Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza Revisited

After claiming my very beautiful sunnies at Johnny Air Cargo in Makati, the girls & I decided to have lunch at GINO’s BRICK OVEN PIZZA which was also in the area. To read my previous post, CLICK HERE. I wasn’t really very impressed the first time we went to the QC branch so I wanted to give it a second try at the newly opened, and definitely MUCH MUCH prettier, Makati branch.

GINO’s Pizza is named after owner Jutes & Cello (of Cello’s Donuts) Templo’s son.

It was really full on a Friday morning. We got there at around 11AM & this was the scene. It really quickly filled up in a span of 10 minutes since we were seated. The acoustics was really bad as it was like a roomful of buzzing bees so we had to eat quickly coz I was getting a migraine & another panic attack. I don’t know what’s up with me lately, I can’t breathe in a crowded room with too much noise going on. My chest feels restricted & I can’t breathe. :'(

The choices are pretty limited to pizzas & pastas. It is, after all, a pizzeria. ;)

DSC04080

Summer Salad with Burrata 420 php. Greens, prosciutto, dalandan dressing. The Burrata is made of mozzarella skin, cream, and kesong puti from the Philippine Carabao Institute in Los Baños. Buratta, as I have learned, has no taste. Nada. I really don’t know what the hoopla is all about. :P

DSC04089

Margherita 280 php. Tomato sauce, kesong puti, basil 280.00 We loved our pizza.

DSC04090

Honey drizzle spicy sauce. Too sweet for my pizza but Ate seemed to enjoy it. I like mine salty.

The reason why Ate wants to have one and only ONE child. ME! :P I’m enough child for her na daw hahaha. So kawawa. This is her life with me coz I’m such a handful. I always get sauce on my clothes, my hair, my accessories.. and she is forever cleaning me up as I munch happily away. We have reversal roles. :P She also has to remind me if I left my bag, my phone, my credit card. She takes such good care of me I’m so thankful. <3

Bolognese 240 php. Pappardelle, bolognese sauce, kesong puti, basil, Parmesan. In spite of the toppings, I really found particular pasta bland & had to pepper it with chili flakes & hot sauce. The noodle was firm though so A+ for that.

Tomato Basil 190 php. Spaghetti, tomato, basil, garlic, Parmesan. This was perfect. The flavor & the al dente pasta.

My twinnies wearing their “Over It” shirt from Topshop. Over what???

Chocolate Salami 195 php. This was a wonderful mix of chocolate & nuts. I was really surprised when Ate HALF of it. No joke!

When we left, there was still a considerably long line of people waiting to be seated.. and fed.

I don’t know if it was the prettier place or the new location, but I liked our Gino’s Brick Pizza experience this second time around. I guess place & location really helps.

Hi Ms. Jane! The pizza and pasta look yummy and the prices are quite reasonable too. No wonder it really draws in the lunch crowd. Maybe I should go on off-peak hours though. I too hate hearing that “buzzing” sound when there are too many people chattering at the same time. Do keep posting your food finds.

Thank you Naomi! :) My major turn off is over-crowding talaga. Syempre you want to enjoy your meal in silence diba not heat your neighbor’s constant chatter lels. Yes, best to go early to avoid a big, noisy crowd.

Oh, so burrata is super bland pala? Sabi yung loob daw is creamy? Gusto ko pa naman matry parang ang sarap sa bread, hehe. :)

Ang cute naman ng pic nyo ni Ate while she’s parang cleaning something on your necklace while you’re eating. It reminds me of my mom, too, kasi pag kasama namin sya ng mga kapatid ko, role reversal din, sya ang pina-pamper, which I think is well-deserved naman for great moms like she and you. :)

I think its more of the texture and what it is combined with. Hahaha!! The Burrata Summer Salad is just okay – I like the Burrata lang mismo with the tomatoes and olive oil. Hehehe.. its almost always sold out pa naman!! :) Hehehe..

I really liked their Chili Honey on the pizzas!! Hehehe..

Friend namin ni Kathlyn yung one of the partners, they bought into the company late last year and expanded to this site. I haven’t gone here yet tho kasi ang layo sa akin!! It was my first time at Gino’s last April lang! Hehehe..
