Food & Dining My Kids

Jena’s Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today is my actual birthday. The day we find out who won my 3rd Blog Anniversary Giveaway! m/ Thank you so much to all of you who joined. But first, my scheduled post! πŸ™‚

My baby girl LOVES to bake. It’s good that our cook knows how, and indulges her from time to time when my Lovey wants to make some cookies. Otherwise, I’m so useless in the kitchen. I really can’t help her in that department.

Kawawa namanΒ my baby. Coz I don’t set foot in the kitchen, we didn’t install an air-conditioning unit in the area. So I had her mix in our dining room instead so she doesn’t suffocate in the heat. The cool January breeze finally bade farewell & it’s back to our tropical weather again. Boo!

Our mixer is the cheap kind coz I don’t bake. Our oven is also the ugliest & most basic haha.
Parang walang babaeng nakatira sa bahay if you see my no-nonsense kitchen! NAKAKAHIYA!Β πŸ˜›

I really need to start buying her better baking stuff & arrange for a nicer baking area for her since she seems serious naman in her hobby.
Here we can’t find an extension cord so she had to mix on top of a chair nearest the wall socket.
Kawawang bata. Para tuloy si Moymoy Palaboy! πŸ˜›
Buti nalang she’s such a happy child who doesn’t complain or ask for much.

I’m so thankful to our cook who humors my baby girl’s passion for baking & feeds in to her creativity.

After she mixes in all the ingredients, she stuffs a ready-made oreo cookie.
There is now an assortment of oreo cookies in different flavors available so go wild in choosing your oreo filling.

Tada! <3 The best batch of cookies she has made so far. Can’t wait for her to experiment with more cookie recipes & variations. m/

Here’s a recipe she got off the internet that she tweaked here & there to adjust the sweetness level for her mum, but basically it’s the same recipe for my Lovey’s Oreo-stuffed Choco Chip Cookies..

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip CookiesΒ recipe from Picky Palate

2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined. Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie. Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough. Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

NOTE: Some bakers have had some trouble with their dough spreading too much during baking. If that becomes a problem, throw the dough balls into the fridge for a quick chill before baking. That should solve the dilemma beautifully:-)

Makes about 2 dozen VERY LARGE cookies.

Thank you so much my baby love for always making us batches upon batches of delicious cookies! <3

Happy birthday to me!! πŸ™‚
Without further ado..

The winner for my 3rd Blog Anniversary Giveaway is…

Congratulations, Maria! πŸ™‚ I will be sending you an email to coordinate how I can send you your gift soon! Thank you for joining! :-*

Those cookies look so YUM-MEH!!! I am looking for a mother-daughter baking class this summer, join kayo ni Jena?!?! I USED to love baking, unfortunately, it doesn’t love me back. Basta may apoy, nasusunog ko! Ahuhuhuhuhu!

We’re the same, I don’t even have an oven in my kitchen. Yaya uses two burner stove lang, yung portable pa! IKR hahahahaha!!!

BTW, pinapagamit mo na sa mayordoma ang mga mamahaling kalderos?!?!

    Happy Birthday Jane!!
May the good Lord continue to bless and keep you. πŸ™‚

When you say that your daughter loves to bake and she the passion, please enrol her in a short baking course na. So she can learn the basic and learn the right way. Believe me, I know the feeling. I started baking when I was 10 yrs. old, banana cake ang una. Hindi malaman ng father ko kung cake, tinapay or kakanin! lol!! Then I started to learn the basic, ingredients, baking supplies, mixers and a lot more. Nakakaubos ng budget , some frustrations, tired minsan, but sobrang happy feeling talaga if lumabas na maganda ang baked products.

Aside from my allied health job, I am a baker. πŸ™‚
I’m happy that your daughter Lovey enjoys baking! Please tell her “go for it! ” and please dedicate a special space for her baking supplies etc. Her family, relatives and friends will love her dearly, kasi parang may gayuma ang baking! lol!!
    Thanks Jane, again Happy Birthday!!

And for caring about my baby girl πŸ™‚ Yes I promise to enroll her in a baking class this summer & set aside a special nook in the kitchen just for her, haha. Lagot kami sa bahay though we all have to eat the goodies she will bake! Diabetes alert! πŸ˜›
