Kuya J Restaurant

There’s no denying it, y’all know I’m not a fan of Filipino food so I won’t even pretend. But Kap is, so he was very happy when we got invited to the opening of Kuya J Restaurant in SM Megamall some weeks ago. Him & rice, they go two-gether, and Kuya J’s tasty & flavorful dishes are best paired with cups & heaps & mounds of steaming buhaghag rice.

“J” stands for every Juan. Because let’s face it, Filipino food IS comfort food. Go abroad & you’ll still find Pinoy dishes served in a Filipino household no matter how long they’ve migrated. “Home” is the exact feeling that Kuya J Restaurant wants to invoke when you step inside, that you are enjoying your lola’s recipe & cooking with every slurp of the Sinigang or Bulalo. And every bite of the crackling skin of the Crispy Pata, one of its more popular dish, reminds you of times when you were still little.

The way restaurants go, there’s a high end (not your everyday budget), and there’s a low end (you might as well eat at home with the quality of food they serve). What makes Kuya J Restaurant perfect for every Juan is its mid-range category. The prices are reasonable with great tasting dishes that won’t bust your wallet but still leaves you feeling happy & satiated.
