Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar

My Lovey is not a sporty gal. So when she asked me if I could buy her a pair of ROSHE RUNS which retails from $115 up depending on the design. I was surprised, but I said YES nonetheless.

Roshes are shoes inspired by the practice of meditation and concept of Zen, the Nike Roshe Run iD epitomizes simplicity. It has no embellishments, just basic shoe necessities brought to life with every detail. Almost every part of the shoe reflects an aspect of a tranquil Zen garden: a modified Waffle outsole made to look like stepping stones, an insole that mirrors a raked rock garden, and slightly different midsole side lengths—a juxtaposition of seriousness and playfulness.

She happily called all the Nike stores in & out of our area but couldn’t find a stock. Even online, stocks were scarce & she was somewhat sad & disappointed. Even her kuya would always look at stores when he’s out in search of the hard-to-find shoes.

Her Ate, being such a good older sibling, searched Instagram for online sellers & found one her size & in the color that she wants too. So we went all the way to Valle Verde in Pasig to purchase the coveted shoe. We work as a family to make sure everybody is happy. ;))

There’s a shoe boutique at the 3rd floor of the ATAYDE  home in Valle Verde 6 that sells limited edition, hard-to-find (close to impossible) ORIGINAL shoes. And lemme tell you, they’re not exactly cheap!

Can you tell she’s happy & giddy? :)

Since we were already in Pasig, I thought of taking them to PERI PERI CHICKEN as my Lovey has been wanting to try NANDO’s CHICKEN because she follows ZOELLA, a popular youtuber who is crazy about the Portugese chicken.

Admitedly, Peri Peri is not Nando’s, it’s not even a franchise, but it was the closest we could get. And I’m all about giving them what they want.. within reason of course. :P

Peri-Peri Chicken

G/F Greenhills Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan (02) 725-5270

Peri Peri is an old restaurant at the Promenade but it just recently finished a complete renovation, thus the welcome balloon arch.

This stairway leading to the seating area, which is the only entry & exit point, makes it hard for people with disabilities though. What’s up with that?

I saw photos of the “BEFORE”. All I can say is, I’m liking the “AFTER” a whole lot better. ;) It’s bright, well-lighted, and colorful. Looks hecka fun too!

Any time with my lovely girls is party time! :)

Piri-piri, peri-peri or peli-peli is the name used in Portuguese and a number of African languages to describe the African bird’s-eye chilli.

Ms. Piggy’s motto: Why get a quarter, or even a half, when you can get a WHOLE???

What makes this chicken different from the rest is that after the chicken is roasted for 30mins, it is then cooked a second time at a spit fire oven before finally being served to the guests. Giving it that charcoal-ed look.

Pair it with the dirty rice & you have the perfect meal. Oh, no, I forgot. Add the sauce, then you get the perfect meal! <3 (Not this gravy -forget that. I’m talkin’ about the sauceses below!)

So many to choose from, but nothing beats the original for us. So that’s what we got. And we were VERY happy. We even bought a bottle for take home. ;)

Did I mention that we got TWO WHOLE CHICKEN for our dinner??? Yup, that’s just for the 3 of us! :P

I believe we just found our 2nd most favorite chicken house. And just our luck for it to be so far away as well! :|
