Le Petit Souffle

Open from 11am to 10pm daily, Le Petit Souffle is a French/Japanese restaurant in Century City Mall that will give you a new perspective on comfort food. If you are a Matcha lover, Le Petit Souffle will be your little slice of heaven. Matcha Pancake, Matcha Souffle, Matcha Latte.. name your matcha, and I’m 90% positive, they have it!

All things green not a match(a) for you? Le Petit Souffle has many things non-Matcha too! Created by non other than culinary rockstar Chef MIKO ASPIRAS of the Scout’s Honor all-things-cookie fame, delight yourself with soups, salad, pasta, breads, soufflé & soufflé pancakes (takes 25-30 minutes to make so make sure to order ahead!), and parfaits!

I am so lucky that Richard always takes Kap & me along his many foodventures! <3 Le Petit Souffle is just one of his buddy Charlie Paw’s many restos in Century City Mall.

The charming Chef MIKO ASPIRAS is calling the shots in this new Japanese/Parisian restaurant. All great things up ahead! We chanced upon him as he busily oversaw the restaurant & divided his time downstairs & upstairs! Busy busy bee this guy is!



And what do I see as I looked up? Hanging rolling pins! I love the quirky & romantic atmosphere in Le Petit Souffle.

As I was uploading the photos, I couldn’t help but admire Kap’s handiwork. I must give him credit for these beautiful shots. <3 I’ll make sure to give him a raise, lol. #HugsAndKisses


Refreshing Fruit Teas served in 1 litter carafes. Fore: Strawberry+Mint+Celery 375 php. Back: Yakult+Guava.



Cold Matcha Latte with Matcha softee 170 php. Also available: Custard softee 75 php in vanilla and matcha flavors, as well as cold drinks like Cold Matcha Latte 130 php. A dessert & drink in one. But of course this doesn’t stop me from having my sweet endings. :P



To get the ball rolling, we had this soup trio: Sweet Corn Potage 195 php. Roasted japanese sweet corn potage topped with salted caramel popcorn & shaved parmesan. Onion Soup 220 php. Caramelized onion soup with bacon topped with gratinated gruyere & emmental. And Japanese Curry Squash Soup 195 php. Summer squash soup with japanese curry, toasted hazelnuts, apple cider & sour cream. Honestly, I couldn’t pck a favorite as they were all very special in their own way. <3



Followed by a beautiful Sesame Crusted Tuna Salad 345 php. Now this is what you call a summer salad! Seared tuna loin, garden greens, shimeji, tobiko with sesame-wasabi dressing on the side. Freshness guaranteed. Just look at that pinkness!



Croque Monsieur 375 php. Croissant with bechamel sauce, black forest ham, and gratinated raclette.



Croque Madame 395 php. Croissant with bechamel sauce, black forest ham, and gratinated raclette & a yolky sunny side up egg.



Mac and Foie 625 php. Definitely not your ordinary & humble mac & cheese. Macaroni with 3 cheeses (sharp cheddar, emmental, and gruyere) with shimeji, crimini, and hungarian sausage.



Vegetarians rejoice! Enjoy this Cold Vegetarian Soba Pasta 325 php. Soba, Shimeji, zucchini, eggplant, bell pepper in a shoyu sauce. I am learning to love cold soba so this is a most welcome dish. <3



My ultimate favorite of the lot though. This Squid Ink Rice 395 php. With seafood, shimeji and a soft scrambled egg on a bed of squid ink rice. The rice is so flavorful & firm, the seafood fresh & aplenty. AHLAVETT! <3



For those with kids, I would highly recommend this Crispy Ramen Chicken 355 php. Crispy shoyu ramen-crusted deep-fried chicken cutlets served with japanese short grain rice & fine cabbage slaw with toasted sesame wasabi dressing. A choice of tonkotsu-wasabi, or buttery sesame sriracha sauce on the side. Best chicken nugget I’ve ever tasted! <3 Truly.



