
The Philippine Tatler rated it well from 2007-2011,
so I was kinda okay with it na rin, in the end! :P Like I had a choice!

Crystal Prawns 825.00
Broccoli with Garlic 413.00
Chicken Lemon 540.00
Spareribs with Taro 400.00
Yang Chow Fried Rice 390.00
Beef Brisket Hofan 420.00

After dinner, I was adamant that we try..
1. Indulge in some dipped delights at Chocolate Fire.
One of Australia’s most-loved chocolate havens, Chocolate Fire has been tempting Manila’s crowd with their truffles, desserts, and savory dishes for over a year now. As part of their chocolate line up, they’ve come out with dipped creations to add to their mouthwatering array of truffles and delicacies.
Choose among their sweet ‘n savory line-up of dunked bacon & oink bark (a piece averages P45) and dipped Pringles (P15 each), or if sweet-on-sweet is more your thing, then indulge in one of their dipped USA strawberries (P75 for the medium, P95 for the large, P125 for the extra-large and P140 for the jumbo size).

Salcedo Village, Makati City. Tel. No. 840-3473 Chocolate Fire is located at PDCP Building, Corner of Leviste Street & Rufino Street,

Too bad their strawberry dipped in chocolate was out boohoo! But had fun with their belgian chocolate drinks! CHOCOLATE IS LOVE!!! <3

I have never seen SO MUCH CHOCOLATE in my entire life!!! @_@

They have SUGARLESS!!! Perfect for me!!! ;)
Happy happy birthday, my hunny!!! Here’s to many more happy & blessed years ahead of us. I thank God for the gift of YOU!!! <3 <3 <3
