King Chef Dimsum Kitchen

I am a self-confessed Japanese from another life. But if I were to go Chinese, I’d definitely kill for dimsum. Oh yeah.

When The Bossman asked who wanted to try the 100 kinds of dimsum at the KING CHEF DIMSUM KITCHEN at its new location, I raised BOTH hands. Better safe than sorry, that’s my motto.

OLD. We made the mistake of listening to WAZE & we got the directions to the OLD King Chef. But not to worry, the new one is just a few skips away.

NEW. Mas maaliwalas-looking than the old one.

..

KING CHEF DIMSUM KITCHEN is a Cantonese restaurant owned by spouses Michael Chan-Ang and Marites Apiado-Ang. They started with their first branch along Banawe Street (which was the old location & has now moved to this new one that we visited) and gradually branched out to Lucky Chinatown, Binondo.

They just transferred to their new location and already, customers keep coming in. Good luck definitely followed Michael & Marites.

..

The name is inspired by a chef’s ultimate wish to please the King. Now, the “King” is the common folk who patronizes the restaurant, but the chef’s goal of preparing a feast to please the taste remains the same.

I love cute things so I squealed in delight when I saw these first 2 dimsum laid out in front of us, begging to be eaten! Everyone had a field day taking photos. These were clearly the stars of the day.

Thank you so much MICHAEL & MARITES ANG for having us. And thank you to The Bossman too for another gastronomic luncheon of epic proportions that I nodded off to dreamland as soon as we hit the car. Poor Kap had to one to talk to on our way home & had to suffer through my zzzzzzz’s. ;))

KING CHEF DIMSUM KITCHEN can also be found in Lucky Chinatown Mall. Do try it when you find the chance. <3
