Food & Dining The GOppets

Salvatore Cuomo & Bar Philippines

When it comes to food, I have little to no trouble feeding the kids. They’d eat anything. They can live off pizza, burgers, sandwiches, pasta all month long with no complaints. But with Kap, it’s an entirely different thing. He’s your typical kanin kinda guy. A meal is just not a meal without his rice requirement. Ganyan yata ang karamihan sa mga Pinoy?

Kahit de-latang corned beef lang ang ulam, as long as it’s paired with rice, Kap is happy. So with our pending trip, he’d probably starve himself, lol!

For a dry run, we went to the hottest place in town, the new Salvatore Cuomo & Bar, which brings the authentic taste of Naples to Uptown Bonifacio (where The Palace Pool Club is). Kap has to learn that Pizza is our friend, not our foe, hehe.

Salvatore Cuomo is a pizza + bar  + fine dining concept + casual dressing. Italian dining at its best. It is named after the Italian-born celebrity chef Salvatore Cuomo. His passion for his food has led him to open restaurants around the world including Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Shanghai. How lucky that Am-Phil Group (the same guys that brought in Chili’s, Nanbantei, Super Bowl of China, and Tokyo Tonteki) was able to partner with him & bring another world-class dining to our shores! <3

Salvatore Cuomo & Bar

G/F Uptown Parade, 9th Avenue corner 38th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig ; 946-3072 or 946-3073

Ate leaves for a 4-day international trip today with her bitchezz and we’ll be seeing her again a day before we all leave the country for a month. We’re so clingy that may send-off party pa talaga for her before she leaves, lol! ;))

Salvatore Cuomo has such handsome interiors. Industrial, yet warm and welcoming. Nagka-idea na naman si Ate for the design of her room. Please girl, tama na! At this rate, your room will never be finished! @_@

What we came here for.. PUGON-baked pizza! Salvatore Cuomo‘s wood-fired oven fires out hot, chewy, mouthwatering pizza woohoo! \m/

To start us off, complimentary bread, yay! Can I just say? Ask for extra servings of the chewy, herb-y Zeppole. But don’t tell them I told you so hehe.

The tastiest Caprese con Mozzarella di Bufala 750 php. Buffalo mozzarella salad. We happily dipped our bread in the olive oil while waiting for the rest of our food. Those are some fresh cherry tomatoes. lemme tell you!

Tagliere di Affetatti 960 php. Assorted fresh parma ham, neapolitan salami, and mortadella ham.

Quattro Formaggi 750 php. 4 kinds of cheese WITH HONEY! Saraaaap. The sweet & salty combo is just so lovely!

But just as Kap is my soulmate, this D.O.C. definitely stole my heart & soul. <3 I’d go back for this over & over again, hindi nakakasawa.

Super loving this DOC pizza (Mozarella, cherry tomato, basil) 820 php. So simple & fresh, the taste is clean & refreshing. Perfect for our year-round summer weather. Again, heart-heart-heart those Japanese cherry tomatoes!

My busog-lusog kids. Will definitely miss Ate these 4 days huhu.

A favorite at our table, so much that it called for TWO orders! Spaghetti all spuma di Carbonara 480 php. Light but creamy. So simple but oh so good! Must have, promise.

Ang pagkaing walang anggulo! ;P Yummy from every angle huhu. With scampis actually fatter than my fingers, lol. Fettuccine ai Scampi 850 php (fettuccine with scampi & tomato cream sauce).

I’m like “Hey, what’s up hello!” <3 Please wipe my drool. PLEASE!! Tagliata di Manzo 1,500 php. Beef ribeye steak with basil sauce & parmesan cheese. Thick & juicy, and best of all, only 1.5k – wtf! Another order please??

While waiting for our dessert, the gals took the opportunity to do what they do best. ;) The place is just so photogenic, every nook & cranny makes for nice pictures don’t you agree? Of course, it doesn’t hurt that my ladies are also so very lovely, teehee. :-*

Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey! Tiramisu 380 php served with pistachio gelato, and Torta caprese 380 php (chocolate cake). Pick your poison. BOTH FOR MEEE! <3 Perfectly paired with Salvatore Cuomo‘s strong Italian coffee. Black please?

Waaaaait! Salvatore Cuomo also offers high tea! This special Italian set has 13 kinds of sweet & savoury delights sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. Just like mine, see? ;) 800 php, kumpletos rekados!

So what’s your verdict Kap? 1 whole week going around Italy on our last leg, you better get used to eating pizza & pasta! :P That, or bring bigas & rice cooker.. and several cans of corned beef & sardinas to keep you satisfied. Good luck on your mantra of traveling light. ;))

In fairness, Kap liked everything we ate & said ok naman daw mag-pizza, BUT ADDED.. “na pang ulam sa kanin”. FTW! @_@ Oh Kap my Kap!

Ms.Jane so many tourist trap restos in Italy esp in Rome.So go where the locals go para masarap na kap aprroved pa.So excited to see your updates on your upcoming Euro trip!Have fun and prepare to walk a lot.And if you’re also dropping by here in London its best that you bring atleast one light jacket because British weather is crazy and malamig pa din pag morning even in summer.

Last two weeks the weather was nice and warm na but lately umuulan at gloomy na naman which is typical English weather. In other EU countries pag June mainit na talaga,Italy should be warm at this time of year. But here in the UK malamig pa din sa morning and sa gabi.Mas ok maglakad pag di masyado mainit.Bring at least one light jacket and a pair of jeans just in case.Pwede din dito na magshopping pag di suitable ang mga baon na damit hehe…

And the pickpockets are all over EU din but Italy has quite a lot.Make sure na safe ang cash Ms.Jane.They have different tricks like laglag barya and they know how to spot tourists.Iwas din sa street peddlers ng flowers minsan akala mo free na ibibigay sayo and then sisingilin ka at mang-aaway pa pag di binayaran ng gusto nila na price. My husband and I were dining al fresco in Rome one summer evening and a group of gypsies na flower vendors naglagay ng flower sa table ng Japanese couple na kalapit namin. The girl picked the flower up because the vendor told her it was free and then in came the other kasabwats and started demanding for 20 euros for a single Rose. They made a scene until the Japanese gave in and paid them to make them stop kasi even the resto manager couldnt stop them.So be wary lang po but don’t be discouraged kasi the Goppets are up for a really nice trip!Europe is a really wonderful area to explore, learn and create precious memories.

    Hi Jane!
If you will be visiting the Vatican please try The Old Bridge Gelato—there’s a lot of Gelato places—but this was one of the best!
Also near the Vatican is Alice Pizza—literally a whole in the wall on a side street —no tables, you just stand outside. But the lines are long because the pizza is so good! I recommend trying their Cold pizza.
Just google these places if you’re interested!
    Have a great trip!!!!

Ingat din sa mga pickpockets, madami diyan sa Italy. My boss went there for a plant visitation and lost his phone.

    This might help
