We have been planning to visit this new posh casino complex, City of Dreams the whole holidaze but the kids wanted to wait for their cousins to come back from their vacay in the U.S. so we can all go together. That’s how much we love the Buensalidas. :)
Tamang-tama ate Marita’s sister came home with them to visit from a good number of years living in the States, so natuloy na ang dream namin to finally set foot in the City of Dreams! (pun intended) :P
With Ate Cora & my dear Ate Marita whom I have missed so very much! <3 For my OOTD: Knitted black top from ZARA, The sparkly necklace was a new year’s gift to me by the kids from H&M, Givenchy bag, a loan from Ate -as you know she dresses me haha. My leggings from Forever 21. And my comfy espadrilles from ZALORA.COM.
The girls & I share the same shoe size. Between 8.5-9 so it’s hard to find big sizes. I’m so thankful for ZALORA.COM where I can buy my comfy shoes online like the one I’m wearing on the previous photo. <3
I wanted to pick a pretty flower for my hair as a pop of color for my all-black outfit (which ATE says is a no-no & Anna Wintour frowns on it), but the guard kept shooing me away, trolololz!
Mga fashion police! :P
I was worried if the kids will be allowed entry coz it’s first & foremost, a casino. But they were lenient at Solaire as long as kids kept to the uncarpeted areas (carpeted areas = casino proper but there were narrow uncarpeted walkways within that you can use to cross or take a short cut). So we took a chance last week. Security is actually tighter in City of Dreams. And no short-cuts in the casino area so if you have kids, be prepared to go around (the long way) to get to the restaurants.
More on City of Dreams on my next post. I will concentrate on RED GINGERmuna & share with you the many delightful dishes we ordered. One thing really nice about dining with the Buensalidas is they are also foodies. The LOVE to eat so our combined orders are usually enough to feed a small army. ;))
Situated above the main casino floor and right opposite the Poker area is RED GINGER CITY OF DREAMS, an all-day (24 hours???) casual dining offering Vietnamese/Thailand fare, if I were to base it on the menu and the dishes we ordered (they don’t have a facebook or web page yet to describe the restaurant)..

I called City of Dreams for a reservation because it was the long weekend of the Papal visit when we went. And a Sunday to boot. I spoke to a certain FRANCES of GUEST SERVICES at +632 800 8080 and she gave me a confirmation number #57a5. However, when we got to Red Ginger at 6:30, 30 minutes earlier than our 7 PM reservation, they couldn’t find our booking! @_@ I’m just so glad they were still able to seat all 12 of us together or I would have searched far & wide for this FRANCES & give her a big piece of my mind! So I suggest you ask for the restaurant’s number DIRECTLY and call there to book your reservation. :)
These great-looking desserts greeted us as we entered so I knew I was in for a very good time! ;)
To the right is the casino’s poker area..
Which my kuya Rolly “checked out” as soon as we were seated. He is EXTREMELY lucky in the tables. Out of his 1k, this is what came back. More than double, I’d say! ;)) Libre na their share of the food haha!
This area was blocked off so since they couldn’t find our reservation, we had to wait a while to be seated on the other side..
Compli starters.. Tuna ceviche. This is OH. SO. GOOD. It was a preview of good things to come. <3 Bitin lang haha!
And while we waited, THIS! ;)) Aside from food, The Buensalidas & Gos also love to take photos.. and selfies, two-fies, and we-fies! ;))
THROWBACK! ;)) #two-fie
#three-fie ! :P Ay hindi daw pala “fie” kasi ako ang kumuha!
Our multiple orders took a while to arrive considering there were only a few guests that night. I guess they were still nangangapa. But the food was DEE-LICIOUS so ok lang. Tuna Tartar 294 php. Just add the usual tax & service charge to all the prices below.
Red Ginger Slaw 160 php.
Vietnamese Rice Paper Roll 276 php.
Thai Fish Cake 196 php. zOMG no words. Please, just order. A LOT!!!
Chicken wings 285 php.
Beef Salad 366 php.
Honey Pork Belly 366 php.
Angus Beef Cheek 482 php. A little warning, malakas ang indian aftertaste (lemon grass & curry) so if you’re an indian food lover like me, you’d like this. MUST BE EATEN WITH RICE otherwise nakaka-umay.
The super-kaduper winner for me that night! <3 Char Kway Teow 348 php. WINNER!! <3
And also this Nasi Goreng 392 php. I really didn’t want to share. It was a mix of all sorts of wonderful. Just take my word for it!
My least favorite though, if you were to ask me which I favored the least that night, would have to be this Squid Pork Belly 321 php. It tasted like chop suey lang to me. But still good.
zOMG I forgot about this. Please add to my top 3!! <3 Pork Ribs 482 php. I find RED GINGER really a bit on the pricey side but super sulit because we really loved EVERY SINGLE DISH. And that says a lot. For us to love ALL.
Not even complete yet. Yez, We are pigs. :P
Happy pigs nonetheless. <3
The family that eats together stays together & more importantly, GETS FATS TOGETHER! @_@
Tender moment. <3
Or not. ;))
We were really too stuffed for anything else after our main meal. BUT, how do you say no to dessert, right???
Chocolate Tart 225 php. Biter dark chocolate. Perfect for me & ate. The rest of the GOppets preferred the other one though..
Pineapple Tart 177 php.
ATTACK MODE ON!
RED GINGER City of Dreams is not in any of the hotels surrounding to the Casino complex. It is located at the 2nd floor of the Boulevard where the main Casino is located. There is a more affordable dining area at the ground floor called NOODL8 but it’s inside the casino so it’s restricted for people below 21 years old. Here’s a menu should you be interested. (Thank you Ate for getting me a copy! <3) Maybe Kap & I will visit it one of these days & also try a little luck on the slots. ;)
Make your own noodle bowl for less than 300 php!
My post on the rest of City of Dreams (or at least the part that we were able to visit) Tomorrow. :) Laters baby!
