American Food Fest. The Cafe, Hyatt City of Dreams

From September 12 – 20, 2015 enjoy a themed buffet “FROM THE LAND OF THE FREE TO THE PEARL OF THE ORIENT” at The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Foreign Agricultural Service of the Embassy of the United States.


His excellency PHILIP GOLDBERG, Ambassador of the United States of America, graced the event during our visit yesterday.



Mr. Goldberg was met & welcomed warmly by guest chef Jay McCarthy who delighted in having the Ambassador try some of his prime beef offerings.

The buffet features American culinary heirloom dishes prepared from premium U.S. meats, produce, and grains by guest chef Jay McCarthy from Beaver Creek and Vail Chophouse restaurant in Texas. Also showcased are wines especially flown in from across the Pacific.

Texas, the Lone Star State, is known for their cattle and cowboys. And who better to head the U.S.-themed buffet than Jay McCarthy. Chef McCarthy comes from an extremely diverse background. Born in New York, raised in Jamaica, and educated in Texas, his vast experience gives him a unique & innovative culinary style.


Chef Jay introduces the Omaha Tomahawk Rib Roast. It was love at first sight for me. The first bite just confirmed the state of my feelings, lol.






This 12-hour roasted beef brisket was a most welcome platter over at our table.




As you can see, Kap enjoyed his Omaha Tomahawk Steak down to the bone!

Not just beef, also head on over to the burgers & dogs station where you can pile on all the toppings you want without judgement & discrimination. United States after all, is the land of the free (and the brave)! ;)



And don’t forget to indulge our sweet tooth by having some soft serve ice cream in vanilla & choco.



Forget counting calories. Chocolates are ALWAYS great meal enders. Plus they get you in the best of mood too. Just ask Kap. ;)
