Food & Dining My Kids

Scarsdale Artisanal Delights

We were in search of the elusive HAWAIIAN PUNCH. All the stores in our area don’t carry it, I really don’t know why. So we thought of going farther. It’s not often that my babyson actually wants something. It’s always “it’s fine mom” or “no thank you mom” whenever I ask him if there’s anything at all that he wants or needs. It’s so frustrating that I can’t give him anything! He is the most unmaterialistic person I know.. gosh, he’s his dad’s son! :P

So now that I know he likes this particular drink, I have made it my life’s mission to look for it! Which brought us to S&R Mandaluyong. Unfortunately, they also don’t carry it huhuhu. The only thing that kept me from crying was this..

You have to enter the left gate of S&R if you’re coming from S. Laurel street. If you take the right gate you have to pass through the parking of S&R and make a u-turn at the gate.

SCARSDALE is brought to you by the same people of Go Nuts Donuts. Chef Carlo Miguel of DRAFT & Opus fame was brought in to the team by owner TINA LAGDAMEO to partner up & cook up a different, more gourmet-y approach to the ordinary donuts & croughnuts.

SCARSDALE uses unsweetened donuts & baked croughtnuts as buns for the savory meals. Definitely a different take on sandwiches. And definitely more sinful. That alone made me wanna try all –andale, andale!

There are 10 different kinds of sandwiches, 11 croughnuts and 17 doughnut flavors. So many choices, so little tummy space huhuhu.

Because Go Nuts Donuts is their sister company, Scarsdale carries the complete line of the cookie spreads. Too bad I’m really not into sweet spreads.

The cafe is big, spacious, and with good lighting streaming from outside & inside.

Scarsdale makes their donuts & croughnuts fresh on site & fries them on the spot in their in-store bakery. There is a window to the right of the stairway on the photo above where you can see how the donuts are made.

My girls loved the soho & industrial feel of the decor as well as the the visible pipes and have instantly declared it their apartment peg. ;) Not that they can get away from me anytime soon. :P

I love that I can always use my girls as models on an otherwise common take. They always make a pretty picture. <3

My blooming baby who is growing up to be equally lovely as her Ate. <3

Being a first-timer, I wanted to try all. <3 From the donut sandwiches to the Croughnut selection. And I’m not even in dessert mode yet!

To slowly ease our way into the groove, we got the Mini savory donut poppers (6 pcs) 120 php. Seen here are: Honey Truffle with Green Apple, Jalapeno Cheddar, and Tartufo. (100 php for the sweet ones)

Next came the Jalapeno Fries 50 php. Which were too few for my liking.

Ate got the Tomato Soup and a Melted Cheese Doughnut Panini set 150 php. She was happy to learn that his was new on the menu. Just in time for her visit!

Cheeseburger Donut 180 php. 150 grams of US angus beef patty , tomato, cucumber, onions, lettuce, ketchup & mustard. Good thing our sandwiches came with its own set of  fries.

Chicken Pot Pie Croughnut 160 php. Diced chicken, sauteed onions, celery, carrots, green peas & herbs simmered in cream.

Fetuccine Alfredo 180 php, another new item on their menu. I was smiling from ear to ear upon seeing that it has so many delightful things mixed in. And the serving was pretty big too. And to think I was worried it might be too bland. <3

Spread for us 3 girls. Konti lang diba??? ;))

And because we just can’t get enough of those lovely donuts, we brought 6 home.. Elvis (peanut butter with dark chocolate ganache, bacon bits & bananas), Buttered popcorn, Apple Pie croughnut, Red Velvet, Smores, and Coffee con Leche. <3

This Apple pie spoke to me the loudest! ;) 100 php.

Okay, we ATTEMPTED to take 6 home but ended up eating 4 halves right there & then! :P Ate just sniffed the contents of the box.

And guess what! For every 300 php you get a stamp. 5 stamps get you freebies. And I JUST LOVE FREEBIES! Don’t you??? ;)

I so love my girls! They are sugar, spice & everything nice. <3 My life would really be so sad & boring without them. They put the SUN in SUNSHINE! ;)

Saw a P&B cafe across. Wonder what it’s all about. Might just go back another Saturday to find out! ;)
