Meat & Bread

Okay, it was really a “meet & greet” sort of thing but I don’t want to sound like such a feelingerang frog. So “meat & bread” it is. We did, after all, meet up to EAT aside from chikahan galore. So yeah, I deem it an appropriate title. ;)

It was only the girls & I for the Easter Weekend so I had 2 extra dining vouchers up for grabs. I thought it would be nice to meet some of my readers who have been supporting me since I started blogging, so I gave a shout out on Instagram for a meet up..

My bad. I only thought of inviting Thursday night. So sorry for the super late notice!

First to respond was my long-time reader KASSIE. I was really glad that she was readily available on such a short notice as I’ve been meaning to meet up with her since December. So YAY! \m/ Kassie works for Accenture & flies in & out of the country for a living. How I envy her lifestyle!! She was so nice to give me tips & free consultation for my blog! <3 I like to hear my readers feedback so I know what areas I should improve on for your better enjoyment.

We had a buffet dinner at CAFE d’ASIE of THE BELLEVUE MANILA. Being a Friday, it was a Lenten Seafood Special and I had so much fun with the seafood assortment, especially the LOVE-STERS!! <3

Friday Feast of the Sea Café d’Asie | P1,540 nett each Take a break from the all-meat fare and try out Café d’Asie’s Feast of the Sea offered every Friday in its lunch and dinner buffet. There’s surely a seafood favorite in every food station you’ll go to.

I love seafood so much that I ignored everything else & focused on this station. In fact I had TWO platefuls with my seafood specials cooked 2 different ways. This is (oviously) grilled..

Then I had my 2nd plate all baked with cheese! YUM!!! <3 Pagbigyan niyo na ako. Puro shell lang naman yan! :P

Because I wasn’t able to have a go at the Mongolian station in my past staycations ever, always stuffing my face with steak after steak galore & platters of sushi, maki, and sashimi, I had a plateful of Mongolian fare pahabol! :P

AND! I only just discovered this flavored buko shake huhu. It’s not on the menu but you can ask for them to make it for you. This one is buko WITH STRAWBERRY!!! I DIED & went to heaven! I hereby declare it my favorite drink of all in The Bellevue Manila!! <3

photo 3

Oh yes, you deserve your own picture in this blog post!! <3 It was a drink AND dessert in one! I love that even after all that mixing, blending, and shaking, they still put it back into this buko husk! <3 Gives it a more resort, luau feel.

Hi Kassie! The upside down queen of the sky! ;))

I was so happy that Kassie also got to meet the very nice & ever sweet LOUISE FANDINO of MOMMY PRACTICALITY!!! <3

For Day 2 of my staycation, lagare ako hehe. The very pretty CARLA & her charming fiance PATRICK came to visit me for meryenda. I so wanted to have them over for breakfast so I could have fed them something substantial at least, but they were very busy peeps planning & getting ready for their Christian wedding in May. <3 I had a FUN-tastic time chatting with them & getting to know their plans & their dreams. I’m a hopeless romantic & their love story is really one for the books. I fell in love with their love team & I will forever be their fan!

Carla is really so beautiful inside & out. I can’t help but stare at her, completely mesmerized, as we talked the afternoon away. Patrick is one lucky dude! ;) They are so blessed to have one another, such gentle souls!

Patrick is a pastor in Victory Church. He & Carla are so blessed to have found one another! I can’t wait to see the rest of their love story unfold. I wish you nothing but the best in your marriage. I know that God has so many beautiful plans in store for the both of you in the days to come! <3

I have prepared a small token for each of my guests. A small “thank you” for their support to my blog. <3

Which was a good thing too, seeing they all came bearing gifts, my goodness! <3 Thank you so much Carla & Patrick! My girls LOVE Slice cupcakes. Not like, LOVE. So this was a fantastic treat for them.

Our meryenda of pastries, fresh fruits, & cappuccino at THE SIGNATURE CLUB LOUNGE of THE BELLEVUE MANILA..

