There’s a new Department Store in town, literally. Metro Gaisano is in Alabang Town Center!
We are always in ATC but yesterday was the only day I could drum up any interest to step inside. It was undeniably quiet, as it just opened around 2 weeks ago. I don’t think alabangers are too excited as we are already surrounded with department stores & they more or less offer the same wares -just different brands.
Let me count the ways.. There’s Robinson’s Department Store in Festival mall. There’s another Robinson’s in Star Mall. There’s Shopwise also in Festival Mall. There’s SM Department Store in South Mall. And of course there’s Rustan’s Department Store. I think to be successful, you either have to be super upscale (rustan’s), or super low-scale (SM). You can’t be in between because there’s only 2 kinds of target audience, the sosi & the masa.
I think the upscale alabang clientele get more excited with boutiques & new restaurant openings. Medyo mali yata ang location location location ni Metro? This is what greeted us when we stepped inside..
There’s a connection to Metro via the new wing in Alabang Town Center.
Sadly, it’s VERY empty.
My babyson bought another Molten CG-7 indoor basketball (1,800 php) para naman bwena mano kahit papaano! ;P
Empty counter. But hurrah for smiling & super friendly sales ladies :)
At least may Cover Girl for ate‘s favorite lipstains! ;)
On to the grocery downstairs.
There’s a Pharmacy & a flower shop. At least walang pila unlike in Mercury.
We tried this one..
for their unusual mushroom burgers. 139 php
Hmmmnnn.. curiouser & curiouser!
Eeeeeeewwwweeee. Sorry I didn’t like it. Too mushy!
Interesting tea drinks. However, I wasn’t in the mood to try out anything else after that Mushroom Burger! ;P
Hey, they do have Serenitea & Starbucks! That MUST count for something right? :P
Good luck, Metro. I really hope you do well. And siguro, hype up your publicity. But honestly? A 5-storey parking would have gotten more attention & cheers, me thinks! We are SORELY lacking parking space! :P
