Happy Birthday Ria!

There is this ultra exclusive group of mommies in my kids’ old school, you can call them the H moms (for Hermes) haha coz all their things are branded -mostly starting with the letter H (ako lang ang naka-LV as in ‘Lang Value). They are all uber sosi but super nice & down to earth that you will soon see beyond the poshness & come to adore the generous, fun-loving, food-munching ladies that they are. <3 I was really flattered & tickled pink when they adopted me into their fold (even though my big kids are not in their small kids’ age group) albeit short-lived because we all went our different ways (schools) soon after.

Yaya sisterhood Teree & Ria are the “founders” of this “clique” haha. Unfortunately for me, Teree has uprooted & is now living abroad with her family. Too bad coz she’s really a ray of sunshine and one of the nicest & finest ladies in the “hood”. Her sister Ria is still here, but she (& another fantabulous mom) has also transferred her kids to a different school. So for lack of a better term, the H moms have disbanded.

The very beautiful & elegant yaya sisterhood! <3

Missing you, Teree!

They are so sweet & thoughtful to always include me in their plans & invite me to lunches but I don’t always make it because my kids seem to have lakad most of the time where I have to be the designated driver, yaya, or alalay. ;P

Last week was Ria’s birthday so of course hell or high waters could not prevent me from attending her birthday brunch. Guess where.. WILDFLOUR! ;)) Uh-huh. After I vowed never to set foot in it again coz of our Cronut misadventure the last several times. Guess I had to swallow my words, huh?

Salted Chocolate Cake 175 php

Pastel de Tres Leches 170 php

And you know what else I had to swallow aside from my words? My PRIDE! @_@ Guess who also lined up, TWICE, just to get the elusive cronuts. Yep, none other than yours truly! Homaygas.. hindi na ako credible huhu.

Yezzzz. Pumila ako!!! @_@

Only 3 per person per pila is allowed.

I got the dulce de leche, the stawberry & the vanilla on my first queue. The second I got chocolate, maple bacon (below), and another chocolate for my babyson’s special friend who MUST NOT be mentioned daw! :P

I did not like this combination at all. Cronuts 120 php each.

Tignan mo nga naman. Nakabili lang kami ng cronut akala mo tumama na kami sa bingo jackpot! ;P #angsayasaya #NOT

In fairness, I really liked Wildflour’s version best among the 3 I’ve tried. But their cronuts are oh so laden with sugar. Lookit!!

In all fairness, and I really have to admit this even though it pains me to say it.. may K naman pala silang magsuplada. zOMG ang sarap ng cronuts nila ha! Whereas all my other cronut tastings were soft & chewy, these babies were really soft, crunchy & flaky all at the same time. PROMISE! <3 Even my kids found them yummier amongst all that we have tasted. (Click HERE, HERE, and HERE)

Thank you so much Ria for changing my opinion & first few (bad) impressions of Wildflour. And happy happy birthday to you & dear Teree. Thank you both for always including me in all your FUNtabulous brunches, lunches, afternoon teas, dinners atbp. Love you gals, wishing you great health, even greater loves if that’s humanly possible coz you are already so loved by your hubbies & kids beyond words, and great futures ahead. Double the hugs & kisses to you girls! <3
