Michelle & her husband John co-own HEXAGON LOUNGE located inside of RCBC Plaza. Using over 21 years of combined experience in the culinary industry, Chef John and his team have carved a gastronomic haven in the heart of Makati. The restaurant serves a fine selection of contemporary international fare and a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to dine, as well as excellent service.
The experience of this couple starts with Chef John’s first restaurant, “Perico Restaurant”, started in the early 1990’s in Alabang, and was known for his different Paellas and giant Thang-Long Crabs. After a successful 7 years with Perico Restaurant, Chef John took his formal culinary training in C.I.A. (Culinary Institute of America) in New York, U.S. Shortly after this, he became the Corporate Chef for Technolux Equipment Company where he got trained in various industrial kitchen equipment in the Philippines and abroad. Chef John then continued on as the sole Corporate Chef with the Bistro Group, managing the kitchens of “Italianni’s”, “T.G.I.F.”, “Outback Steak House”, & “Fish & Co.” for almost 3 years. Also throughout his term with Bistro Group, Chef John was the Executive Chef of L’extase Tapas Bar in Shanghai, China, where he traveled back and forth from Manila to Shanghai three to four times a year during the life of the store. He then transferred to McDonald’s Philippines (Golden Arches Philippines Corp.) where he headed the Research and Development Department, launching a wide variety of products such as Rice Burger, Chicken Fillet, Breakfast Rice Burger, a large number of desserts and many more. Throughout 2003 through 2009, Chef John was also co-host of a TV cooking show called “How ‘bout my place?” along with co-host Chef Fernando Aracama, which aired on RPN 9 then moved to ABC 5.
