Happy Birthday! My Lovey Turns 15

Birthdays are big in our family. When the kids were younger, I would buy gifts WEEKS in advance & pile them for the big day so they have plenty of wonderful presents to open. I want them to know how special the date they came into my life is, so I make sure that it’s no ordinary feat. I really make a huge production.

My baby, who loves to bake, made her own birthday cake. Oh so mocha yummah! <3 God job Sweetheart! :-* Happy 15th!

And of course, she shared it with my mommah.

But in time, as they grew older, they didn’t want the fanfare anymore. Not even a customized cake. So I let them decide  how the day will play out. Now that they’re teens, the kids prefer shopping. Yes, it is a material world. :P So that’s what we do. This way, they really like their gift & the clothes don’t just sit in their closets, ignored -and later on donated unused.

Because H&M opened in the Philippine soil a week before my Lovey’s birthday, it presented just the right opportunity. Plus, her birthday coincided with the start of sembreak. Perfectly perfect!

At 10AM on the dot, because we knew how crazy crowded it gets, we were at the new wing of SM Megamall, ready to rumble. And rumble we did! ;)

Her sweet Ate got her BIRKENSTOCKS for her birthday. Apparently, this unflattering german sandals is the IN thing.. again. Way back my time I wore these too. Had I known it was coming back, I would have kept every pair in every color. :| FML, now she’s gonna want one in every other color as well huhuhu. :P

H&M Philippines can be found in SM MEGAMALL & boasts of 3 floors. The first floor carries the more upscale clothes which was perfect for Ate. The 2nd floor carries more rugged & basic clothes which was where my baby love went crazy. And the 3rd floor carries the men’s department so I was able to buy a few items for my babyson as well to keep him japorms. :P

My baby loves skater skirts (white) so she had a blast with the age-appropriate fashyown merchandise on the 2nd floor.

Please don’t judge. :) These bags are not all hers. Some are for me, some are for her siblings, and some are for gifts. Besides, the store has plenty of affordable clothes, I promise.

After which, we had a lunch at the restaurant of her choice, which was NIHONBASHITEI. My babylove will NEVER tire of Japanese food no matter how many times in a day she has it.

My baby loves Japanese food & can’t ever get enough. Even though we were having buffet for dinner -which guaranteed a wide selection of sushi & sashimi platters, she still insisted on a Japanese lunch. And of course, her every wish was my command! <3

We met up briefly with The Bossman who gifted my Lovey with a 20-yolk YEMA cake. IKR, FTW! Thank you Boss for this sinfully good, cholesterolific cake! <3

The Bossman (whose favorite word is “DONE” – which we found at H&M, teehee), was so sweet to gift my baby love with a 20-yolk Yema Cake. Yes, you read it right. 20-YOLK YEMA CAKE. WTF right???  Wadough’s 20-yolk Yema Cake available in 9″ of yummy, yolk-y goodness. Call 0922-8158783 to order or visit them at WADOUGH’s on facebook.

I must admit, we may have slightly overdone lunch. By the time we got to HYATT HOTEL’s MARKET CAFE, which is my Lovey’s favorite buffet resto, we were still full from our late & heavy mid-meal.

But we are food warriors. So we donned our armor, extended our bellies, and ate away. Birthdays are cheat days, don’t you agree? ;)

So I closed my eyes & indulged. My baby’s birthday comes once a year so I’m allowed! :P

With the BAD INFLUENCE siblings! Wow. And here I thought my bunso would be in good hands! @_@ NOT! Looks like they’re training my Lovey to be in their Beerpong team. Gah!

Dear Lovey, I hope I made your birthday extra special, and that you had a truly happy birthday. I know there were some bumps along the way, but the important thing is we were together right? And that we got to have fun!

I love you so much, you must be tired of hearing it from your dear old mommah. But I do. And as long as I have breath in me, I will always, ALWAYS remind you of my great big love & how much I adore you. 15. Wow. Time just whizzed by. Please don’t grow up too fast. I have one more year to think of you as my baby. Gotta make the most out of it! <3
