Ladybugs at Market Cafe

I finally met 2 of my blogger heroes! <3 When Joshua Hernandez, Marketing Communications Team Leader for Hyatt Regency Hotel & Casino Manila invited me & 2 of my friends for lunch at Market Cafe on the 3rd floor, I knew those 2 would have to be Michelle Martinez of Mrs. Martinez Raves and Rants and Rowena Wendy Lei of Animetric’s World. Okay fine, they weren’t exactly my “friends”, nag-i-imagination island na naman ako! But I made it my life’s mission to be friends with them by the end of our lunch, lels! ;)) #socialclimbertalaga #sorryimnotsorry

Just look at that HUGE smile plastered on my face that says.. HEEEYYY GIRLFRIENDS!!! ;))

I thought I’d feel intimidated with these 2 power ladies. But I was surprised by their cheerfulness, warmth, and friendliness. It was a great lunch experience which I hope we can do over & over again! <3

I’ve always admired these 2 ladies from afar. So now that I had a chance to meet them, I didn’t let it go by & invited them right there & then. It was really a big surprise when they both agreed to meet me for lunch. I was over the moon with happiness! <3

Watch the pro bloggers at work:

I was worried regarding what we will talk about, and being out of place because Michelle & Rowena are already good friends from way back. I was the newbie & way out of my league. But they completely put me at ease right away with their cheery smiles & KK (kwelang kwento). I was so engrossed that I listened intently to every word & surprised myself with filling just 2.5 plates for my lunch. Normally when I’m at a buffet, I would go crazy hopping from one buffet table to the next at Amazing Race speed. Yan lang pala ang tactic for my diet haha! Michelle & Ro, you have to eat lunch with me more so I will eat less. :P

Market Cafe sets the trend for buffet dining with its self-service, market-style set up, where cooking is elevated to performance art. Using only the freshest andfinest ingredients, guests are taken on a culinary adventure through live show kitchens that offer Chinese, Japanese, Western, Korean and Filipino dishes and desserts.

Of course I will never let the sushi & sashimi pass! ;) Yeah, it’s noticeably a small serving. I was with ladies who ate like birds. So I had to curb my appetite a bit to stay in their league! :P

And because I never got the chance to try their grilling station every time we visited Market Cafe because I always got too full before getting there, I did so that day. And everything there was oh-so-good! <3

I had surf & turf. All kinds of fish up for grabs, I got it. ;)

Compare my plate with Ro’s! ;P

Tell me, how can I get more than 2 (.5) plates when my dining companions only had 1 plate each.. wala pang ka-laman-laman haha!

My .5! ;)) Told ya I’m japanese! :P

Joshua recommended that we try the Guava Iced Tea. So we did. And we loved it. <3 Have I told you that it comes in a GIANT glass???

Buffet rates are inclusive of free-flowing soft drinks and local beer. The buffet is complimentary for kids ages five and below, while children ages six to 12 years old get 50% discount.

And on top of our buffet meal, Joshua also surprised us with The Fireplace specialty, Chocolate Soup. One plate each. <3 We were in chocolate heaven!

I know it looks like champorado but I assure you it tastes far, far better. It’s like EATING a chocolate drink! SO DEADLY. SO SINFUL. SO YUMMY! <3

The Fireplace is Hyatt hotel’s fine dining, upscale grill room at the 5th floor, offering perfectly cooked prime meats and seafood showcasing culinary excellence and offers an interactive dining experience that is unique to a 5-star hotel in the Philippines.

Be charmed by the elegant brass interiors and open kitchen concept at this Malate restaurant, with its large wood-fired oven located in full view of the guests as the chefs prepare their dishes. Discover a fine wine library with a vast selection of European and New World wines, where a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere, matched with excellent cuisine, provides a dining experience like no other – set amidst a luxury hotel in Manila Bay.

Thank you so much Michelle & Ro, for gracing me with your company for lunch at Market Cafe. I know how busy both of you are, and yet you gave me a day.

Thank you so much Michelle for these 4 boxful of yummy goodies from Estrel’s! <3 You have made me, AND MY FAMILY, very very happy indeed!!! :-*

And thank you so much, Joshua, for a delightful lunch! And for another surprise gift on top of the lunch & chocolate wonder from The Fireplace. I enjoyed our chika, and I’m so happy to have met you, a fellow southerner & CCF-goer. Let’s do lunch again soon, this time on me! <3

The very dashing & dapper, very friendly, very warm (yes, I’m running out of adjectives to describe this wonderful, wonderful man!) Joshua Hernandez of Hyatt Hotel who gave us the overwhelming VVIP treatment which is what you always get when you dine at Hyatt Hotel.

Our lootbag from Hyatt. Packs upon packs of cookies, chocolates & macarons. <3 I was in Willy Wonka Land.

Hyatt Regency Hotel & Casino Manila opened their holiday season last December 3, 2013 with towers of red tinsel, Christmas goodies and helping hands reaching out to our brothers and sisters who were affected by the recent typhoon. The celebration this year is directed towards helping the survivors of this destructive calamity and the hotel came up with two initiatives which will start on December 01, 2013. Toys for Tacloban, a toy drive where they encourage their associates and guests for the month of December to donate toys for the children affected by Typhoon Yolanda. The second initiative is Claus with a Cause, where 10% of all sales of all homemade Christmas items from their Pastry Boutique will be donated towards Yolanda relief operations.
