A Merry Cremas 2014 with Alaska Crema!

I may not know how to bake or cook, I may not know my way around our kitchen, but one thing is sure -even though I never set foot in the cookery, my kids grew up with Alaska!

Alaska has always been a part of our lives. From a glass of milk before & after school, to everyday dishes of Sopas, Chicken ala King & creamy Carbonara, and Filipino noche buena staples of Mango Float & Fruit Salad. Alaska has been one certified ingredient in the GOppets household.

So when I got an invite to the Merry Cremas Festival at the Eastwood City Mall Open Park to sample delicious Alaska Crema-laden goodies, join in fun activities like a cooking demo by Chef Kai Padilla of VANILLA BAKERY & CAFE, and watch chorale singing & various dance entertainment one Sunday afternoon, Kap & the kids made sure their day was free so they could come with me.

Greeting me upon entrance were Nuffnang princesses & my guardian angels, ARIANNE MUNAR & DENISE CUA. I also wanted to meet my other guardian angel MARIANNE MATIC but she was unfortunately unavailable. Thank you so much ladies for having the GOppets over & for such an enjoyable (and tummy filling) time! <3

Since it was a tasting event, we didn’t dilly-dally anymore after a couple of besos & got right on the task ahead. Eating is a serious business after all, and we were there to judge the best Purveyor. Just as we have predicted, BLUE TOQUE got top prize for their yummy Strawberry Panna Cotta..

A close second is KUYA PAO’s who presented his Alaska Crema version of Pumpkin Soup. Coming in 3rd is CUPCAKE MISTRESS for her MOUNTAIN DEW CUPCAKE or JUST DEW IT (super witty, right?) Yep, you read it right -Mountain Dew the beverage, with Alaska Crema.. That’s what I love about bazaars, the Purveyors really make it a point to stand out & nothing for them is impossible. They will go to ALL LENGTHS to make sure they get noticed. And noticed this lady got. :)

JUST DEW IT 220 php/6 pcs. 440 php/1 dozen. Call or text 0917-8882872 for inquiries.

But as you all know, I’m a pig at heart. So my vote went to this beautiful, golden pig hands down! I fell in love at first sight & I couldn’t keep away!

THE MOTHER OF ALL PIGS!!! <3 Choco moist LITSON CAKE by NOTHING BUT C. I WAAAAAANT!!! Call or text 09175769129 / 09228645972 5333611 or email for inquiries.

This little piglet from MARIKINA costs only 850 pesos. Unbelievably cheap right??? And what a great bitbit to any party, sure to be a hit! I wanted to take home a dozen, but El Froggo kept a tight watch. Iwan na sya sa bahay next time! @_@ I snuck in a taste when he wasn’t looking & believe me. It’s as good as it looks. The cake was so chocolatey & moist!

Meanwhile, Kap had his vote on this. Baloooooot.. pangpatibay ng tuhoooood! :P

Or it may have been because of the name.. ITLOG NI KUYA from LAGUNA. Knowing my comedian Kap, it was probably both! @_@

For this particular ALASKA CREMA entry, Itlog ni Kuya made a special Balut ala King using All-purpose Cream for the sauce.

I was happy to bump into my foodie friends that afternoon. Any chance I get to mingle with them and compare notes (with matching chika) is guaranteed to spell F-U-N..

With my 2 favourite R’s.. Richie of THE PICKIEST EATER (L) and Richard of Tales From The Tummy (R). It was an honor to be air-kissed & sandwiched between these 2 pillars in the blogging community. <3 #fangirlmode

I also got to chat a bit with these lovely co-Home & Living mommy bloggers, Rina of RINA’s RAINBOW, the very pretty & statuesque Jackie Go of GOJACKIEGO with her mini-me.

And of course, the flawless Beauty & Home and living blogger, Rowena of ANIMETRIC’s WORLD. One of my long-time female blogger idols. <3

There were a whole lot more new friends I bumped into like Glaiza of Moomy Musings, Rochelle of Rochelle Rivera, Peachy of The Peach Kitchen, and Jane of Between Bites, but the kids had my camera taking food shots left & right, gallivanting elsewhere, so I didn’t get to have a photo op. Boo!

Like I said, it was not just all eating. There were also singing & dancing. Ang saya-sayaFiestang-fiesta talaga ang dating!

Thank you so much Alaska Crema and Nuffnang for a wonderful afternoon! It was truly time well spent. My kids really took our judging obligation to heart & tried every single offering so they could give the right score..

And thank you too for my loot. Grabe ang pressure for me to deliver! Kailangan ko na talaga matutong mag-bake at magluto zOMG! @_@

Aaaaaand it’s really gonna be one hecka #MerryCremas2014 this yuletide season as I learn to mix, bake & cook (fingers & toes crossed) using these @alaskacrema ingredients. #teachingolddogsnewtricks Kayanin kaya ng powers ko? Abangan ang susuond na kabanata! Thank you #AlaskaCrema & @nuffnangph for my crema-of-the-crop loot!

Ating Tandaan: Saan mang handaan, wala pa ring tatalo sa Alaska!
