Food & Dining My Kids

Poetry & Prose Patisserie

If you read my previous post, I wrote about Kap & the 2 older kids’ nth dive trip to Anilao, Batangas. My Lovey & I decided to stay behind because water isn’t really much our “thing”. :P

We are normally homebodies, my Lovey & I. We can stay in the room the whole day just reading, or surfing the net (she watches youtube videos while I update my blog posts for you my dear readers), but I don’t know, our room suddenly felt so depressing without the noise makers.

So we decided to have a girly bonding time somewhere far. Or far from us at least haha. Pasig is the farthest we will go, city-wise. And so, we decided on Shangrila Mall coz it’s a place we don’t frequent. Plus it’s big, so we can easily kill a day there. Walang kaduda-duda.

I googled for restaurants in the mall so we can try something new, and Poetry & Prose Patisserie came up. It sounded girly. Further googling proved my hunch. Perfect for my date with my Lovey! <3

Poetry & Prose Patisserie

Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Shaw Blvd., Wack Wack, Mandaluyong (02) 631 0420

Poetry & Prose Patisserie can be accessed both ways. Outside the mall, and inside. It’s in the old wing beside Brotzeit.

True enough, Poetry & Prose Patisserie was a girly-girl’s dream cafe. Sugar & Spice and all things nice! <3

The price points are competitive. Not TWG levelz! ;) They have flavored teas so you can enjoy an afternoon TÊTE-À-TÊTE here.

Here. What’s available.

I enjoyed looking at all the colorful & beautiful pastries. Look only, no touch. bawal! :P Hello Insulin.

YUM! <3

Looking around I saw this. FREE DESSERT with every main entree. Sulit-dot-com! Ma-try nga.

I was torn between Moroccan Chicken & Dark Chocolate Beef Stew. Chicken won over the beef.

My pretty date. <3 Thank you for staying with me my darling & keeping me company the whole weekend. :-*

Breakfast Scones 185 php. Fresh-baked sconed served with a generous side of clotted cream. (Gruyere and Sundried Tomato/ Ham). Truly delightful. <3

Pumpkin Soup 125 php. I loved this rich flavorful soup & wiped it clean.

Eggs Benedict 355 php. Carved forest ham, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce on toasted English muffins.

A bit bland so my Lovey used some seasonings.

My Morroccan Chicken 305 php. Moroccan-style spiced chicken breast fillet grilled & served with couscous & sautéed vegetables. Chicken breast is hard to serve moist so I really have high respect for chefs who can pull it off. However, this chicken of mine was REALLY DRY and tough. 2 bites was all I could manage.

See? Reeeally dry I’m telling you. Pati couscous. Too bad.

Meanwhile, this crepe was also very disappointing because they were after all, a patisserie. This should be one of their expertise. Chocolate Crepe 335 php. A heaping helping of special blend of chocolate richness, folded in chocolate crepes. but it was so hard, bordering on old.

The complimentary Mille Feulle with my main course. I’m starting to think that their food is lovely to look at. But not to eat.

When we were there, the owner was interviewing a chef. I hope it was just an off day. They should improve on their food, sayang naman the place if it’s only nice to look at, but not to eat.

Masyado na yata akong na-spoil sa mga events. Nag-level up na ang food standards ko! :P

Been here before, but I only tried their Paris-Brest Pastry (which I liked). Sad naman na ganyan pala ang mga main course nila.
