#GOlobe30tting Day 6 London

Day 6 Paris – London

So grateful for the men in my life. Carrying our heavy maletas 3 flights up & down a narrow winding stair is not easy. Every single time they’d come back up to the apartment to get another maleta a stream of guilt puts me to shame hehe. Sobrang kawawa.

Airbnb = flats, ergo no lifts. Kaya the boys really have to make an effort carrying the heavy, overweight baggages up & down those super narrow winding stairs each time we check in/check out. </3 With no complaints, they are SAINTS! <3

Took the  train from Paris to London..

Eurostar crosses the Channel Tunnel and reaches speeds of up to 186 mph. Clients board the train in the center of Paris and disembark in the center of London in 2:15 hours. Eurostar offer 3 Classes of Services: Standard (2nd class) $298, Standard Premier (1st class) $352 and Business Premier $432 (includes all taxes). Our 2.5 hour train fare: 25k php for 5 pax.

Caught the early train bound for London. Whad’ya know? “Hobnobbed” with Kendal Jenner & Jaden Smith at the train station. Lika na kunan kita Bae, I said. My Jena LOVES the Kardahians like cray. Kaso nahihiya, so si walang hiyang mother nalang ang gagawa ng paraan. Selfie! ;)

I like traveling because we get to experience so many “firsts” together. <3 It’s stories the kids can tell their own kids someday.

Now I fully understand why Kap insists on travelling light hehe. Masyado akong walang sibling tao! :P I’m so big yet I’m so weak, mas malakas at mas matitibay pa ang mga bata kumpara sa akin. Hindi ko kayang buhatin (ni hilain) ang maleta ko sa bigat, so poor Kap had to flex extra hard on those tired muscles. Kelangan kong bumawi sa kanya, lol.

Eurorails are expensive because it runs faster, but what can we do, moving around is part of our itinerary. Shelled out 40K for the 5 of us, catatonic si Kap sa presyo hahaha!

Honey, isipin mo nalang naka-hobnob natin American showbiz royalty! ;))

The train had more legroom than the plane we rode coming to Paris so mas kumportable kami gumalaw considering standard class lang kinuha namin. Hassle though coz we had to keep the luggages with us, walang check in.

My thoughts on Paree? It’s such a beautiful city. Every nook & cranny is just instagrammable with the lovely architecture. Other than the noise we wake up to every moment of every day, I’d say our Paris trip was a success. But I think Filipinos are most considerate of others than the rest of the culture. In Paris, shouting matches & loud singing can be heard in the streets no matter what time it is. 1 am, 2 am, 3 am.. walang pinipiling oral. “Ole-ole-ole-oleeeee..” My eyebags are probably as big & as heavy as my maleta already, lol.

May pagka-sungit pa. There was a musician in the metro (see video on previous post, DAY 4), I took a video walking towards the exit. Minura ako. Ok lang, in french naman kaya romantic pa rin ang dating kahit na nakasimangot sya. Second, hindi ko naman naintindihan. Keber nalang. :P

After 6 fast-paced days in the beautiful city of Paris, we were happy to move on to London. My dad’s youngest brother & his family lives in Essex so mas kampante ang loob ko knowing we have help in case of emergency. Plus he was so nice to pick us up from the airport & lend us a car the entire duration. Suuuuper convenient talaga. Lam nyo naman gaano kabarat si Kap my Kap hehe.

The train stations are so nice, feel ko nasa Harry Potter setting ako. ;))

So now we’re looking at a more convenient & relaxed lifestyle in London with a car & an enabling uncle hehe. Don’t mind me, masyado lang talaga akong spoiled brat. ;P

First order of business: money exchange! We came to europe with just US dollars & Euro, so we needed some English Pounds. And internet. And drinking water. So the most convenient one stop shop was the mall. THE MALL? Kamot ulo na naman si Kap my Kap hehe. Shopping na namaaaaan?

Lunch at Nando’s in Westfield Stratford. My Bae’s been longing to try Nando’s. Don’t worry, London’s staple – fish & chips next! ;)

My Bae is into London youtubers so lagi nyang naririnig Nando’s, Wagamama’s, Zzizzi, Shake Shack. Lahat yan gusting isa-isahin at kainan!

I love my uncle Jeff & his wife Sheila, sobra silang malaga at mapagmahal sa amin. I’m so happy they are doing so well in London as a surgical nurse & an ICU nurse. Grabeng sikap at tiyaga. So so very proud of them! <3

The secret is in the sauce. I wanted to buy & take home sana different sauces kaso nanlilisik na mata ni Kap nung nag-attempt ako. ;))

Hindi naman halatang masyado kaming gutom. :P It’s a given already & Kap has accepted the fact that he cannot reign us in & put on a tight budget when it comes to food. Matatakaw talaga kami!

By 3pm our apartment was ready. We checked in, left our maletas, did our bathroom business, then left in a hurry to finish as many sightseeing as humanly possible while we had expert tour guides hehe. Cut our time in half.

Our apartment in London is at Whitechapel, a very quiet neighborhood, so different from the one we just left in Paris. Makakatulog ako ng mahimbing dito yahoo! I like that it was a gated compound, I felt very safe.

And spacious too, with 3 rooms (my babyson used the sofa bed in the living room convertible into another bedroom), a common toilet/bath, and a kitchenette/washroom/sampayan hahaha! I would gladly recommend this apartment if you’re on a budget looking for a nice & safe place to stay in London. So close to the city too, with parking just across the street. \m/ Good job, Ate! :-*

This post is way too long so I have to break it into 2 parts. Our first day sight-seeing in London, up next! ;)
