O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! Much pleasure thou can’st give me; O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! Much pleasure thou can’st give me; How often has the Christmas tree Afforded me the greatest glee! O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! Much pleasure thou can’st give me.
Our tree is UP!!! m/ I wanted to wait until 11.11.11 sana, wala lang haha just so there’s something special for that particular day. But I really really couldn’t hold off any longer!!! ;)) I just had to have it up today! :P
All my ornaments are old na, around 6-8 years? All from florasilk. But I believe in buying quality over quantity, so I’m really proud of how my christmas decors are holding up. So worth every penny.
My motif has always been gold & burgundy to match our living room area. So I just add ornaments once every 1-2 years so we don’t get bored with the same old decors. Also, my lights are built in, so I don’t have to worry about untangling miles & miles of endless christmas lights, or buying new ones for that matter. It’s a great idea to use a fiber optic tree, similar to the one we have. You just need to replace 1 bulb -if ever. Sunog-proof pa! Just make sure you unplug it before going to sleep or stepping out of the house! ;) For tips on tree decorating, click HERE.
How does fiberopticChristmastree work
At one end of the fiber optic cable is a light, which shines into the cable. Because it is an ordinary light, it doesn’t go perfectly straight, but veers off in various directions. When the cable is bent, it causes the light to veer even further. There are 2 color setting, the plain yellow or the multi-colored lights. I always use the plain yellow setting.
Here are some of my trusted ornaments. It’s also safe to stick to 3-4 varieties so your tree doesn’t look so cluttered & themeless.
I have 3 small santa ornaments. I for each of my babies! :)
I stuck to just gold & burgundy balls to play safe with our living room motif.
Another variety on my burgundy/gold motif for christmas balls
and dragonflies for a bit of whimsy! :)
Some pearl chandeliers to break the monotony of all-balls.
This year, I got a new hat for Mr. Santa! ;) The feet moves & a carol sings when you press a button.
Tada.. presenting our humble tree!!! <3
And LOOK!!! There’s already a christmas gift under our tree!! Guess whose name is written on the very first christmas gift… FOR MOMMY!!! That’s ME!!! Aren’t I just the most special in their eyes & heart??? ;) <3 <3 <3
Gift from my babies!!! <3 Aren’t they just the sweetest??? :-* Btw, the pooh tree skirt I got years ago form disney online. It’s personalized with the names of the 3 kids. This matches the 3 stockings I also got online for them. I will always always use this tree skirt even when they’re all old & gray! :)
Our doorway is spruced up as well..
I always add cute & fun details when decorating our home, it will always be the child in me I guess! ;P
Our moose wall decor that welcomes everyone into our home.
Grapes, chinese sign for prosperity. But I like it for it’s plumpness haha! ;))
The outside is waiting to be “dressed up”…
I’d love to gussy it up with big shiny light-up moving objects, but we just don’t have the bodega to keep things after! :(( For now, it’s just the small capiz lanterns hanging down from our roof. I’ll see what I can do to liven up our front yard! ;))
To celebrate the “debut” of our tree, we ordered in from Omakase, had an indoor picnic, & opened a bottle of wine. ‘Tis really the start of the holiday season when bubblies are brought out! ;))
Omakase delivers a yummy party platter great for dining in. 1.5k/platter of 50 pcs. Yes, the 4 of us finished off this delish assorted sushi platter in 1 sitting, hahaha! :P
Once again a tennis widow on a wednesday night. Ate was my social-drinking buddy tonight. The 2 minors had iced tea.
White wine, perfect pairing for the yummy sushi assortment.
Capped of with wonderful mochi balls for dessert! <3
Wined & dined under the “stars” & listened to chill music while we ate our fill.
Yes, this is definitely the life! ;)) Goodnight everyone, time to wind down put the 3 glasses of wine I had at dinner to good use. ZZzzzzzzzz…
