Day 2

For our second night, we transferred to La Puesta del Sol #10 at the Estero de Binondo area for a change of scenery. Our first day was spent in the “bustling city proper” of the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort. This time around we were at the more “relaxed area” fronting the gorgeous deep blue sea.

Most of the beautiful homes are at its finishing stages. We were so lucky to have had a first glimpse at what will soon rise a fully completed world-class Filipino heritage resort! <3

The La Puesta del Sol beachfront homes are each unique & distinct. No home is alike. For our second night, we were billeted at the 6-bedroom La Puesta del Sol #10 with a daily rate of P42,000.00/night (for the entire house, or 6 bedrooms) or roughly around 7k/night individually.

La Puesta del Sol 1 – 42,000 • La Puesta del Sol 2 – 333,000 • La Puesta del Sol 3 – 53,000 • La Puesta del Sol 4 – 38,000 • La Puesta del Sol 5 – 34,000 • La Puesta del Sol 6 – 113,000 • La Puesta del Sol 7 – 32,000 • La Puesta del Sol 8 – 81,000 • La Puesta del Sol 9 – 32,000 • La Puesta del Sol 10 – 43,500

We were pleasantly surprised to see our home for the night partly “submerged” in water reminisce of Venice. Sure a canal is a canal is a canal, but I swear, this has to be the cleanest canal ever with round the clock sweeping by a gondolier. (Yes we watched him clean by the hour, lol)

Las-Casas-Filipinas-de-Acuzar-Heritage-Resort-26

Attention to detail is given. Even the balustrades, beams & stair supports were either carved or etched. Beautiful! (On your way out -or in, right by the parking area, you’ll see several single detached units that houses the woodworking, painting, bricking areas/workshops. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has its own round the clock artisans always building, always creating. Too bad I didn’t get to usi!)

We spent a better part of the early afternoon ensconced in our room because of the outdoor heat, which was okay because the kids got to study (and nap). The aircon was really cold, just look at my binalots! ;)) I suggest you bring a light sweater for when you decide to veg in the comforts of your room mid-afternoon when the sun is at its peak.

I must confess, I didn’t know how to use the bidet. 😛 Although the houses by the beach & canal are fairly new, they were constructed in line with Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort’s theme.

Oh! and Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort makes its own organic bath & grooming products! Visit TESS THE FARMER (named after his wife -who is also a passionate interior decorator & designed most of the rooms & interiors) at the town proper beside the Fotografia booth for pasalubong items. On our way out going home, we took a last look back and what do we see? A horse grazing freely at the back of the first house we stayed in! And my young friend NINA CO said there used to be giant roosters gallivanting around. Now that would have been so nice! A mini-farm with animals & miniature horses roaming around in the future maybe?

Before you bid the resort adieu, do look for Casa Baliuag. The Founder occupies this lovely 2-bedroom structure which houses his 4 ATVs, otherwise known as Toys for the big Boys. 😉 From Bulacan, this house was found within the vicinity of the Iglesia ni Cristo in Baliuag. Before being transferred to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort in 2006, this house was utilized as a function room for the members of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Wooden and metal parts of the house have been preserved and restored until today. Year of Construction – 1898; Year of Reconstruction – 2007.

I hope you had a happy birthday weekend mommy. I know you get bored easily but you really have to start living the donya life. 😉 And thank you so much my dearest friend Sarci, and of course Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort for the warmest welcome & full on Filipino hospitality! :-*

Mommy Jane, can you just book 1 room? Or, you have to book the entire house? 🙂

I had been to Acuzar for the first quarter of this year 2015. A lot of construction and improvement is going on but the place is very nice. Its like your transported back in time. Old houses. Lots of it.

We got the beachfront accommodation. At night, when the lights are all on, its like your a time traveler to a long gone era. Strolling along the streets will make you fall in love again with your partner.

For budget conscious individuals, the price is steep from accommodation to food So, plan ahead. I don’t mind the prices. Especially, when I learned that they employ, though not permanently, I think, out -of-school youths for their cultural shows.

Be wary of their reservation manager. Courtesy is not her strong suit. And she’s not that knowledgeable about the accommodations.

For example, when I inquire about reservation for the whole building, she answered what room. Wow! We are living both in different worlds. I asked again to compute our two night stay, she again replied that she can’t because there are other expenses. I said “like what?”. She said “food”.

Could we not order at their restaurants nowadays? Is this a change in their policies? Must we order everything at the reservation beforehand? I just ended the conversation with a “thank you for your time”.

Although a bad experience at their reservation, this must not deter you to see this place.

I have been planning to go there again next year with my friends. Hopefully, I will let my secretary to do the legwork. Its just too stressful to talk to her.

Hi Sonja! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me & my readers. I truly appreciate constructive feedback. It’s true, no matter how nice the place is service is bad, the whole experience is down the dumps. Hopefully they have already trained their staff well by now & the time that you called was an off time for the individual haha. The place truly is spectacular, albeit pricey -I have to agree. 🙂 I’d love to visit it again in a couple years’ time to see what new things are in store.
