My Kids Others

Multi-Direction

A few weeks ago, we went to my Lovey’s school to get her transcript of records (which incidentally takes 7 working days to process). Wow, they have a new system. And the office is spanking brand new! They have several windows for many different purposes aimed to make life easier for the parents. My first impressions was, para akong nasa bangko. With matching numbered tabs!

So I took one. For the records. Pila. I waited in line for my turn. It’s a good thing it was still summer vacation so there were just a few people. After 5 minutes or so my number was called & I went to the window to fill up a form for request. Then the staff said I have to go to another window to pay, then go back to her after I have finished paying.

And so a rigodon began. My personal trip to Jerusalem started. I got another number for finance this time. After 5 minutes of waiting, my number was called so I went to pay. But my half ordeal doesn’t stop there.

After finally paying 150 pesos, I had to get yet another number so I can show my receipt to the staff in the first window I visited. Had I known ahead of time, I would have gotten several numbered tabs for the different windows periodically while waiting. It’s a good thing there weren’t too many people or I would have gone ballistic.

Not on a hot summer day please. I don’t have the patience. I wouldn’t have minded as much during the cooler months, mas malamig ang ulo ng mga tao. I just humored myself by taking pictures, much to my Lovey’s chagrin (Mom, this is a school. Please stop taking pictures!)

Zobel, there is something seriously wrong with your new system. Maybe there is a way for busy parents to do/request for things online? But then again, that’s not my problem anymore. 😛

After 3 queues & 3 stubs, I finally got my receipt. I will go back after 7 working days to get the transcript. One window nalang, hopefully. Pasukan na yun. Nightmare on elm street! @_@

Heeenyway, thank you & goodbye. It’s been a good 2 years. <3 Thank you Lord for small schools & less complicated systems. Hay buhay!

Thank you for a great 2 year experience for my kids. We will never forget you! <3

Ang OA naman ng systema nila! Baka they’re training the children to be politicians and beureaucrats by instilling extreme red tape in their system while they’re still young! LOL!

Governments around the world are being surveyed by the World Bank yearly in something they call “Doing Business” report, and one of the aspects of said report is the “ease of doing business” grading the governments on how little red tape and how fast can one open a business in their city or country. The less red tape, the higher their rank. Zobel should take a page out of that book and improve their “ease of doing business” grade by cleaning up the multiple steps you have to take for simple tasks like getting a transcript.

For the record, I also got my niece’s transcript from Sacred Heart Academy (bec. she’ll be studying in the US already) and I only filled out a form and paid for it… tapos na. The population of that school is the same as or greater than zobel’s.

Kasi after graduating at USTe, I studied an Associate course for Accountancy in La Salle Lipa and mahihilo ka din sa pabalik-balik. But I po dyan, 1 lugar lang but different windows. Dati dun sa La Salle Lipa, iba-iba building! Nakakalokah… Hehehe… Ewan ko lang po now.

Anyway, goodluck to Jena on her new school! 🙂

Hay last year iba-ibang lugar din. Actually mas ok na nga this year kasi windows nalang ang pupuntahan. 😛

Hehehe… In this modern age of computers and android phones dapat po may app na sila na pwede online transaction para dun na lahat pati payment. Para pupunta na lang sa school to pick up yung transcript…

    good riddance ba? ooooops, sowi.

IF and IF I need to put my son in a school somewhere in the south, this is a great reminder that I should not put him in a very big school.

Actually, every school opening may anxiety attack siya, new classmates kasi daw. Maybe you can share some tips on how to make him less anxious?

Si Lovey tiniis lang talaga the last 2 years pero nagpupumiglas. Hindi sya for big crowds, pareho sila ni Franquito. They dwell better in calmer, less stressful environment.

Hahahaha! May natutunan nga ako sa iyo lately: if you’re too tired to go to just bantay the kids, hire a bodyguard. So shala pa.

Big schools really are a pain =( but at least you are in one place even on different windows.

I inquired for an Master in Education Program major in Information Technology Integration in a university in Katipunan (since my mom hoped any child of her gets to study there) and I got lost in transition :)) Goodluck to Jena in her new school! 🙂

Very helpful talaga you’re blog Ms. Jane, not only sa decisions para sa ikabubusog ng tyan ko but also how to handle parenthood iniisip ko to send my Nursery girl to Zobel this school year but somewhere inside me felt na di pa sya ready sa big school. Ngayon narealize ko tuloy na I also have to think what she wants and not just decide on what school to choose just because of it’s name and performance but also the kind of environment na gusto ng anak ko.

    Winner ka po talaga.

Uuuuuy kinilig naman ako chesca sa papuri mo thank you! 🙂 You know your daughter best if she’s a people person & very sociable then she’s enjoy a big school. But if she’s the shy type & tahimik then yeah I guess better to ease her gently & start her sa smaller crowd. Balitaan mo ako saan ka mag-enrol good luck ches mwah! :-*
