Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza Revisited

After claiming my very beautiful sunnies at Johnny Air Cargo in Makati, the girls & I decided to have lunch at GINO’s BRICK OVEN PIZZA which was also in the area. To read my previous post, CLICK HERE. I wasn’t really very impressed the first time we went to the QC branch so I wanted to give it a second try at the newly opened, and definitely MUCH MUCH prettier, Makati branch.

Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza

G/F Finman Center, 117 Tordesillas St. corner Bautista St., Salcedo Village, Makati (0917) 964-5339

GINO’s Pizza is named after owner Jutes & Cello (of Cello’s Donuts) Templo’s son.

It was really full on a Friday morning. We got there at around 11AM & this was the scene. It really quickly filled up in a span of 10 minutes since we were seated. The acoustics was really bad as it was like a roomful of buzzing bees so we had to eat quickly coz I was getting a migraine & another panic attack. I don’t know what’s up with me lately, I can’t breathe in a crowded room with too much noise going on. My chest feels restricted & I can’t breathe. :'(

The choices are pretty limited to pizzas & pastas. It is, after all, a pizzeria. ;)

Summer Salad with Burrata 420 php. Greens, prosciutto, dalandan dressing. The Burrata is made of mozzarella skin, cream, and kesong puti from the Philippine Carabao Institute in Los Baños. Buratta, as I have learned, has no taste. Nada. I really don’t know what the hoopla is all about. :P

Margherita 280 php. Tomato sauce, kesong puti, basil 280.00 We loved our pizza.

Honey drizzle spicy sauce. Too sweet for my pizza but Ate seemed to enjoy it. I like mine salty.

The reason why Ate wants to have one and only ONE child. ME! :P I’m enough child for her na daw hahaha. So kawawa. This is her life with me coz I’m such a handful. I always get sauce on my clothes, my hair, my accessories.. and she is forever cleaning me up as I munch happily away. We have reversal roles. :P She also has to remind me if I left my bag, my phone, my credit card. She takes such good care of me I’m so thankful. <3

Bolognese 240 php. Pappardelle, bolognese sauce, kesong puti, basil, Parmesan. In spite of the toppings, I really found particular pasta bland & had to pepper it with chili flakes & hot sauce. The noodle was firm though so A+ for that.

Tomato Basil 190 php. Spaghetti, tomato, basil, garlic, Parmesan. This was perfect. The flavor & the al dente pasta.

My twinnies wearing their “Over It” shirt from Topshop. Over what???

Chocolate Salami 195 php. This was a wonderful mix of chocolate & nuts. I was really surprised when Ate HALF of it. No joke!

When we left, there was still a considerably long line of people waiting to be seated.. and fed.

I don’t know if it was the prettier place or the new location, but I liked our Gino’s Brick Pizza experience this second time around. I guess place & location really helps.
