When in Baguio and you are suddenly craving for the choicest sushi & sashimi, chances are, you just swallow the drool that is forming & wait ’til you get back to “civilization”. Or, settle for second best -go for sushi & sashimi wannabes. That was then.
But since Le Monet Hotel Baguio opened its doors a couple of years ago & brought in the now in-demand JAPANESE DINNER BUFFET for only 650 php/person every Friday, life as they say, was never the same again for tourists. I swear, the buffet has become one of the Baguio attractions! ;P
There is just something about the mountain air that makes you want to eat & eat. Non-stop eating, I tell you. The Japanese Buffet at Le Monet Hotel Baguio is perfect because it already has everything you could possibly be craving for. That, and think UNLIMITED! Works for you? It definitely worked for me!
We were advised to dine early, at 6 PM sharp to be exact, so we can still take nice photos of the food. Le Monet Cafe doesn’t have that much seating so it tends to get crowded after a while. That, and the price-friendly buffet offering.

You have the usual sushi & sashimi platter at the Japanese buffet. Admittedly, not a whole lot of choices but hey, what’s important is you get that itch scratched right? Craving satisfied! \m/
We were quite a big group so we appreciated the management’s concern for us. We made sure to eat fast though as the room was quickly filling up 30 minutes into the buffet. So the other visitors may get their turn ASAP at the Japanese buffet.
Salmon was the featured sashimi that night. You can always order extra ala carte if what you want is not part of the buffet.
We went crazy for seconds (and thirds) with this cold soba. Who knew it tasted THIS good? @_@ And the word SALAD actually makes your brain this you are not eating carbs, teehee! :P
There’s your usual fish..
and pork tonkatsu.
Tempura (a mixed trio of crab, fish, & ebi).
and of course some Yakisoba…
and Yasai Itame. You have the complete Japanese meal!
As if it ain’t enough, drink is included in the buffet price!
And dessert. Not your usual coffee jelly but real, honey-to-goodness CARBS for dessert! I was teary-eyed with happiness. I’m one of those people whose meal just isn’t complete without dessert.
Fruits are always fresh & aplenty in Baguio. Go for it.
The strawberry cake wasn’t part of the buffet, but I just HAD to have a slice. Kap allowed me my daily recommended sugar intake provided I didn’t touch any of the other sweet offerings. DEAL!
And whad’ya know? Someone was celebrating his birthday that night and got a nice slice of ube cake. Made me wanna say I was celebrating mine too. Just for a taste of that awesome purple cake! :P
