Baby You’re a Firework! The 2016 Philippine International Pyromusical Competition

It’s hard to get Kap a gift, and when you’ve been with someone for 30 years -with 4 major occasions that require gifting in between, well you can just say the tank is set on empty when it comes to ideas & surprises. So I was at my wit’s end a couple of days before hearts day, really. Stumped at what to get my Valentino.

But I refuse to let Valentines pass without giving the love of my life something special. Even in long marriages, or rather ESPECIALLY in long marriages, you need to keep the spark alive. The fire burning hot & bright. ;)

Kap has always asked me to watch with him the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition at the Seaside Boulevard in SM Mall of Asia, a yearly event that showcases a spectacle of lights and colors where the night sky and sea meet as staged by the world’s leading pyrotechnic experts. This is the 7th year of the fireworks exhibition, and I’ve been making up all sorts of excuses & declining his invitation for 6 years in a row now. Imagine that. Kawawang Kap, he’s so whipped haha.

So even though I am deathly afraid of loud noises, and even though the fumes would probably trigger an asthma attack (or so I thought), I decided to brave it out, in the name of love! :P Cupid would have been so proud!

Teams from Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom and United States are taking part in the exhibition which will be held every Saturday night until March 19.

With just a couple of minutes to spare before showtime, and both Kap & I out of breath (partly from excitement, but mainly from running lol), we arrived at the VIP area of the event. Valentine’s day traffic was intense, as expected. So I strongly suggest that you make room for allowance in your travel time AND parking, even for the succeeding pyromusical competitions -just to be on the safe side.

I have to commend the organizers for a very orderly line. Just go to the entrance of your respective ticket designation and you’ll be fine. And portalets are available at every area so no worries there. I just have to say, it was my first time to use one. Cheers to new experiences, weeeee-weeeeeeee! \m/

With my forever date. <3 So handsome, kinikilig naman ako! ;))

It pays to buy the VIP ticket. The line wasn’t long & we were seated quickly. Plus you get front row access.

And there’s food. So yaaaaay! ;) You won’t get hungry or thirsty & there’s no need to go out during intermission.

As soon as we were seated, the show started. Parang hinintay lang talaga kami. Feeling VIP in VIP haha.

And look at my angas Kap. :)) I couldn’t stop laughing, I had to take this shot of him. Tumabi ba naman sa pagkalalaking camera na may mga zoom lens HAHAHA!

Feel na feel nya talaga ang pagka-media! :)) Go lang Kap!

Ako pa yung nahiya! ;P

Hearts firework display by Portugal! In honor of Valentines Day. <3 LOVE!

I could very well say that this is definitely one of our more romantic nights out. Good job, Jane. Here’s a pat on the back for a nice Valentine’s gift!

To my wonderful husband, I give & promise you ALL of my love. For ALL of my life. You are my fairytale come true, and I so love you. :-*

My 30th Valentines date with this guy, #forevercrush #onetruelove. And sparks still fly high whenever we’re two-gether. Happy love day to my Honey, who makes me so very happy, makes me feel so very loved, and gets my heart do all sorts of flipflops -not just one day of the year, but each & every day!

Surprise surprise, the noise wasn’t that scary -or loud! And there was actually to smog to trigger an asthma attack since all the fireworks came from the barge waaaay beyond the yonder. It was mostly just lights, lights, lights. What a beautiful & romantic night it turned out to be! <3 I believe I’m ready for more fireworks with the one who never fails to rock my world. Natanggal ang phobia!

Whad’ya say Kap, should we make up for the past 6 years that we didn’t go? 1 down, 5 to go. I say LET’s! See you guys at the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition! Take it from me, you don’t want to miss it. ;)

PS: You can buy your tickets HERE or at the north gate entrance near Starbucks at the SM Mall of Asia. You may also contact JEN STA. ANA for ticket inquiries at +63917 811 4001 Mon-Fri from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Happy viewing! :-*

How was the food and what kind of dishes was on the buffet spread?

Tbh, the food was so-so lang, nothing spectacular as people are there for the fireworks. If you don’t wanna be hassled with long queues at the restos outside then the food there will do. But if you can wait til after to have dinner, better. :)
