A Little Help From Your Friends

Hum with me this Beatles song: I get by with a little help from my friends..

I’m really happy with how the kids are turning. Even though Kap & I try to give them things they want on top of the things they need whenever we can, they still know how to save us money when need be.

Putting 3 kids in school is no joke. Tuition alone is a killer, let’s not discount the gas, driver, e-pass load, food allowance & others. And on top of that, their text books are so expensive.

Kap & I set aside a certain amount for their books & school supplies but we were so happy to discover that the kids are using their pagka-maabilidad to save us money on books they can borrow or inherit from their generous friends.

A thick bio book is worth thousands. Wala na yatang college textbook ngayon na below 1k hay. Last Sunday, Ate asked if we can take her to see her friend who will be lending her textbooks. It would certainly save her around 5k for the 3 books alone. Kap & I are so grateful that they know the value of money & feel for their parents.

My Lovey is amused because this is actually take 10! @_@ I keep cropping off their heads haha!

Black & White. That look, lol. I can read Ate’s bubble thought here: “OMG, we’re TWINS!”

The 2 beauty queens. Ms. Bio & Ms. Science. <3 Em is on to med proper at FEU so she generously gave her past books to my gorj Ate. Thank you so much Em! :-*

And because Ate saved us on books, time to reward them for being such good kids.

The kids love the sushi take outs from Rustan’s Fresh. So we let them pick to their hearts’ content.

For dessert, PAPER MOON is trending so naturally the kids also wanted to try it. Paper Moon is in Glorietta 3. You won’t miss it, it’s along the hallway lang with seats at the aisle.

I’m certainly glad the line wasn’t OA crazy on a Sunday! :| The mall was super hot & crowded and I didn’t wanna stay a second more than necessary.

We were hoping to take home several flavors to try. Unfortunately, only the Original was available. Ubos na the rest.

Mille crêpe. Paper-thin handmade crepes delicately stacked to form a twenty-layer cake. zOMG! <3

Just for those 20 layers, it was worth the 30 minute wait. Hay. We got a whole cake, 2k. Ang mahal!

But it’s sooo worth it! Not too sweet, light & fluffy. Topped with caramel. Super sarap naman pala talaga. If you want to get hold of the other flavors, the Paper Moon staff suggested that we pay in advance & get our order the next day. Hello, GLORIETTA???

The other week, I heard Ate calling her school friends to ask if my babyson naman can borrow their 1st year textbooks. Bayanihan project sila, I’m such a proud mommah. Ang sarap nilang mahalin diba?

You certainly can get by with a little help from your friends.. and chocolates. Always chocolates! ;)

Ate got Em some Italian Chocolates from Bacchus Epicerie as a token for the love. Yan naman din ang gusto ko sa mga anak ko. Marunong sila. Not quid pro quo, tit for tat, but they know how to say thank you in a nice way. <3
