Loco over Rocco

It was around a month ago when ate saw a lady in the grocery carrying the most amazing bag ever. Even I was impressed! It was black with gold studs at the bottom, very edgy, just the type that would catch ate’s attention. Even a mile away she told me it was the Alexander Wang bag she’s been telling me about -I just didn’t care much for it back then haha.

Seeing that the lady looked pleasant enough, I approached her to ask if it was indeed the AW bag. She confirmed it. I asked where she was able to buy it. She got my number & promised she would text me the website as she got it on sale (half price can you believe it?!?). I waited & waited & waited, her text never came through boohoo! :((

Knowing how much ate wanted the bag, I secretly googled looking for where they had it on sale. I don’t think it ever was, maybe the lady confused it with her other bags. Or the sale ended. But I really don’t think it ever was on sale as it was in demand & always out of stock.

I finally found one in shopbop.com

Alexander Wang

Wang at the 2009 V.S. Fashion Show
Alexander Wang (born 1983) is an American fashion designer.
At age 18, he moved to New York City to attend Parsons The New School for Design to study fashion design. After dropping out in his sophomore year, he launched his first women’s ready-to-wear collection in 2007. The label embodies casually cool downtown style, drawing inspiration from the nineties, French chic, and rock grunge—always finished off with a slouchy, rolled-out-of-bed edge. Wang launched a diffusion line of pre-weathered cotton tees, tanks, and T-shirt dresses in spring 2009, T by Alexander Wang, as well as a footwear collection of towering platform sandals. He won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008, an honor accompanied by a $200,000 award to expand one’s business. His lines are now stocked globally by more than 30 of the world’s premiere retailers including Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Dover Street Market, Browns,Otte and Selfridges.
Wang is known for his edgy, somewhat masculine womenswear designs. After designing a Fall 2008 collection using black as the predominant color, he designed his Spring 2009 collection using bright colors such as orange, dusty purple, aqua and hot pink, and proclaimed, “They wanted color, they got color!”. Although he reverted to using mainly black fabrics, he was praised for showing great tailoring skills.

But wait, before I end, I have to tell you about a funny thing that happened. Because I wanted to save on customs (you know how the Philippine tax is so EXORBITANT na, may red tape pa!), I had it shipped to Johnny Air Cargo in L.A. so I can skip the customs & tax. However, may nagmagaling sa shopbop & had it delivered to the Philippines by mistake via FedEx. So it had to be shipped back to L.A. to JAC, then shipped back again to the Philippines. It took 2 weeks. O.A. diba!

So today, after going “around the world”, it finally arrived via Johnny Air Cargo. I told ate I bought her a tory burch bracelet online & she had to go to JAC after school to pick it up. Little did she know what surprise awaited her! 😉 She cried when she got home & gave me wonderful, sloppy kisses! 😉
Anyway, here is ate’s BLOG on her spanking new bag (*brainwaves, we even have the same title OMG!). I hope you were truly surprised today ate. Love you. Enjoy your bag! <3

Oh. My. Gosh.

I was really expecting a spiked bracelet when I went to Johnny Air Cargo, bubby. As soon as I walked in and said your name, the people gave me a sly smile. And when a package big enough for 100 bracelets came out.. Oh dear, my heart. I was at a total loss for words and I forgot I had to pay for tax. I was ready to take my package and go! I was so shocked and the people there were laughing at me for taking photos of everything!!!

Thank you so much, bubby! You really do spoil me so much. You are the sweetest! Thank you for my surprise! I love you!!! I’m clutching my dream bag as I blog..

Her instagram, she’s so appreciative..

PS – I only paid 3k (discounted from 4k) for shipping cost at JAC -would probably have gotten more if only SOMEONE knew how to make tawad! ;P I would have had to pay over $200 for tax if I had it delivered straight to the Philippines via FedEx. Thank you, Johnny Air Cargo! 🙂

Hi!I'm planning to order from ShopBop also (a laptop case), and I just wanted to ask, have you considered ShopBop Global? I talked to their CS and they said that all the duties and customs will be pre-paid in you order, therefore, no more paying upon pick-up.Just wanted to know if you've ever considered this option and why you opted for Johnny air instead? :)Thanks!

Hi roxy! 🙂 i computed & saved money from the tax I had to pay online ON TOP of the "tax" i have to pay again when the package arrives (this already happened to me before so I was a bit wary of tax & "tax".) ;P I only paid shipping cost through JAC, no tax whatsoever.
