I’ve noticed that my hair is getting drier & drier by the day. I must admit, I’m not a high maintenance girl in terms of beauty. Spending time in the parlor just isn’t my thing, I get REALLY bored waiting and waiting. Forever waiting. So unless it’s my usual roots coloring -because I really look taray with dark hair, or my regular mani-ped (coz a lady should always have well-manicured hands & feet), I don’t go in for hair treatments & the like. I try to keep away from the salon or skin centers if I can.
And so, my hair is really damaged. I’ve tried all from gugo (which I found out makes it EVEN drier) to the katas of the aloe vera plant in our back yard. My mom even bought me my very own Hot Oil steamer so I can treat my hair every so often at the comfort of my own home since I can’t take long periods at the salon. Nada. No effect. So I just let it be. But of course, I’m concerned.
Good thing SAMPLE ROOM sent me this product, Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner, to try. Now I’m not going to lay it out & say it works wonders because I’ve tried it only once (So far, so good though). But I will be using it in the next few days in high hopes that it can help my hair look alive at least, if not healthy.
With up to 80% more key conditioning ingredient vs. Pantene’s regular conditioner, Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner contains the highest ever level of advanced Terminal Amino-Silicones (TAS), which flatten and smoothen the outer layer or the cuticle cells on the hair surface. This helps protect the hair’s inner structure or cortex, preventing future damage and moisture loss from styling. By protecting the moisture balance of hair, Pantene 3 Minute Miracle transforms brittle, rigid and damaged hair to touchable, soft and beautiful hair.

Hair is the fastest growing natural tissue in the human body: the average rate of growth is 1 cm per month. Optimal growth occurs from age 15 – 30 and reduces from age 40 – 50. The speed of hair growth varies based upon genetics, gender, age, hormones. It may be reduced by nutrient deficiency and hormonal fluctuations (i.e., menopause, polycystic ovaries, thyroid disease).
Dry hair occurs when your hair does not receive enough moisture. This reduces its sheen and can make your hair appear frizzy, lifeless, and dull. Dry hair can affect men and women of any age.
The thyroid gland is an important endocrine gland that controls the body’s metabolism. It is a small butterfly-shaped gland located in the front of the neck just below the Adam’s apple. The thyroid gland produces the hormones tetraiodothyronine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).
Together these hormones regulate how your cells use energy. The pathways by which cells use energy is called metabolism. Your body’s general metabolism determines blood pressure, heart rate, and weight. Symptoms are: increased sensitivity to cold, constipation, depression, fatigue, weakness, heavier menstrual flow & brittle hair and nails.
* NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES
The recommended daily amount (RDA) of a nutrient is determined by how much the body needs to stay healthy. Nutrients can be obtained in a variety of ways—from eating a varied diet to taking vitamin supplements.
A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body doesn’t absorb the necessary amount of a nutrient. Deficiencies can lead to a variety of health problems, such as problems of digestion, skin & hair problems, stunted or defective bone growth, and even dementia.
Aside from taking external care of our hair with Products & Treatments such as PANTENE PRO-V 3 MINUTE MIRACLE, it is also important that we take into consideration the general care & well-being of our body by eating these healthy hair food:
1: Salmon & Mackerel provide omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin B-12 and iron.
Essential omega-3 fatty acids support scalp health. Deficiency can result in a dry scalp and dull hair.
2: Dark Green Vegetables. Spinach, broccoli and Swiss chard, provide vitamins A and C used in sebum production (secreted by hair follicles)
3: Beans & Legumes (kidney beans and lentils) provide protein, iron, zinc, and biotin. Biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.
4: Nuts. Brazil nuts are a natural source of selenium. Walnuts contain zinc and alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help hair condition. Pecans, cashews and almonds also contain zinc. Zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding.
5: Poultry provides the high-quality protein and iron with a high degree of bioavailability.
6: Eggs are sources of protein, biotin and vitamin B-12 – important beauty nutrients.
7: Whole Grains. Fortified whole-grain breakfast cereals, containing zinc, iron, and B vitamins are important.
8: Oysters provide zinc – a powerful antioxidant.
9: Low-Fat Dairy Products. Calcium, Whey and Casein are important minerals for hair growth sourced from skimmed milk and yogurt.
10: Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A.
