Give LOVE on CHRISTmas day

Ho-Ho-Ho, merry CHRISTmas from the GOppets!

People making lists, buying special gifts.
It’s the time to be kind to one and all.
It’s that time of year when good friends are dear, and you wish you could give more than just presents from a store.

Why don’t you give love on Christmas Day.
Every little child on Santa’s knee has room for your love underneath his tree.
Give love on Christmas Day, no greater gift is there than love.
Cliché I know, but so true. The giblings are at an age where they don’t get overly excited with seeing gifts wrapped & tucked under the tree anymore. As you know, our youngest is already 18 –matagal nang hindi naniniwala kay Santa. Plus, they get things as the wants & needs arise, even on no occasion, so getting holiday tokens is not something that’s at the top of their priority. They do, however, derive pleasure in giving. Especially my little one. <3
In lieu of exchanging gifts with one another this year, we decided to just continue with the outreach kickstarted by my Bae on her birthday. We pooled our resources together and bought gifts for the kids of Kap’s staff instead. Christmas, after all, is a season most appreciated by children. And what better way to extend God’s gift of selflessness than in making other people happy, right? 🙂

The giblings are quite happy & contented just being fed (IKR, we are such pigs hehe), so to reward their good deeds, I asked each one what their food of choice was, and that’s what they got for our CHRISTmas lunch..

My Babyson can’t get enough of Neils’s Kitchen’s Roast Beef 11,200 php so that’s the gift he got, which he was able to share with the whole household. Money well spent as everyone enjoyed it immensely, and our sexy chef got a rest from cooking on Christmas Day.

Ate requested for Thai Papaya Salad 995 php, while my Neni asked for Thai Chicken with Eggplant 1,295 php. Kap’s niece sent over a fruit-covered gelatine & that served as our dessert. Simple meal but our table was overflowing with love & gratitude for another healthy, blessed year, and of course each other’s company. <3

Christmas is all about CHRIST’s LOVE, and extending it to people we call our family. It doesn’t matter what we eat, or what presents we get, as long as the holidays are spent in thanksgiving with loved ones. Happy happy happy Christmas. From our hearts & home to yours! :-*

Of course pictorial is not to be missed! 😉 Posing left & right, a lil bit of clicking here & there -for posterity..

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.

Our Christmas tree this year may be bare of beautifully-wrapped presents for one another, but hey, it’s not what’s under the tree that matters. It’s who’s gathered around it. And these people (plus a dog & a bird) make my heart so very full & happy. <3

After a short siesta after a very filling meal (coz yeah, we really are pigs ;P ) we were ready to welcome our guests & start the jingle bells playing mid-afternoon. The giblings thought of some games to break the ice before our simple salo-salo. Kap’s people already know each other but they are a bit shy with the fam, I don’t know why. We’ve always been warm & welcoming towards them. But I guess it’a also good to have a wall para hindi aabuso pagdating ng araw. The games (and prizes!) got them out of their shells, lol.

From the kids, to the wives, to the working men, the giblings thought of parlor games which made for a fun, fun, FUN party! \m/

We made sure the prizes were things everyone can enjoy, from GCs for entertainment (Dreamplay) to clothes and/or groceries (Shopwise/Rustan’s). All went home happy. <3

Meanwhile, I was also happy to babysit this sleeping baby while her mommy joined in on the fun. I really REALLY want one huhu! Santaaaaa??? Pwede pa baaaa???

Seeing the kids’ delighted faces as they tore away the wrappers from their presents gave me pleasant memories when my very own babies excitedly unwrapped carefully thought out gifts I got for them several years back. They grow up so fast waaaa. Parents, do spend time with your children for as long as you can.

In our family, we have FAITH, believe in GRACE, trust in GOD, expect MIRACLES, give THANKS, PRAY always, LOVE one another, and choose JOY.

But above all, we celebrate the REAL reason for the season. Jesus is God’s perfect, indescribable gift to mankind. And not only are we able to receive this gift of SALVATION, but we are also able to share it with others not only on CHRISTmas, but every day of the year.

John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