Lovely coffee art available upon request. The Bellevue Manila really has it all! <3

Then for dinner, I got to meet Meyoke’s sister, MALOU. Meyoke is sooo sweet! Her sister Malou reads my blog but didn’t have an Instagram account. So she was sweet to get a slot for her elder sister! I learned that Malou is the breadwinner for her siblings & takes care of them as her very own. She will be joining her husband in Winnepeg, Canada soon and will be working on immigration papers to have her siblings follow right after. Talk about true, unconditional love! <3

Phoenix Court was closed for that particular night, so we had a buffet dinner in Cafe D’Asie again, which I didn’t mind at all because it meant more choices for my very lovable guest. Plus, I was missing the steak, lels. :P

Looking for a great buffet in the metro south? Café d’Asie serves you a sumptuous lunch or dinner buffet everyday for only P1390nett per person. Enjoy loads of selection from various cuisines and a variety of dishes cooked a la minute at our live cooking stations.

I also always skip the salad station to leave space for more “interesting food” in my tummy. But that night I thoroughly enjoyed my caesar salad & steak combo. It was truly a relaxing 3-day staycation which I was happy to spend with some of my readers. <3

The steak that night was unbelievably & exceptionally good! <3 I guess I really missed it THAT much haha. I didn’t put anything on it, no gravy whatsoever & still, I kept moaning with every bite! Ang saraaap!

Another new discovery now that I’ve had time to relax a bit & look around. AVOCADO ice cream from Arce Dairy!! Sorry but I just have to say it..NAKAKAMATAY NA SARAP!!! <3

Hello Malou! :)

You are my forever hero, Malou! Best Ate in the planet! <3

And thank you for your thoughtful gift! <3 You didn’t have to but I really appreciate the sweet gesture! :-*

Last but definitely not the least, for Day 3, I met CHRISTINE  & hubby JAY! <3 I can’t believe that they BOTH read my blog so I was really tickled pink when they told me. And I was really kilig when I would tell them stories only to find out they already know about it. Now THAT really made me very very happy! I felt sooo loved & cherished by this husband & wife team. I was practically GLOWING while we had lunch at PHOENIX COURT of THE BELLEVUE MANILA for their WOK FRY SPECIAL! (More of this on my post tomorrow)

Wok Fry Special

Phoenix Court | April 5 to 28

Scallops and Prawn with Honey Pepper Sauce, Prawn Meat with Celery and Wei San and Beef Tenderloin are some of the many wok-fried dishes offered at the Phoenix Court.

We had SUCH a filling lunch. Thank you so much RYAN CHAN & THE BELLEVUE MANILA for a sumptuous treat. And at unbelievably affordable prices too. Do come back tomorrow for my separate post on Phoenix Court’s WOK FRY SPECIAL! <3

I was happy that Richard dropped by so Christine & Jay were able to meet him too as TALES FROM THE TUMMY is one of their very few daily reads! I wasn’t feeling so well that day. I had the hotel nurse stay with me most of the night as I was na-empacho from all the eating I’ve been doing hehe. So I asked Richard if he could come to help me entertain my guests a bit as I wasn’t feeling very bubbly. He was so sweet to really come earlier than planned & chatted with them for a while as I got my bearings sorted out.

I’d like to give a special shout out of thanks to The Bellevue Manila as the nurse got to me quickly, like less than 5 minutes after the frantic call I made to the front desk. I really thought I was having a heart attack.. empacho lang pala haha. Takaw me! :P

photo 4

Richard of TALES FROM THE TUMMY came with his family Irene & Lauren for the Easter Special! Richard is sort of my cousin as his aunt is married to my cousin. Yes.. I’m old. I admit it! :P So he is sort of my cousin/nephew LELS!

It was surely a day of gift-giving as Christine & Jay gave me this new (PART 2!) restaurant guide! YAY! Thank you so much, I have already started encircling new places I want to visit with the fambam soon. I’ll just give my tummy a bit of a rest. ;P

My ever dearest ladies (& gentlemen), it was so nice to meet you & break bread together in one of THE BEST hotels in the South.