And because one should NEVER pass up a soufflé at a soufflé place, say hello to this Japanese Beef Curry Souffle 525 php. Savory soufflé filled with fine strips of US beef short plate & japanese short grain rice with japanese curry sauce. Noms!

soufflé (French: [su.fle]) is a lightly baked cake made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites combined with various other ingredients and served as a savory main dish or sweetened as a dessert. The word soufflé means “to blow up” or, more loosely, “puff up”—an apt description of what happens to this combination of custard and egg whites.

Every soufflé is made from two basic components:

  1. a French crème pâtissière base/flavored cream sauce or purée
  2. egg whites beaten to a soft peak meringue


How I wish I dug a deeper hole so you can see what’s inside! If you’re a curry lover like me, this is a must.

We must have tried almost everything on the menu! It was certainly a happy lunch. And to cap off our delicious & satisfactory meal, we had these perfect sweet endings..


(R) Matcha Parfait 220 php. Matcha custard base softee with chocolate cake chunks, chocolate sauce, matcha, and coffee jelly, azuki beans, and green tea white chocolate wafer. The matcha was really strong so I just had a teeny tiny scoop. (L) I liked the Strawberry Lychee Parfait 220 php best. Vanilla custard base softer with vanilla cake chunks, fresh strawberries, almond dacquoise, strawberry sauce, lychee & matcha jelly, vanilla wafer, and pistachio. Not in photo (Hmmnnn.. Kap wasn’t paying attention!): Salted Egg Caramel Parfait 220 php. Vanilla custard base softer with salted egg custard, granola, vanilla wafer, caramel, peanut brittle, and almond dacquoise.



Valrhona Grand Crus 375 php. Rich & uber sinful, this little guy is definitely for sharing. Layers of valrhona chocolate: araguani 72% flour less cake, Caramelia 36% sponge, Dulcey 32% Ganache, and Equatoriale 55% ganache. Served with a vanilla bean creme anglaise sauce.

Matcha Souffle Pancake 180 php. I don’t normally take to Matcha, or the color green for that matter. But this is THE BOMB! <3 The matcha taste isn’t overpowering & the sponge cake is so light & fluffy. I will definitely go back for more. This may just be my Le Petit Souffle favorite dessert yet, but next time I’ll order a different flavor: Either the Classic Souffle Pancake 160 php, to the Classic Souffle Pancake with Cream Cheese 200 php.



It’s a fat, spongy pancake! <3



French Vanilla Bean Souffle with Vanila Creme Anglaise 300 php, and Matcha Valrhona Ivoire 35% White Chocolate Souffle with Vanila Creme Anglaise 350 php. I preferred the light & fluffy original french vanilla soufflé over the stronger green-tea tasting matcha soufflé.

Valrhona Guanaja 350 php.  70% Dark Chocolate Souffle with Vanilla Creme Anglaise. This is a frozen souffle version which cooled me off considerably. Plus, I LOVE chocolate, so I was a happy puppy! <3

Kap may be useful for a lot of things, but when it comes to doling out my share, he sucks big time. See my measly portion. Heartbreak! :'(

    Yummm… Matcha – flavored dishes na hindi nakakaumay. For me, it has that ability po na ma-cleanse yung palate eh. Plus, the VALRHONA GUANAJA! Anything chocolate will surely be a hit with me… ;)

    Yey!!! I was hoping you’d cover this place soon once I saw it on your IG feed yesterday.

    There are sooooo many items in their menu that I want to try!!! Dapat mapuntahan na agad yan.

    Best of all, it’s a local, homewgrown business, so I want to support it more than I would a foreign franchise.

      Gora na agad-agad Niel it’s so hot for sure hahaba agad ang pila. Location location location lang kaya hindi sya dinudumog at the moment. Hindi talaga ma-tao ang century city mall. Ghost town kahapon kaya perfect mall for me hehe.

        Went there last night. I love the place! So peaceful and relaxing. Parang nakita ko dun sa Boss Stonibert, though my eyes may be deceiving me.
