Hammered gold walls lead to the grand doors of Chaos Nightclub with mysterious cast hands reaching out to pull guests in. Upon entry, golden rain of light is seen flowing from the ceiling above, while gnarled branches and candlelight welcome guests at the hostess stand. This unexpected design interaction encourages imagination and sets the tone for the opulent party space.

Our first time to be amongst party people at Chaos Nightclub! \m/ Exciting night ahead for the old farts, lol.

Highlight of the month of October at City of Dreams Manila.. Oktoberfest runs from late September through early October in Munich and cities around the world.

The party was in full swing at 7 pm. Good, Kap & I were eager to get the night started. Exciting happenings don’t come to us often, lol.

First on the agenda, food – drinks – entertainment. Yes in that order. ;)

Beer lovers can have the time of their lives with free-flowing ales from 8 different countries, and performances of top local bands who amplify the festive spirit with timeless classics as well as the latest pop music.

The variety of beers include the Munich brand traditionally offered during the festival: Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest (my favorite! not at all bitter), Newcastle Brown Ale from England, Guinness Extra Stout Pint from Ireland, Stella Artois and Duvel from Belgium, BrewDog from Scotland, among Asian beers such as San Miguel Pale Pilsen, Tsing Tao and Tiger.

I stuck to the mild Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest, which I found to my liking. But do try the other brands ready for the taking.. or drinking! ;P

Draft beer, I had 2 yummy frothy mugs & I didn’t even feel light-headed. Must remember the name. WEIHENSTEPHAN. Whew, a mouthful!

PROST! I love date nights with my OTL. <3 Once in a while I like a diversion from our normal routine of movie & dinner. This is as exciting as it gets for us senior citizens though. :P

The selection of ice cold golden drinks complement the mouthwatering buffet featuring an assortment of cold cuts, salad, sausages, German favorite fare, breads, pretzels and German mustards. German rice pudding, ginger bread hearts, German bee sting cake, black forest cake and toffee apples are a must-try in the sweets department.

Enjoyed the wild assortment of cold cuts & salad spread tremendously! \m/

And what is Oktoberfest without the sausages, right? here’s my plate, fill ‘er up guys!

Pork, pork, and more pork. Miss Piggy is NOT happy to see her family spread out thinly, hehe.

Most of these sausages can be boiled, broiled, grilled, panfried, or even deep-fried. What to serve with all of these sausages? I always like to have a generous serving of sauerkraut on the side. Best paired with German breads such as pumpernickel, sour pickles, a variety of sweet and spicy mustards, and of course, BEER!

Oktoberfest-Chaos-Nightclub-City-of-Dreams-Manila-02A little 101 on the types of sausages:

Blutwurst: Made of diced, cooked pork fat and blood, blut (blood) sausages come in many varieties served both hot and cold.

Bockwurst: These fat, mild white sausages contain finely ground pork or pork and veal flavored with leeks, chives, or green onions.

Bratwurst: The name means “farmers’ sausage”. In Germany, these sausages—which can be fresh or smoked—tend to be all pork, but they can also contain veal.

Cervelat: These large smoked sausages tend to be more heavily seasoned than other German varieties. They can be eaten as cold cuts or poached and used in various dishes.

Frankfurter: Hailing from Frankfurt, this is a smoky, mildly seasoned sausage distinguished by its long, narrow shape. It’s usually made with pork in natural sheep casing. This casing—missing from many American sausages—is what gives the frankfurter “that nice pop”.

Knockwurst (Knackwurst): These fat smoked sausages are generally made of pork and veal and are distinguished by a strong garlic flavor.

One of the 8 wonders of the world, and man’s greatest invention when it comes to food.. The BAE-CON! <3

Oops, Guilty as charged on that big gaping hole on the pig’s crunchy, crispy neck. P

My TWO plates side by side. My beer mug is SO proud.

Irene & I share many things in common. One of which is love for pretzels! Yuuuuuuum! <3

Did I say yum? I meant YUUUUUUUM! <3 <3 <3

Have your pick at some German desserts such as this Lebkuchen tree ( a traditional German baked Christmas treat somewhat resembling gingerbread) & Apple Strudel (where’s the vanilla ice cream please?).

and candied apples straight out of Hansel & Gretel’s!

Kuss Mich translates to “KISS ME”. Hey Kap, are you paying attention??

Nightly entertainment by highly sought after local acts consists of “Jex and Katrina” and “Sassy Girls” on October 7, 8, 15 and 16; “Brad and Nina” and “Jean Kiley” on October 9 and 10; “Joyce Mallari” and “Manila Pop” on October 11 and 12; “Manila Pop” and “Resoul” on October 13 and 14.

This German-inspired festivity complete with nonstop beer, Bavarian cuisine and live band music titillates guests at Chaos Nightclub, which is housed inside the iconic Fortune Egg at City of Dreams Manila.

How lucky for us that MANILA POP was the band playing that night. Kap & I enjoyed the upbeat 80’s songs. Parang high school life, oh my high school life lang uli ang peg! ;)

They played for 2 sets, with matching costume change per set.. and dance choreography too which got us groovin’ as well! ;)) And there we are after getting in the beat, front & center – exhausted & sitting #LikeABoss #SOLEmates

Music & beer makes for a very very happy crowd! ;)) Just look at those leering men, lol.

But that’s not all! Contemporary beer games and raffle draw with enticing prizes add excitement to the Oktoberfest at Chaos Nightclub.

Chug the fastest & you get to bring home the mystery box on the left. Kap struck lucky & won in a raffle draw. Naturally, I get the chocolates! ;))
