Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations

You may or may not have noticed, but I’m really not much into beauty. I am kikay, yes. But I don’t obsess on skin care or hair care much. Which, at my age, is wrong. Very wrong.

Time & again I have been advised to have a daily skin regimen and to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Pero tamad talaga ako. Mas pa si Kap sa nightly rituals. He slathers moiturizer on his face. Me, plain & simple cleansing method just to remove the last of the foundation, then I go to bed na. No fuss kinda gal.

I’m more into aging gracefully. I cannot hide the fact that I am getting old.. older. It’s a process everyone has to go through, so I really don’t take looking youthful to heart. As long as Kap loves me & is okay with the way I look, I’m ok with it too. ;)

Lately though , I don’t know if it’s because of my peri-menopausal & my hormones (or lack of it) creating havoc on my system, I’ve been having breakouts. Para lang akong nagdadalaga, zOMG! So I decided to finally see a dermatologist to keep my pimples at bay.

I don’t let just anyone touch my face, which is why I don’t go to ordinary facial centers that don’t have legit doctors on hand. Keber ko kahit nag-training ka pa sa switzerland. No M.D. degree, no touch. :P I may not be artistahin levelz but hey, this is the only face I’m going to have for a long time. So I make sure whoever touches it is a licensed specialist.

Last Wednesday, Ate & I went to visit Dr. Kaycee Reyes at Luminisce Holistic Skin InnovationsAte has also been having breakouts because of the stress in school. She has been studying all night long that small clusters of pimples have taken over her beautiful face! @_@ And when she is stressed , mommy gets stressed ten-fold!

We finally made an appointment because Ate can’t bear the pimples that have camped on her forehead. While waiting for Dr. Kaycee to be available, we were served snacks & refreshments. They had me at sandwiches actually. ;))

The clinic was full so it was good I had the forethought of booking an appointment for me & my gal. Dr. Kaycee finally emerged from her office to welcome us after a short wait. She is the epitome of a good dermatologist. Who else could be a better model for great skin than her? SOLD! Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations will now be my holistic skin center of choice.

Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations has 8 private rooms, some with different functions than the rest. I had to transfer twice to avail of my treatments. But it’s a small price to pay to look beautiful! :P

Pardon the face. As you can see, I’ve been having breakouts & my skin has gotten soooo bad! ;'( This is what my skin looks like without coverage. Not a pretty sight, is it. Huhuhu!

After a lengthy consultation of the Pros & Cons, Dr. Kaycee & I both agreed on the following course of action for me:

Luxury Facial – A special facial treatment that deep cleans pores & removes bacteria-causing acne, trapped dirt, and excess oil while minimizing pores up to 2 weeks! It begins with a soothing facial cleanse & relaxing facial massage followed by sonophoresis, a procedure that nourishes the skin through the absorption of vitamins, removing blackheads/whiteheads along the way. Next, mild electric currents were released to my face to lift & revitalize. And lastly, the oxygenation which releases cool, pressurised oxygen to the skin to hydrate. (2,500 php)

True to its name, this was the most luxurious facial I have ever had! It took around 1.5 hours & I was getting ansty with the long procedure. But after the treatment & I saw the effect, I swear it was worth the wait. (2,500 php)

Coquille Peel – Restore’s skin’s natural healthy glow using alpha hydroxy acids derived from natural fruit & food extracts. This normalizes the skin’s natural exfoliating & hydrating properties by shedding rough skin & restoring your skin’s moisture levels. (2,500 php)

Skin IontoBooster – This dramatically reduces wrinkles & lightens the skin through electric waves that penetrate the deeper layers of your skin revealing a younger looking you. (1,500 php)

Clear Laser Peel – A type of peel with no abrasive tools or harsh chemicals. 3 rounds of laser procedure is done to absorb carbon into the skin promoting skin rejuvenation, target the absorbed carbon which causes decrease in oiliness, and tighten pores. (5,500 php)

Electro Cautery for my Syringoma. (4,350 php)

IL steroid injections for my pimples. (750 php)

And the following for Ate:

– Luxury Facial | Coquille Peel | Clear Laser Peel | IL steroid injection | Acne Surgery | PDT Light (1,500 php)

Ate never EVER had a breakout as bad as this one. Never. She’s always had good skin. It must be the stress & late night studying that caused this recent breakout that had us both alarmed!

Dr. Kaycee did the major treatments while 4 of her nurses attended to the minor ones. I was assured that my baby was in good hands. <3

We were given these medication for the wounds to heal properly, and also to stop the acne from its vicious growth spurt. Gah!

Ate was given EPIDUO anti-acne gel to treat her pimples & MALIC MANDELIC PLUS soap bar to keep them at bay. While I was given GENTAMYCIN CREAM, an antibiotic cream, since my face was cauterized on several places.

The next day, I was back to my usual self. I even attended an event with Kap & no one even mentioned marks. Either they were too polite, or the marks weren’t so visible. I’m hoping it’s the latter, lels.

Thank you so much Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations for solving our skin problem. Now I know better. Vain or not, I will make it a point to have a regular luxury facial to keep bacteria away. From now on, no one touches my face.. except Dr. Kaycee! <3

Good day, Ms. Jane! Good for you and Jana that you found a very credible, capable and efficient derma… Sayang, wala pa Luminisce nung mga panahong kasagsagan ng breakouts ko. Now, it’s too late kasi nasira na ang fez ko sa kadudutdot nung dati kong derma. Aspalto na ata kailangan nito. Hahaha!

Anyway, here’s hoping that you and Jana will get back to your flawless and most beautiful faces… :-)

Kaya pala ganito ang mukha ko, dun lang ako sa barbero ko na malapit sa palengke nagpapa-facial! Daig pa ang buwan sa dami ng butas, hahaha…

Seriously, though, you’re very correct in saying that you should trust only those who have a medical degree when it comes to your skin care. It’s a whole medical specialty, with doctors who’ve undergone initial medical training spend several more years studying in depth the ailments of the human skin. Kaya wala talagang comparison sa mga parlorista na kukutkutin ang mukha mo.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.
This is really interesting… di din ako mahilig mag-facial-facial but I try to put toner, moisturiser and night cream before I sleep. Might probably bring my daughter, she’s 14 and having breakouts. I hope she’s not too expensive!!!
