iHop Finally!

Finally! We were able to try iHop Philippines. Actually, ate already brought home a variety of pancakes & waffles for us to try as pasalubong a while back when the iHop franchise just opened at BGC. But it doesn’t count coz there’s just something about eating on breakable plates instead of styrofoams, and metal utensils instead of plastic spoon & fork that makes it a “real” dining experience. :P

So while ate was busy with her blockmates in QC doing a group project for school one afternoon, my Lovey & I snuck off to UP Town Center again & hung around iHop to finally check it off my list. But of course this was AFTER she checked out Cotton On. Girls & their never-ending shopping! @_@

IHOP Restaurant
UP Town Center, Katipunan Ave.,

Loyola Heights, Quezon CityIt wasn’t as crowded as it used to be when it first opened to the public, which worked out fine with me. It’s hard to enjoy your meal with a loud stream of chatter around you.

I love this light fixture. <3
I want to have one made with our names printed. That would be really cute for the family room, don’t you think?

Butter Pecan is, and always will be, my favorite pancake syrup. YUM! <3

With my eating buddy. <3

Splashberry 175 php
A blend of their juicy red strawberries, lemon-lime soda and premium orange juice

Never Empty Coffee Pot (Regular or decaf available) 125.00
Of course it got empty, silly. Twice. They just refilled it quickly! ;)

Chocolate Chip Pancakes 255 php
Two rich, chocolate batter pancakes filled with chocolate chips and topped with powdered sugar and whipped topping. Buttermilk pancake version also available.

iHop got mixed reviews when it initially opened. Some liked it, some did not. I think people were expecting too much. And there was a bit of a media hype that iHop was coming to the philippines, so the expectation was quite high. Personally, I find iHop’s pancakes really good & fluffy. <3 So that’s a LIKE for me! ;)

Stuffed French Toast Combo 365 php
Cinnamon raisin French toast with a strawberry cream filling, crowned with whipped topping and your choice of cool strawberry topping.
It tasted like bavarian-filled donut. I appreciated that the strawberries were big & juicy.

I didn’t like this much though. I preferred the pancake & waffles. But it was pretty nonetheless.

Simple & Fit Belgian Waffle with blueberries 195 php
Belgian waffle topped with whipped butter or add whipped topping and your choice of cool strawberry topping, warm blueberry compote or cinnamon.
I love iHop’s waffles. I truly do! It’s fat & thick, golden brown & just oh so yummy! <3

What can I say, this was the perfect high tea for me & my Lovey. Too bad they don’t have one in Alabang. iHop people, won’t you put one there too pretty please???

Mommy Jane! Just been to iHop din for the first time last week! Their Peaches and Cream Brioche French Toast is HEAVENLY. And we have the same fave syrup! I tried all four and the best for me is the Butter Pecan. :)

Jena is so dalaga na! And yes, you can never separate girls and shopping. Hehehe. ^^

I was one of those who tried iHop in BGC (went off-peak hours, no line) and I never came back, and not because their pancakes aren’t yummy, but because my family are not pancake peeps!

I was with Franco then and he said, “Mom I want to order rice!” and I said, “Franco, we are in a pancake resto, why do you want to eat rice?!?!” and he said, “because I am a rice eating machine, mommy!”

(IKR they are angus beef tapa eaters – morning, noon & night – malapit na akong maging stockholder ng JAM foods – kasalanan mo bec. you gifted us with their yummy tapa – minimum of two packs per week ang order ko, huhuhuhu!!!).

BTW if ever you’ll find a manufacturer who makes personalized light fixture please let me know. I want one. iHop’s light fixture is very similar with mine.

Happy weekend, dearest Sugar & Spice! xoxo
